Total Management

This is a great place for people who is already fast enough or has swam in college .
People who are already really good at swimming practice by themselves with another coach.
On the other hand, if you are a beginner or intermediate, like around 1:50 for 100 yards, you are not gonna get enough distance in team training. For those, training is very easy going with a lot of rest, and it’s more focused on fixing your body position.
Fixing your body position is important, however, how would you expect yourself to improve when you swim so little? And people don’t need 10−15minutes of rest for 45 minute swimming.
The actual amount of work out I got to do was significantly less than other masters swim program I’ve done (often less than 1000yards in an hour). I often had 10 – 15 minute doing nothing in the water in 45min workout.
Coaches here tell you to focus on the position to increase the speed. However, most of coaches are reluctant to give you advice about your position. They seemed like they were not willing to spend their time for correcting my position and said «you know, it takes time.»
In my opinion, problem is coach writes work out on the board while people are waiting in the water and the workout is often less than 1000yards, and has really long break like 40 seconds to 2 minutes each 100yards or something.
Also, even though you are in a team, you can’t use the pool for lap swimming.
It’s pricey as well.
However, I believe this team is the best masters swim team option for this price range for people commute to near mid manhattan.
