The staff here is some of the nicest most accommodating people I’ve ever encountered! The bunch here was incredible and I will definitely make a point of stopping here next time I’m in NYC!

This is one of the best places I’ve ever been in nyc! The staff is incredibly nice and their avocado toast is out of this world! I will definitely be stopping here the next time I visit the city! They really turned my day around(:

I write a review when I’m really happy about the place or really disappointing. I’m really disappointed. I’ve been here a couple of time. Even brought a couple of friends that were visiting New York or their first time. I came here in happy hour and paid a 6 dollars drink with a 10 dollars bill and never got the change back. I won’t get poor for those 4 bucks or won’t be able to pay rent but I think is shady that the bartender did that. I’m tipsy but I’m not stupid and I think it’s really bad that the creepy serial killer type bartender did that. And I also feel really ripped off that he did that after I came here so many times. As a woman you always feel like you are always being taking advantage of, but it’s horrible That somebody do that when you go to what you considered a safe place. I don’t think I’ll ever come back but If I do, I’ll do it when that guy is not there.

Came for a friend’s bday, the upper bar area was where we first got in. Even with a guest list, which was capped at 25 people, we got in with an all girl group within a few mins. The upstairs was ok, but it felt a little depressing to watch this very sad bachelorette group. I didn’t know too many of the bday party, so I was huddled in my small group of 3. The upstairs was ok — the drinks were strong at least. The downstairs area was where it got interesting. It finally opened up at 1:30am, the doorman thought my friend was cute so he told her when to go down but he also lied and said Questlove was DJ’ing and instead it was just an older white dude. There was much more space downstairs to dance, though the bar was smaller. Either way, the music was good, it was easy enough to start dancing with some cuties and the rest was history — we ended up shutting the place down, staying longer than the bday gal. The crowd is a mix — both young and older, but overall, fun and I’d go back.

Was there for NY Dart League so I can comment on how the place is usually. First off they have a great staff, most who were playing darts that night. All good people. The real star of the show was the burger I had. I would easily rank this in my top 3 of NYC burgers. Also later in the night had their version of an Old Fashion and it was quite good as well. Mix in a little Super Mario on old school Nintendo and you have a winner on your hands!

This place is awful, I mean at least the line and the attitude of just letting females in! I was in line with some friends(females and males) and after aprox. 25 I spot some girls walking in and go ask the bouncer who tells me they were just letting females in and that I could enter if I want or leave if I didn’t like the way they work. Sexist, sexist, sexist!!! So they just let females in so for every one guy on the bar there are 5 girls for him choose?

Ahh The late late… Happy hour… A beer and a shot 6 bucks, or is it $ 5? It doesn’t really matter because you get 2 drinks under $ 10. Add some bomb ass curry potato wedges and wings Topped with an old Skool Nintendo with compliments of super Mario bros and you’re good to go! There’s so much to appreciate at the late late. I don’t really come on the weekends but I wanna say it’s always packed. They have a downstairs but nothing’s really happening during the week unless it’s an event. I’d rather good conversation with a random customer, bartender or just whoever you’re with. This place is truly a bar’s bar. At least whenever my friends and I go. Then again we always bring the best out of anything. I digress Seriously though I’ve bartended for almost 10 years and this is the type of bar I’d work at. No one is on their phones because the bartender, I think his name is Sam, is engaging in conversation and the crowd is not stuffy. So by the time your 4th round comes drinks have been reciprocated through other patrons, your cheeks hurt from laughing so much and you’ve died 8 times in the video game. I’ll probably make my way there today! Side note: I’ve been coming for a year or so and only tried weekends twice. Once I came for an after party to the governors ball and the bouncer was a prick. We kindly told him to kiss our asses. We’re from NEWYORK so it’s typical for a bouncer to be a prick and have one up his ass. Don’t let this deter you.

Truly amazing New York cocktail establishment. Having heard about the frothy egg white toppings we decided to pop in and have a suck down. Amazingly the bartenders were trying out a new menu and decide to Share some of the madness. Our minds were open and Spirits were high! We were blown away by how seamlessly sophistication met accessibly! FUCKISIS

Been to the Late Late a couple of times now and have always had a good time. This bar wears a lot of hats: Some week nights it’s a trivia hub, others it feels like a neighborhood bar, and on the weekends you can guarantee both the upstairs and downstairs bars will be packed to the gills with drunk twenty-somethings. I haven’t tried the food but the cocktails are all tasty and well-made. Overall, the Late Late is a trusty bar for a chill weekday night.

Real chill bar. I suggest you make reservations cause there is always a line waiting to get it. Wolf of Wall Street… Identifying a need(want to go in to see a friend already inside), Creating Urgency(hold the line), and Apply needs and Urgency(a patron caught in between). The drinks are strong and the patrons are not rowdy. I also like the throw back feel with an old school TV and bookshelves everywhere. You cannot go wrong coming here.

I’m usually on top of newer bars but wasn’t aware of this one until over the weekend and I’m pretty glad I was introduced to it! I was at a friend’s party on the LES and some people in the group said that they had been frequenting this bar the last few weekends. A few party guests and I decided to make our way there around 11:30 on a Saturday. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too jam packed and we were even able to get three seats at the bar. I will say that the downstairs(which appeared to be more of a dancing area) was jammed so we stayed upstairs. Awesome, awesome early 2000s music, nice bartenders, not shoulder to shoulder — all elements of a solid place for me. The only downside was the crowd(which was a little young).

11pm on a Saturday night and a line is already out the door. My friend had her birthday party here, twice now, and both times I will say these things have been consistent: 1. Fun Music 2. Crowded but not to the point of suffocation. I appreciate that they manage the headcount appropriately. 3. The downstairs bar is a hot box. People will not suffocate you but the heat that is trapped down there sure will. Overall, a fun place for some dancing. I just wish they could get better ventilation for downstairs. You may also have to fight your way to get your drinks as the bar downstairs is tiny and the bar upstairs is crowded with people trying to escape the heat.

I arrived at The Late Late around 10pm on a Saturday night. The place wasn’t busy yet and the rest of my group already snagged a table in back. The music was good, the ambience was great, and their cocktails were delicious(shoutout to the Ritz!). I thought it would be a good night. I was wrong. About an hour later, I had a few more friends attempt to join us. It was still only about 55% full inside and we had more space at our table, until I got the texts of doom: «The line is down the block…» «They aren’t letting guys in!» Confused, I made my way to the front to see what the deal was. There was in fact a line, and the bouncer wouldn’t let any guys in. Um… did I not just make note that the bar was only a little over half-full? You see, what I learned is this is one of those wannabe swanky, high-end places where they try and create an illusion that it’s some sort of a hot spot and those who get in are elite. Yeah, right. I was in a t-shirt and jeans. After explaining to the bouncer more of my party was being held outside, he still wouldn’t budge. I left. So did the rest of my group… to a bar across the street.

Thursday night around 11pm and this place is very alive. People were still rolling in around midnight and later. Now I understand why his place is called the Late Late Came with a co-worker to see his friend dj and ended up staying until 1 – 2 am. This place isn’t huge, but it’s great for small groups. There are pockets of spaces in the back so it’s easy to chat with friends. The bar is a good area to linger around as well since there are a lot of seats there.

Stopped by The Late Late bar last night. It was that magical time on Halloween where people are in costumes but aren’t obnoxious and bars aren’t crowded yet. It was nearly empty but the entire staff was in full costumes and it was an absolute *treat* to hang out for a few hours. The bartenders are attentive and friendly, and the selection of beers and cocktails is impressive. If you go, get the fries: they’re big and crispy with an ample supply of malt vinegar mayo for dipping. I had eaten myself silly earlier in the day but somehow found the strength to polish off my half of the order. No regrets. Even as it started getting crowded with costumed folks, the staff handled the influx of patrons with poise and a smile(I think they were smiling; some of them had on a lot of makeup). The Late Late doesn’t seem like one of those bars where you have to tell your friends«hey, it’s three deep at the bar; see you in an hour when I make my way back to our seats». It’s got a great atmosphere and they keep the drinks coming, so what’s not to love?

Great spot to hang and have cocktails on the lower east side. Bartenders are putting together some great mixes here if you want something more than your usual. Highlight of the menu is the Ballymaloe Burger, full of flavor and well complimented with fries served with malt vinegar mayo. All this while you listen to cool tunes being spun.

A friend had his birthday party here and they were nice enough to block off a couple tables. The bar looks nice on the inside and I would come here again for a date or to grab a drink. Beer prices are pretty reasonable with $ 5 Guinness and $ 7-$ 8 other beers. I would skip the Guinness cocktails, I had the campfire and while tasty it was like 80% ice and didn’t have a ton of alcohol. They were sadly out of the charcuterie plate so I went for a cheese plate. It was one of the larger cheese plates I’ve seen and was great for sharing with 6 – 8 people. At $ 15 it’s a great deal and the cheese were all pretty tasty. I grabbed a couple fries off my friends plate and they were also very good. I didn’t try the burger but it looked delicious. After we were done eating we moved downstairs. The DJ was terrible but we still had a great time. It got crowded but not ever to the point where I could move. It was fairly dude heavy with a couple creepers but fine for the most part.

This bar was really cool, absolutely loved the vibe and the music. $ 5 Guinness, and a bunch of other craft beers for $ 7 – 8 was just icing on the cake. The first level has the main bar and can get pretty crowded in the front, and the rest of the floor is kind of narrow. Downstairs has a more chill vibe, which might be because the entrance to go downstairs is in an awkward spot close to the entrance. I’ll be back here if I want a chill, but kind of rowdy atmosphere for some drinks.

Finally came in here after always walking past on my way to bowery. Top floor was packed, its a pretty intimate bar. Downstairs was playing 90s music, and encouraging shots of the homemade fireball. Florence and the machine happened to be djing there last friday. Its a pretty good spot

Was there late night on St. Patty’s day and the place didn’t disappoint. Nice ambiance, cool decorations, good DJ, interesting drinks(had a ‘Black Velvet’ for the first time which was half-Prosecco /half-Guiness). My only knock on the place is that I thought the bartenders were a little slow, but it was pretty crowded on St. Patty’s so I guess i could understand that. I’ve read other reviewers complaining about the prices, but you have to remember, it is the LES and the spot is pretty cool. If you want cheaper drink prices, you can find them at basic Irish pubs in the UES, but you won’t have the same ambiance you get from this place or neighborhood. Good late night spot so it lives up to its namesake.
