Thrifty Rent A Car

Everything was fine until after we filled out the paperwork and my wife asked to use their rest room and was told that it was for use only by the employees. Really — a customer can’t use your rest room??? My wife had to walk up and down 83^rd Street looking for a business that would give her the courtesy of using their bathroom. I just hope that the people that work there find themselves in the same position one day. Absolutely heartless and inexcusable… I wouldn’t give Thrifty my business again if they were the last rental car company on earth. Also, the car they gave me was filthy.

Rented from this location on ⁹⁄₃. This location had extremely slow service when I went to pick up the car. I waited over 1.5 hours. Other customers before me waited even longer. The staff provided no indication how long it would take to pick up or any indication that I would even get a car after waiting that long. Waits in NYC tend to be long, but this was extraordinary.
The cars at this location also seem to be in bad shape. This contributed to the delay. Many customers got cars but they were too dirty or too damaged and customers refused to accept them, leading to more delays.
Went to provide feedback on the Thrifty website on ⁹⁄₈. The customer experience feedback webform doesn’t work. The website difficulties webform also doesn’t work. Nothing seems to work at Thrifty.
Overall, try your luck elsewhere. Hertz @ E 76 seems to have their act together. Budget @ E 87/​Lex was pretty good too. Haven’t tried the new 87^th/​1^st location.
