TJ Maxx

If your looking for a great handbag for a steal this is your store; however, the clothing selection is pitiful and unfashionable. I was sorely disappointed considering we are in NYC — I have seen better selection in Omaha, NE and Denver, CO. The store in general is sloppy gives the feel of garage sale scrounging. Poor layout in general.

One of the worst TJ Maxx’s I’ve seen in the city. Even the one down in the middle of Wall Street was better, for Pete’s sake! The top floor is all purses, and it’s insanely tight. The second floor has everything else, and it’s slightly bigger, but still just as disorganized and just as tight. I walked in, did a circle around the place, and walked out. I was in the mood to shop and this place took me out of it.
Save yourself the hassle. Go to literally any other TJ Maxx in the city.

Terrible customer service and long wait times. No bra, panty, or shoe selection. Save yourself the time. Go to century 21 instead.

Einen Blick bei TJ Maxx sollte man schon riskiere und wenn es nur deswegen ist, um festzustellen, das die deutschen Stores im Vergleich zu diesem hier, so etwas von aufgeräumt und sortiert sind. :-)
Hier herrschte wirklich das Chaos. Mag es an der späteren Uhrzeit gelegen haben, oder einfach nur, das alles wie hingeschmissen in den Regalen wirkte. Die Home-​Abteilung machte wirklich keinen Spaß zu schauen und auch bei den Klamotten war es kein Spaß.
Was man wirklich als Plus sehen kann, das sich die Markendichte. ein Designer jagt den nächsten und die Body und Bath-​Abteilung ist wirklich riesig.
Schnäppchen kann man hier trotz des Chaos schlagen. Genug habe ich davon gesehen und auch etwas Kleines mitgenommen. Aber man muss hier wirklich noch mehr suchen, als in Deutschland.
Also vergebe ich gut gemeinte 3 Sterne. Einen Blick nach Deutschland sollte sie mal werfen, was die Store-​Ordnung betrifft! ;-))

Not a bad place for finding name brand clothes, shoes /​boots, ladies handbags, housewares, jewelry, cosmetics, electronic accessories at nicely discounted prices. Generally most items are kept very neat, orderly and sizes are in their correct places majority of the time so that’s a major plus here.
This location has high Lunchtime traffic and very long lines so get over here way before or way after those hours and your good to go.

Shop till you drop! Although this is not a big shop it’s really worth to enter and check the deals. DKNY, Guess, Michael Kors among other big brands have huge discounts in this store.

I decided to give the place a check… I have been to TJ Max at other locations and other cities… I expected this one to have decent collection being in NY… Unfortunately it was really bad… rarely do I ever like nothin!

This is a smaller outlet;
But I still found 3 great swimming suits on an icy February afternoon, for of course an extremely good price.
This two floor store is In the week not so crowded at least not in Winter.
All the staff is very very friendly and helpful.
Yes I would pop in here again if am in the area and certainly recommend this store.

I have to say I am not a fan of the TJ Maxx stores in Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island but this Midtown West Stores has a fabulous assortment. I can always find my dress shirts, slack, or a fashionable jacket for a night out on the town. The home department has a well planned assortment and, in my opinion, have some high end home products for culinary to bedding. I also like perusing though their foot wear selection.
Overall, I think this location can keep up with the C21’s and their super high end competitors up the street on 5^th and Madison.

For the most part TJ maxx is pretty helpful but lately everytime I go they never have what I need. They have plenty of low cost, coats, shoes etc so they are always good for saving money but all in all I’ll probably stop wasting my time looking for anything else here. For some reason stores that have great deals also have poor service, not sure if the low prices command low levels of customer service but hey you cant win every battle.
The store is usually crowded and things can be a bit out of order but you’ll surely find what your looking for with a little due dillegence. TJ maxx you guys have good prices but def need to step it up. I doubt they will so… fuck it. Shop there at your own risk lol!

I am extremely disappointed at the way I was treated at this TJMaxx. I was racially profiled by an ignorant and abrasive Caucasian security guard who seemed to have Strabismus.
I walked into the store in search of a pair of winter gloves with my younger sister when the security guard literally walked up behind us and stood there. When we first walked in, the security guard was not in sight. I didn’t even notice him walking towards us. I got upset that we had someone literally standing over us and I left. After we left, the security guard walked away to the other side of the store.
Now I don’t want to make assumptions but my sister and I were both wearing hoodies because our hair was wet and it was cold outside. Could this the reason why we were «closely watched»? Most likely. Is it a valid reason? NO. In fact, it is unacceptable!
Little does this guy know that I am a working professional and my dad works for a top NY newspaper. I am disgusted and I will be making a report.

Good selection of shoes and there are definitely designer labels to be found here. There’s also tons of skincare and nail polish, and I picked up a Julep polish for around $ 4. The checkout line moves quickly.

I have TJ envy now. I was entirely overwhelmed by this store. It is huge and has the usual savings on designer swag you would expect. The escalators are very narrow.

It’s a regular TJ Maxx.
The first floor is just purses and shades (my favorite parts!) so you have to take the slightly hidden escalators up to see all the other departments.
Selection is okay overall — haven’t seen anything utterly special or unique here that I haven’t seen in other TJ Maxx shops.
If the line is crazy long (which it is quite often), buy some jewelry as the line there is much shorter. And you deserve those cute earrings. You know you do.

* This location is satisfactory– I prefer the 18^th street location because that one is bigger and better maintained.
* Management needs to add clothing hooks or bars in the women’s changing rooms because you end up dumping all your clothes on the seat. Impractical and inefficient.

I was in the area and decided to stop in. This place was a mess and I didn’t even want to look around since it turned me off and I just walked out.

Am I the only one who loves to go out during a blizzard? The city was especially pretty on Thursday night as the snow fell relentlessly and after work, I wanted to browse in places that would still be open. TJ Maxx was close by, and always good for browsing through the cookware section and the athletic clothes section. This is a smaller store than the 6^th Avenue one, with a good selection of active wear, but a smaller selection of cookware. Still, it never seems to me to get too crowded, is always fun check in and this store doesn’t seem to get as messy and unorganized as the other locations. The check out lines here seem to move slightly more quickly also. Service here is hit and miss though on a Thursday blizzard night, I couldn’t blame the employees for being disgruntled and wanting just to go home.

Runway collection is a mess. I mean the whole store is a mess. Everything has been picked through and stained or torn. This is where Dallas TJ Maxx Runway stores beat NYC ones. I’d visit the other Runway TJ Maxxes on Manhattan.

A true way to get a deal in the city.
Huge selection of bags, everything from top designers to unheard of nice looking bags to get you though a season.
Clothes, they really do have a decent size selection for women and items in every size. Always right on season. Pay attention to the clothes, I have seen several items with small holes from the tags that are places by the store.
Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. A love/​hate relationship here. They have a decent selection, but the inventory changes quickly. I have learned my lesson, if you find it and want it, get it.
In the fall, they really have a large range of boots. I was really impressed.
This is not a home store, almost no «home» items as I was expecting. Some basic kitchen items.
Lines can be long and slow.

Seriously hate this TJ Maxx so much. Customer service here is a joke. They’ll make you wait 10 minutes for a product they claim they have «downstairs» and then they’ll come back saying they have none.
So far this has happened to me twice here so far. So damn frustrating — first it was with a pair of shoes (which I needed for an emergency and was willing to purchase one size bigger since they barely cater to people with a 5 – 5.5 sized foot!) and the second time was with an umbrella. It was torrential pouring outside. NOT COOL.
TJ Maxx isn’t so bad if you need an emergency top (ever had a pen squirt ink on you? Trust me, emergencies happen!) or shoes and are a size 7 or up. I also came here during Memorial Day weekend because I needed a black strapless bra for a dress I was wearing to a wedding that weekend — TJ Maxx totally helped me there too…
But what really grinds my nerves is how no one knows where anything else, no one knows how items are really organized, more often than not clothes are on racks they should not be (this is unacceptable in the morning when there hasn’t even been a lot of customers around to mess things up — don’t they organize at night before closing up?) — worked retail — believe me, TJ Maxx can stand to learn something from Sephora on cleaning up, organizing and providing customer service).
In conclusion, this TJ Maxx location is OKAY. — as 2 stars on Unilocal denotes, I’ve DEFINITELY experienced (MUCH) better. If you notice the common thread in my review, I come here for EMERGENCIES. Personally, I think that’s all this one is good for. Want a better TJ Maxx? Go to the one on 6^th ave near the Flatiron District.

Ya know what? Not too shabby! I was expecting a s#!t show. What I got was, well, cleanliness and order, which is all you can ask for sometimes.
A small section of purses and electronic items are housed in a deceptively small space on the 1^st floor, but an escalator to the 2^nd floor opens up into all of the clothes and wares you’d need! Mens’, womens’, kids’, a surprisingly awesome home wares section, you name it! A bit chaotic, as much stuff had been picked through, but pretty par for course of any other T.J. Maxx I’ve been to.
I was bathing suit hunting, and the selections didn’t suck… though, of course, nothing I wanted was in my size. My gripe? They sell almost all of their bikinis in a 2-​piece set, security tag linking them together. Even if I found a bikini I wanted in the two different sizes I needed, say, a medium bottom and an XXXXXXXL top…*ahem*…I wouldn’t be able to pull a switcheroo. (So much for that cute Michael Kors bikini I wanted. ‘Twas not made for the ample-​chested…) Still, the dressing rooms were clean and well-​lit. The dressing room attendants were as blasé as you’d imagine them to be, however. No surprises there.
I’d be willing to give this place another go, but only when the Maxxinista in me is really hunting for some good deals. That happens only every so often…

This is my local TJ maxx. I love having a TJ maxx this close to my apt in case I need something or need to browse… but…this one borders ghetto!
Not very clean. Not very well stocked.
Workers plus or minus. I’ve had a few fellows who are helpful.
I have found clothes and housewares that I love. But I’ve also gone when they haven’t re stocked and its bare.
