If I could give this no stars I would. The environment was ratchet & unclean. It literally had a young boy rolling a blunt in the center of the dance floor. I went here for my after prom & it sucked. I wish I could get my money back. I bought VIP passes & the people who bought the regular package received the same privileges as I. I mainly bought the vip for access to all floors, however many people who bought general admission were allowed on any floor as well. I would have been better off not even going here.

I came here for my birthday in Sept. My bf and friends surprised me with bottle service which was dirt cheap. I love coming here and doing the bottle service. Its super cheap and amazing. The staff were very helpful and great. We had a corner table because there was about 15 of us, loved the fact that we were able to come in and out of VIP and down to the main floor. Music was amazing. I abs love it here. It’s always a great time.

They don’t respect your $$$$ here! I went for a networking event at Rooftop 760(AfropolitanNYC). The event itself was decently organized. Upon the conclusion of the event, I was unsuccessful in retrieving my jacket from coat check. They make you pay a $ 5 coatcheck fee upon checking in(mandatory coatcheck by the way, they tell you this at the door). I had everything in order, my coatcheck ticket, after barely looking I was told my jacket was not there, and then an unruly bouncer proceeded to try to kick me out. I asked to speak to a manager, and I refused to leave without my property. Long story short, after close to 20 minutes of asking, a manager was not made available to me, even though clearly one was around. If I didn’t have two of my friends with me, interceding, the bouncer would not have backed down, would have tried to get physical, and I would probably have been forced to defend myself(and he would probably try to sue me for damages, and the law would get involved, over a $ 200 jacket that the guys in coatcheck were too lazy to look for). The guys in coatcheck kept my ticket, and I left, without my jacket and being able to speak to management. I was able to retrieve my jacket 4 days later. Not one to complain, I feel it is a waste of time going to this place, even if you absolutely don’t have a choice, don’t waste your time, there’s better establishments where they respect your $$$$. PS. I would give you zero stars, but I have to pick one in order to write a review.

Went to the 6 to 10pm party called The After Work Party. It was okay. Bartender was one of the hottest women in the place. Mainly regulars were in the place at that time who are really there to dance. Much older crowd of people from 50s to 70s. Everyone was friendly and they were really just there to dance. Next time I’m going to try the later party that starts at 10pm. If you are looking to dance to Latin music, hit the 6pm to 10pm After Work Party. Be prepared to ask the ladies to dance.

On Friday feb, 122016 Copacabana gave me a free ticket for a free glass of champagne. At 1:30am, I went to get my glass of champagne and I was told that the ticket expired at midnight. No where on the ticket did it say a time limit. I asked the bar tender to show me on the ticket where the time limit was and they could not point out where the time limit was on the ticket without an attitude. They were misleading but I fought for my drink and I got it after waiting a long time. Once I got it I gave it back to them and I said keep it. It was the principle of it.

The D.J. Did a great job and the waitress was friendly. We decided bottle service was the way to go. That worked out nicely. The major downside was the disgusting bathroom. Other than that this is a desvent spot.

First of all, I’m very confused as to why this place gets bad reviews. The staff are very friendly and professional. The process to get in and get acclimated is very smooth and fast. I went ahead and got a free entry before 12 ticket from the website, so that’s already awesome. The bouncer at the door noticed my date of birth and wished me a happy birthday. That was very nice of him. The coat check is CHEAP. $ 3 per item. I was shocked. Most places charge 6 or more dollars per item. The venue, itself is very pleasant. It’s not dirty or run down, like Webster hall, for example. The floors are mopped on a regular basis, so no sticky floors to have to worry about. The bathroom is clean and smells pleasant. There are tons of bouncers, so I felt very safe there. I really like the crowd that goes there. It’s a breath of fresh air to see men dressed up in suits and button downs. I don’t have to worry about being harassed by the male population because everyone is very respectful there. The bartenders are really nice and aren’t cheap on the alcohol. The drinks are $ 12 on average and that’s pretty normal for such a venue. Being that the drinks are not watered down, I didn’t have to spend much money on buying alcohol. I didn’t spend time in the downstairs room. I was mostly in the upstairs room. The Dj was on point. He played a good mix of Spanish, top 40 and old school music, such as reggae, biggy smalls and 50cent. I danced most of the night. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I will definitely be going back.

It was about time we had a night out and my friend was in the mood for Latin music. She picked this place and sent me an e-mail for free admission before 12AM for Saturday night. You can print your ticket(which I did) and they even send you a reminder e-mail to print or download it on your phone! Kudos for that. There was a rather long line at the entrance but it moved fairly quickly, we were indoors in a few minutes. Coat check is on the left and it was $ 4, a little annoying since who wants to dance with their coat on? The Latin dance floor had a mixed crowd, from 21 to older couples around 60 and all types of races which is great to see! People will ask you to dance and some of them are really good, give them a shot! Oh and wear comfy shoes! The bar area was crowded and has vents in the ceiling shooting cool air if you need a break from dancing. The drinks lean to the expensive side considering the plastic cups are tiny and mainly ice, a vodka soda was $ 15. The second floor had a more top 40 playlist with some throwbacks if you need a break from the Latin music. Was a fun time with with friends, will keep them on our going out list!

I went there with my gf on Saturday night. However, I noted the following: 1. Enterance fee $ 20/-which u expect that you would get something«i.e. kind of show, international DJ or at least u will enjoy the decorations of the place» unfortunately, u get nothing! 2. Mandatory coat check .yes exactly as u just read it lol«me thinking what if I was cold and I wanted to keep my jacket on!!!» 3. I order 2 drinks 1 vodka/redbull &1 Soda. I paid $ 20/-!! Expensive hell yes but this wasn’t the end of story, they serve the drinks in the smallest plastic ugly Cup in the world«espresso shots size» and they put ton of ice .so you end up drinking an ice tea! 4. The crowed… mmm i will leave this to ur imagination. The place was full of weirdos«i.e over age«60s +» 5. Bar tenders service was horrible and doesn’t deserve a penny tip. In general if u r looking for a decent, cool and good quality place .DON’T GOTHERE.

Copa, you’ve disappointed me for the last time. For years, I’ve been coming to this location, TImes Square, to try and relive some of the memories from the old Copa. My experiences started at the 57th street location and then continued at the 34th street location. At the time, in my opinion, it was the best Latin club in NYC. You had other good ones like Les Poulets, Latin Quarters @ 96th, Café Remy, Sequoia, etc… but they paled in compared to the Copa on a Saturday night. On a Saturday night it was an event. Everyone was dressed to the nines. It was a fashion show. Many of the men wore full suits and at the least, slacks, a dress shirt and shoes. Every woman wore a dress with heels. It was mostly a local, Latin, NYC crowd. The party was great. And it was consistently great. This brings me to my review from 12÷31÷15, New Year’s Eve. I’ll start with the bad. We arrived at 6:45pm because the ticket stated doors open at 7pm. I also called in advance to confirm the time doors would open and they also said 7pm. When we arrived, we got on line on the corner of 47th and 8th ave. The line started moving and we finally arrived to the door around 7:10pm. When I showed the doorman my ticket, he said: «Oh, you have a ‘General Admission’ ticket, you have to wait on the other line. Apparently, this line was only for ‘Premium ticket’ holders. I told him I just waited for 25 minutes on this line. He said sorry. You would think they would have someone outside directing the people. Grrrrr… So, we walked to the other line heading toward Times Square. No lie, the line was half way down the avenue. To make a long story short, they finally opened the doors at 8pm(for General Admission holders) and we finally entered the club at 8:10pm. We waited on line for 1 hour and 25 minutes. It was a joke. I put a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning. We finally get in and are told to go to the main floor. Since we were supposed to have access to all three floors, I asked if we could go to the first floor where they play salsa. The security said no. That room was for a private party. Also, the upstairs was private. Yet, our tickets said we would access to all three rooms. The website stated we would have access to all three rooms. Well, we did get access to all three rooms but not until after midnight. Very misleading. So, basically all the ‘General Admission’ ticket holders were confined to the main room. It was crowed AF but expected for NYE. We were able to get our drinks, get space at a bar table and start to enjoy the night. The music was good. They played party tunes and mixed in a little Latin as well. We met some cool people. Not too many New Yorker’s though. People were dressed in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. Basically, there was no dress code. In the old Copa, you weren’t getting in dressed like that. And this was NYE, you would think they would have some type of standard. This place was know for being classy; for being elegant. It’s sad how much the place has changed. The buffet opened around 9pm. The buffet was set up in a large circle where the servers were in the middle. Before they started serving, people gathered around the buffet. There was no line. There was no start. There was no finish. It was just a big circle of people three to four deep. The line did not move because there was not start or end. Each person on line had no room in front or behind them. The organization was so bad. People were pushing and cutting to get into the circle. I don’t blame them. How else was someone supposed to get food. Copa, here’s a thought. Make a starting point at the line. Put the plates and utensils and the start. Put the deserts at the end. Have the people rotate around the circle and get off the line at the end. Here are the positives: The bartenders. They were outstanding! The bar was slammed. It was literally 4 – 5 deep. Even so, the wait was not that long. The bartenders were fast, calm and friendly. They moved the line. True professionals. People were dancing. People were having fun. The salsa downstairs was good… even though we had to wait until after 12 to enjoy it. Overall, it was a mediocre NYE party. We made the best of the situation. The price was reasonable. The bartenders were great. The music was good. The organization was pathetic. We felt misled(from waiting on line in the cold for 1 hr ½ to not having full access to the club until after midnight). Unfortunately, it did not come close to the parties of the old Copa. I was hoping, considering it was NYE, that it would have that same vibe of the past. It wasn’t even close. And with that last experience, I will not patronize this business any more. Although the NYC Latin club scene is not as it once was(Salsa Socials being a big reason), there are still some decent places to go dancing. Don Coqui, Iguana’s and G&G to name a few.

Not a good place at all. Went on a Friday night and didn’t like it. Expensive, weird crowd and not so latin. Entrance is 20 dollars and it’s not worth it at all, then coach check is another 5 and drinks between 8 – 12. Music is 50% latin, so if you’re Latino and looking for a place to dance this is not it. Dj would play some latin music that’s it’s ok but then turn into more American or 80s which at least for me doesn’t work if it says«Latin club». Wouldn’t go back.

I would give this place a zero if I could. I spent $ 119 here for nye and first off it’s just shit from the beginning of taking an hour trying to get a drink and the music sucks. Then my bf stepped out to smoke and they tried to charge him $ 60 just to get back in. And Mike one of the people working there cursed me out and was very rude and disrespectful yelled at me just because I was trying to get my bf back in. Well moral of the story, avoid this place at all cost. Yes it was on NYE as noted above.

I expected a salsa place to have good music and a good vibe. It definitely had great music and people are dressed really nicely. Most of the folks who come here know how to dance really well so one gets to learn by seeing them as well. However, one major con is that you will be approached by old guys again and again even after you saying no and it gets very irritating after one point. I had gone to Gonzalez y Gonzalez once for a friend’s birthday party and I liked that place much better than this one.

I’ve been here before and had a great time but this time I went they were unable to accommodate my party with a table, told us «oh well, if you don’t like it then leave!» This was front the manager working up front! The cocktail waitress just left and flicked her hair! So rude and very uncalled for! We were trying to spend our money there and they treated us horrible! I won’t be there again #ByeFelisha

Summary: great spot for Latin music, lots of room to dance «At the Copa /Copacabana /The hottest spot north of Havana». We’ve all heard the song. If you’re not from the disco groove era(which I am not), you could be forgiven if you didn’t know that the Copacabana referenced in the song is actually this club on 47th street. Sure, they may not have cha cha dancers anymore, but if you are looking for a fun night out filled with the two things we Latinos do best(dancing and imbibing), then this is your spot. I recently had my 30th birthday here, and my group and I had an excellent time. On Saturdays, there are two levels — the upper level is the«main» club level. Lots of fun Latin music, VIP area, and a big dance area. They also mix in hip hop and other genres, although I’d estimate about 70% Latin music is played. It can get pretty crowded early on, although each time I’ve been there the crowd thins out after 1 or so. The lower level is strictly salsa and associated grooves. The level of dancing is about 10 notches higher than what I can handle, so I stuck to the upstairs area all night. — Things I liked: — lots of space to dance. It’s never felt like a typical club where you are pressed up against people you necessarily don’t want to be next to. — good music: Of course, if you are not a Latin music fan, you may not like the selection. However, if you can dance, they will play a lot of salsa/reggaeton/merengue/bachata — table specials: I am not usually into the bottle service scene, but the prices seemed very fair, especially if you book ahead of time. Things I did not like: — The party starts thinning out way too early(maybe 2ish?) — The line can get quite long around 1130. — Coat check is mandatory. — Definitely check it out if you’re in the mood to dance. And thanks to the girl at the door for helping me out when my perpetually tardy friends showed up way after midnight! Rounded up my review to a 5 because she helped make the bday a fun one!

It’s been quite a while since I’d been back to the Copa with Halloween being a full weekend this year we decided to make copa one of our days out & came by on Halloween. Tickets for Halloween were super cheap($ 20 online) that & the fact that one of our friends wanted to go someone where they played Spanish music was our reason for coming here. We arrived & there was no line to get in great since we didn’t have to wait. After giving our tickets we headed upstairs main area when u walk in is where they play Spanish music upstairs is the hip hop, mix music area. Since we pre partied before coming drinks were easy for the rest of the night we decide to go with wine, red & white & beer they only had Heineken for whatever reason but whatever not that big of a deal wine was good, can’t go wrong with beer. We spent the night basically up & down the stairs to try & mix it up with the music. Downstairs if u prefer the Spanish music it wasn’t too bad. Upstairs for the hip hop wasn’t bad either music was decent they mixed it up a bit. They had a contest going I believe since they kept bringing people on stage no idea who won. The place itself is a good size with plenty of space to dance, standing areas & even a seating area not bad. prices at the bar were decent if I recall 2 wines & a beer was $ 23 not bad in comparison to other clubs. I don’t come here often, music & crowd wise it’s ok for me good if u are into Spanish music more but overall it’s ok, since I was with a group we had fun cheap entrance, decent prices not bad overall.

This place has false advertisement. They had a halloween contest wich they advertising over $ 2000 dollar in prize for the best costume. 1st place 1000 — 2nd500 and so on. This was all a lie. They never gave the prize to the winners. All the people who participte was waiting for the dj to anounce the lucky winner. Did not happen. I ask the manager why didnt anybody win the prize he act like I was crazy. He then told me to talk to the boss, but the samething. She said, whe already gave the prize. But that was a lie!! I was there the whole time and everyone was wondering when they where going to announce the winner. This place is a mess how can they lie about giving away a prize! Seriously this is crazy! Halloween lovers if you want to participate in a contest this is not a serious place! They are not reliable. Never again

2014– Came here for a Soca concert and it was MASSIVE! The place is huge! Three floors! Yes there is a rooftop(covered by a glass ceiling). The place is pretty and the staff just did their job. The stage for the music artist was small on the 2nd floor(up close and personal I was able to touch the artist). The party started up stairs and then people were directed downstairs. It was generally organized. The music was LIVE. I loved the DJ, Loved the people, Loved everything. Diverse but mostly Caribbean people from PuertoRico all the way over to Hati and Antigua. Tips: Yes there is a coat check
Be prepared to dance and talk. There’s plenty of space to rest and get up and dance again. The concert was Hype. People were funny and down to earth. I Highly recommend the concerts here. Attire was: Wear your flag and some shorts.

My and my buds, we’re smoking a few cigars in NYC on Saturday night. One of my buddies wants to go across the street to the rooftop bar/club. Me? I’m not a fan. I see all these under 30 guys walking around with shorts and on their phones. Ladies everywhere, lemme send a text! yawn. One of my other buds say, lets dip out and go to Copacabana. Sold! Thank God Taxis have a built in tips, if I have to do math after a few drinks either I’d tip .28 cents or $ 2800.00 We walk in and the place is bumpin’! Copacabana is a multi level club, everyone is dancing and having a good time. Drinks are flowing, no one is sitting and no one is one their phone. Imagine that? Latin music bumpin’, people dancing and having fun, Copacabana is a cool club in the heart of Midtown. Highly recommended for fun, drinks and dancing.

Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my sisters birthday with a couple of friends. Most of my friends got in for free because they RSVP’ online and came before midnight. I unfortunately, had to pay the cover fee because I was shy of the 12AM mark by a couple of minutes. No biggie, in spite of having a good time I threw it under the rug. Music here is a wide variety on a Saturday night, mixed with top 40, some basic EDM, hip hop(current/older), and lots of hispanic music & dancing later in the night. Drinks are reasonably priced here considering the area its in. Definitely worth checking out!
