The Nite Owl

After a couple of good experiences here waiting for our momofuku reservations, we made this place our regular happy hour place. The bartender immediately knew what drinks we wanted after two times of going there! The oysters are the bomb. All love for this place!

Loved this little bar. We came late and nobody else was there. The bartender was a nice girl. She gave us ideas on which drinks would be best for us. Pure joy seating with friends and sipping nicely done drinks.

Amazing bar. Cool named drinks. Nice little appetizer menu. Solomon is the best bartender. Just saying.

Got here early for happy hour and the place was empty aside from the bar. You can sit by the indie to do some people watching, high tables near the front or space in the back. We chose the bar area. Bartender was nice and quick with the drinks. Tasty with a good amount of alcohol.

Come Here for Happy hour 4 – 8 pm M– F. 2 pm Sat & Sun. Was here on Sat while waiting for the all you can eat sushi down the block. The bartender (Andrew) was very nice.

A bunch of us came in for the dollar oyster happy hour. It’s cool how they give you a variety of East and West coast oysters so you can get a variety.
The chicken nuggets were such a rip off though. 12 dollars for four tiny pieces. You are probably better off going somewhere else in the neighborhood for a snack.

$ 1 Happy Hour Oysters and $ 4 beers. oh yes. And order the fries, they’re perfect. The bar is dark but quaint. When we were there, the windows were open and the bartenders seemed very knowledgable and friendly. Would come before the crowd hits at 7pm.

Was sad to see North River go, because that coconut pork belly donut was literally the best thing I’ve eaten. Maybe the owner will come to his senses and put it back on the menu…
Anyway, great drinks here, and they even have a happy hour deal ($ 8 cocktails) which sets it apart from the other mixology spots in the area like PDT and Death & Co.
Food is good too. The burger was a little small so I was still hungry after, but it was really delicious. The 3 tacos might actually be a better bang for your buck.

Great place for a nice, relaxing happy hour, although it gets louder and crowded late at night (which is to be expected!)

Stopped in for a beer while waiting for a table at Momofuku. The bar seemed quiet at 5pm, but there were some patrons eating oysters, which seemed like their best deal. Service was fast. The bartender was friendly. A perfectly fine place to have a drink.

Stopped in at The Nite Owl after a long day of sightseeing before grabbing dinner across the road. The bar has two levels with the entrance floor decorated beautifully. It’s dark, date worthy and cosy. We sat at the bar and the friendly bartender introduced herself — Elena. We ordered a couple of cocktails which were top notch — the Seersucker and Gin/​Strawberry/​Black pepper cocktail. For our second drink, my BF asked Elena to make something Rye whiskey based and she knocked it out of the park. It was bitter but balanced, a stirred rye drink with Campari and Amaro. We were really impressed and would have stayed longer if it weren’t for our dinner reservations!
Long story short, ask Elena to make you something she’s been working on. She’s got a great palate.

Came in here while waiting for a table at momofuku to grab a drink. Their lemon grab is one of the best drinks I’ve ever had!

So I’m walking by. And something like a sign from God (my alcohol thirst) tells me I gotta check out this spot. FF. Checking the special drinks menu. Searching for something with tequila. So I order from the sweet and sour bartender covered with Henna hands. Suggests me to get the pink drink. Because it matches my eyes. That what she said. She’s lying but in a good way. I’m lying too. After few drinks it wouldn’t matter the color of my drink only its content. Lovely place with great drinks. #thirstyalcholic.

Really nice ambiance! Happy hour is until 8! $ 3 beer! $ 1/​oyster! $ 3.5 (not happy hour) /​taco! Cubano taco was veeeery yummy! Everything was great but I would come back just for the tacos – they were that good. I’d love to try the chickpea and shrimp Pad Thai tacos too.

Great place for happy hour specials, and really nice interior. The oysters were amazing, both east coast, and at $ 1 each they were a steal. We had to draft beers, $ 3 each, and really enjoyed them. I got the burger with blue cheese beacuse I got hungry, $ 6 +$ 1cheese, and it was absolutelye amazing! I wish I took a photo of it but I devourved it way too fast. It is probably the best burger in the E. Vil and LES and at a super reasonable price for the quality and size! Bartender was really nice and seemed to have been working there for awhile back when it was North River.

3.5 if Unilocal gave ½ stars. My sister and I were looking for a place to get a quick drink after doing some shopping and The Nite Owl caught our eye. Our host/​server was friendly and seemed to know the menu very well. Minus 1.5 stars because happy hour specials do not include wine (outrageous!)and the metal bar stools we sat on were not comfortable.
I tried 2 of their cocktails, «Shorts Weather» and «Seersucker Born Every Minute». The former was light and refreshing, the latter was almost too strong for my taste. The food is pretty good, I was impressed with the Shrimp Pad Thai tacos and my cheeseburger was delish. Overall I’d pay the Nite Owl another visit. Hopefully they have better chairs by then.

Only had beers here but the atmosphere was super laid back with really chill music and awesome light bulbs :)
