Love this place… great food options, friendly staff, well cleaned and maintained. How about we keep the stinky, crazy homeless out of your bathrooms? Very off putting during the middle of a fine meal and not safe.

I was under the impression this place was a must during a trip to NYC. However when we arrived, I was surprised to see most of the seats were empty. Still, the restaurant has communal tables and insists on awkwardly sitting random groups together. So dumb. Lastly, the place is too brightly lit. I felt like I was in an overpriced cafeteria. We had the half chicken and the prosciutto and fig pizza. The former was delicious and well-priced at $ 22, the latter was so-so and overpriced at $ 26. We can cross this off our lists of NYC musts, and have no need to return here.

I have to add a star to my review of the Todd English Food Hall. We went for lunch today after a spa appointment and it was much improved. The restaurant was still 90% empty but it was somewhat early for lunch(around 11:45 am on a Wednesday). We were seated at a table in the middle of what appeared to be the main dining room. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We had: — Ahi Tuna Taco(raw) — very good, but a little too heavy on the guacamole — Pork Dumplings — tasty — Duck Buns — very good — Butternut Squash Tortellini — very good, similar to what Babbo serves but Babbo is better. — Cocktails — good if a bit watered down. Overall this was a much better experience than our first time. The food isn’t off the charts great, but it is a good option when you are in the neighborhood.

Marco Pierre White(3 Star) suggests a restaurant should be judge on its ambiance, service and cuisine. This is our second time here and ALL food tasted has been thoughtfully created and prepared. Sadly the service was marginal. The food will bring us back, but our expectation of a attentive and knowledgeable front of house is low.

One of my favorite bars to go to! I’ve come here time and time again, and I always have a great time! The bartender Shaun is always so wonderful — makes great drinks(my favorite is his Long Island iced tea) and always fun conversation. Warm, friendly environment. Honestly, #whygoanywhereelse!

Don’t do it. Came here last night to celebrate my fiancé’s promotion, and was severely disappointed. Pretty much the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time, and we eat out often. First and foremost, there were few individuals dining in the area of the restaurant that we were sitting, which I thought would mean we would see our waitress more than twice during our entire meal. I was wrong. We ordered the guacamole, which was very bland. I wanted to ask for salt, but by the time she came around to take our entrée orders the appetizer had been eaten. When she finally arrived I ordered the Brooklyn Style Spaghetti and meatballs, and my partner ordered the Lobster Mac n’ Cheese. My meal came out within 15 – 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad at all. Problem is I’m the type that won’t start on my meal until everyone at the table has theirs. 7 – 8 minutes passed and still no meal for him. Since our waitress was no where to be found, I called a manager over and told him that my meal was getting cold, and that my partner’s food wasn’t here yet. He walked around for a few minutes looking for her, and close to 10 minutes later his meal arrived. My food was obviously cold by then. I didn’t say anything about reheating the meal, because it would mean my partner would now be waiting for me. The waitress was still not present so the manager had to come over again to refill our waters for the first time in 45 min-1 hour. The now cold spaghetti was also bland, and the manager again had to bring me salt since she couldn’t be found. This is the type of service and food I would expect from the Olive Garden, not from a restaurant at The Plaza we had just spent close to $ 100 at. All in all a very bad experience.

Love this place. So many options. Wish it was open earlier as some breakfast places don’t open until 9am, but it’s great.

Being this is my first time in the city, I HAD to go to The Plaza Hotel! It was such an exquisite experience. What made my night, was my bartender Shaun. He had my friends and I laughing all night long with many Long Island ice teas. This is his signature drink! A must have! I will surely come back for Shaun.

The restaurants concept of communal or «family-style» dining is nice in theory but poor in execution. The restaurant is located beside the food hall in the plaza hotel and kind of tricky to find. The restaurant itself is set up to look like stations around you specializing in each area of the menu with high top tables. I ordered the lobster guacamole and the roast honey lime chicken which were both excellent. Both very flavorful and filling. However, my boyfriend got the lobster Mac and cheese by recommendation of our waiter and it was probably the most unappetizing smelling meal I’ve ever encountered. Also probably one of the worst things I’ve tasted. From the smell alone I lost my appetite and my boyfriend got sick. I tried to not let that discourage my view of the restaurant, as my food was VERY enjoyable, however lack of service and organization led me to give this place 2stars. Try at your own risk and let me just add that this is just one of the three bad experiences I’ve had with the plazas foodhall, all of which ended in getting sick from the food.

Nightmare at the Plaza My friend and I were amazed and disappointed by our experience at Todd English’s food Hall on 58th street We ordered Chippino as a main course. Halfway thru the meal I saw my friend was having difficulty swallowing, and got up from the table. When she returned, she told me that she took a spoonful of food and had a huge bone that got stuck in her throat!!! She went over o the manager,(Donna Rogers) because she was so freaked out to alert her, She said very little… but had the chef come over to our table. Amazingly…He said nothing to appease or apologize… A few moments later, my friend pulled out another bone from her mouth!!! What??? I called the manager Donna rogers over to show her this for the second time. One would think that would have sunk in that the fish stew could cause some serious problems… that we were out having what we thought was going to be a fine dining experience, and now we were afraid to talk to each other, as we had to pay strict attention to each mouthful!!! So, what did she do??? She again said nothing much, but offered to buy us dessert! What? We couldn’t believe it. This is more than unacceptable… it’s unconscious. This is supposed to be a fine restaurant??? She said, «let me buy you dessert so hopefully when you come back next time you’ll have a better opinion» Come back??? Are you kidding??? PLEASE!!!

Since I was a kid I been having a fascination with The Plaza so when I saw that it was part of restaurant week a couple of friends and I decided to come here for dinner. I loved walking around the lobby of the hotel before I went downstairs to the restaurant. We were promptly seated when we arrived and the smell of fresh seafood was intoxicating. We ordered some cocktails and all were well made and strong enough for our taste. To start I got the tuna crudo and tried the duck buns, the tuna was so fresh that it just melted in my mouth and the duck buns was delicious. For my entrée I went with the hanger steak medium rare and I was super happy that it was cooked perfectly and the taste was superb. For my dessert I got the macaroons and this part I didn’t enjoy, they were super sweet and I couldn’t finish them. I did got to try my friends cheesecake and that was pretty tasty. Overall I had a great experience and would come back.

Came here to the Plaza Food Hall on a wednesday evening wanting to try out the many varieties of food. Todd English Food Hall struck our eyes the most because there were a sizable amount of people dining. The décor was nice, however I did not like how they seated us next to a group when there were still a handful of empty tables. Because of this, we were not given a lot of room to put our belongings. We ordered risotto tater tots, spaghetti and meatballs, pumpkin risotto, and key-lime pie. I was very surprised with the risotto tater tots as they were very generous with the portion; on top of that, the risotto tater tots were very unique in that they had a crunchy exterior. The spaghetti was not very remarkable, but the meatball definitely stole the spotlight; the meatball had a very succulent texture, better than many. We also had the pumpkin risotto, which was very surprising because it’s not often that you find pumpkin risotto elsewhere. The pumpkin risotto sported a light pumpkin flavor and a creamy texture. Finally for dessert, we had the key-lime pie, which was just your ordinary key-lime pie. Overall, we really enjoyed the risotto tater tots; if I had the chance, I would order 2 portions the next time. The service was good as well, but it would have been better if they had just given us our own table. The price was that of a high-end restaurant, which was not fitting of the quality of food and dining experience.

We stopped in here while we were visiting NYC because we walked by it and they had an available table, but I’m so glad we did. We barely had to wait(unlike many other nearby places). The food was excellent and the service was great. The atmosphere was a little different, but it’s nice to change things up. You had to walk through what looked like a store to get to the restaurant. I ordered an Asian salad which was great. My mom and sister ordered turkey clubs which were delicious and I wished I had gotten that. I get clubs a lot and these were good ones. They also had a generous portion of fresh avocado on them which is a huge plus for me. They also come with fries which were awesome. I loved the sweet potato fries. One of my friends got a hamburger and although this was the only thing I didn’t try, she said it was excellent. We ordered mimosas and they tasted great and clearly had a good portion of champagne. We were in a hurry to see a show and let our waiter aware of this and he was more than happy to get things in quickly. It was a great little random spot to stop into during our trek through NYC.

Fairly good establishment below the Plaza. We popped in for lunch while staying in Manhattan and went with a few appetizers instead of full meals. We chose the fig and prosciutto flatbread which was good if not a little to over-sweet. The dumplings which were good and came with a tasty soy sauce-based condiment. We also had two types of sliders, the mini lamb gyros which were the best item we picked as they had a great tzatziki sauce and plenty of lamb flavor and the black angus sliders which were more akin to mini cheese steaks as the beef was shredded and a little to over cooked for my tastes. Service was somewhat slow considering we were there at the 11:30 opening while the prices were reasonavble given the location.

Ordered: Lobster hush-puppies, Pomegrante molasses bbq ribs, Ricotta gnocchi, and Passion fruit curd tart Pros – The gnocchi dish had this great kale pesto sauce and the lamb was really tender. I would only order this dish again out of what I got. Cons – The ribs were a bit dry so I dipped it in the gnocchi sauce which mostly solved the problem. The passion fruit dessert tasted like crème brûlée-no passion fruit flavoring. The pasta dish had about 8 pieces of gnocchi which was pathetic.

I order a soup chicken & noodles. They gave me soup chicken & Italian short dry pasta. The waitress tried to say: both are pasta. Kidding me??? I’m Asian grown up in Italy. Asian noodles and Italian dry short pasta are the same??? And she was all time on her phone. Absent. When I was disappointed, she disappeared.

Always a treat to dash in here and spend an hour… The cheese, the meats, the friendly people. Reasonable prices for delicious food and wine. Always something new. This time the old standby flatbread pizza w figs, gorgonzola and prosciutto. And for something new, the tater tots. No ordinary tater tots at Todd english… these were made with truffle risotto and were mind blowing! Our waiter was Jeffery and he was fantastic.

Hmmmmmmm

Came here for restaurant week after previously having a positive visit & I had guests in town. Food 5⁄5 Service 3⁄5 The restaurant week menu meant the meal was great value, it should have probably cost about $ 65 pp, instead you pay $ 25! I got the arugula salad to start which was excellent. Light, tasty & great flavors. For my main dish I got the mushroom flatbread, I wouldn’t normally order this sort of dish but felt it was the best of the options. It was sooo good! I think the truffle gave it an extra kick! For dessert I had the mini New York cheesecake, which again was amazing. Other people in my party got the chicken meatballs and wings, the goats cheese ravioli, pastrami sandwich & the chocolate flourless cake. Everyone loved their dishes. The service was lacking. First the waiter brought the wrong drink order. When he took details of our 3 course menu without a note we joked with him on how he could remember it all– he didn’t. A manager had to come over and said the ticket for our table had gone missing & could we repeat the order for our main dishes. Every time servers brought out our next course, the plates from our previous course were not removed so by the time the dessert came, the server had to pile up the desserts on a neighboring table to remove our old dishes, take them away & then return to give us our desserts! Due to the way the food court is run, meals tend to come out at different times as they come from different sections/stations. This meant that one person in our party got their main dish whilst we were all still eating our appetizers & the rest of the main dishes came out 10 minutes later! Overall I really loved the food, but considering the restaurant is within the Plaza Hotel I set the bar slightly higher for organization & service and expected more. Bonus points, Mr Todd English himself was dining in the restaurant on the table next to us! So maybe the service will now improve!

Came here on a random Sat night with 3 friends! We were seated after about a 20min wait. We had a share one of the high top tables with another party, which was fine. We started with Lobster Guacamole — there were hardly any lobster and I it was tasteless… ugh! We each ordered an entrée, but shared it family style! I love Kale salad and am trying to eat healthy, so I ordered the Organic Baby Kale salad — it was overly sweet! I love sweets too, but a bit too sweet for a salad. The Fig & Prosciutto pizza was too salty, I would def not order that again. The Kimchi Reuben was delish! Though I wish there was a bit more kimchi. Our fav was the Amsterdam Burger, YUM! it was perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth… yum yum yum! For dessert, we share a slice of red velvet cake — it looked pretty, but that’s about it :( Besides the food, we had a great time. We were never rushed and our waiter was great!

This place was highly recommended for a great solo dinner, for a foodie-type meal with price not an object. The menu sounded amazing! I loved that you could sit anywhere & order from any of the«stations» in the food court. The food court was lively and abuzz with customers conversing, and it was perfect for a solo meal. I must have entered a weird way, bc I seemed to have entered w/o seeing a hostess stand or anything(I saw a host seating people later) I sat at the bar, and ordered a glass of wine, the Risotto Tater Tots(needed salt), the Peking Duck Buns(duck was over cooked) & the Rigatoni Bolognese(I didn’t care for the sauce, which seemed too nutmeggy & was just overall weird.) It was a ton of food, but everything sounded so good & I wanted to try it all! I ended up taking home most of the Rigatoni, one of the duck buns & some tots, but I was so disappointed, that I didn’t even eat the leftovers. My expectations may have been too high, but I was sadly underwhelmed. I wouldn’t return.
