I’m actually upset I don’t work in midtown — that’s how cool Urban Space Vanderbilt is. The high ceilings and large windows make it a really pleasant atmosphere, and there are so many great food vendor options. It was so hard to choose one but I went with a chicken sandwich from Delaney(amazing) and a glass of sparking wine from Maiden Lane, which I got to enjoy at the bar while my boyfriend ate sardines. He couldn’t stop raving about them but I preferred to take this word for it…

It is very cool to find all the best place of new york reunited in one place! but there is not enough place to sit down and it is annoying to eat standing up! The cool thing is that you have a very different type of food and there are all a NYC signature: Roberta’s Dough, Red Hook Lobster pound, Toby’s Café! I had Ramen and there were very good from HK Street car! and some sake from LA Palapa I think? Anyway the idea is great and the food is good I am just disappointing with the common area.(and also some vendors has a waiting line longer than the other so you kind of decide wether you are ready to wait or not) I’m sure I will come back!

Your all in one food heaven spot right outside Grand Central! Beware! The place tends to get crowded with foodies and local people working around the area, but so worth a visit. So far I’ve had Dough(good but overpriced donuts) and Red Hook lobster grilled cheese and clam chowder… all I’ll say is that it’s so good that it will have you fall asleep after the meal! I can’t wait to go back and try out the other spots I’ve heard so much about! Till next time…

Crowded, overpriced but there’s no question the food is worth it. Everything from the chicken sandwich at Delaney’s to the gyro at Amali Mou to the pork buns and spicy basil chicken at Bangkok bar is delicious.

Places like Urbanspace Vanderbilt bring New York one step closer to the dream I have of lunch offerings in the city. You can look up the vendors that are there on the website. Some familiar offerings like Dough and Red Hook Lobster, and(to me) less familiar shops like Two Tablespoons(vegetarian) and Takumi Tacos(Japanese fusion tacos). The only downside to this place is the limited seating. They should put up signs telling people not to linger at the tables once they are done with their food. It’s not a place for you to chit chat. Other people are trying to eat too. Also love that they compost. Green forever.

Great addition to Grand Central Terminal! Wow wow wow wow wow-za! So many interesting cuisines to choose from… Is expensive though, not surprising considering it’s real-estate; -) Worth checking out.

the concept is nice but the food is over priced and is a midtown trap. I enjoy the mayhem and stout bowls and roberta’s pizza. but robertas pizza has long lines and is priced for $ 12 for a personal pie. ouch. bangkok bar is not good at all for $ 11+. but let me put the spotlight on mimi’s hummus. geez man, that catch of the day pita sandwich for $ 12 is the nastiest thing that i have ever eaten. it was cold tuna?(you’d think they’d have the decency to use some kind of white fish that’s served hot for this price) chunks mixed with boiled egg slices, cucumbers and way too many sauces(a mix of lemon yogurt with some old bay type sauce). alrite, the lemon yogurt sauce was decent. but it simply was worst thing that I ate in 2015. FAIL.

I rather have this exist than not, but we’re not itching to go here because(1) it’s expensive,(2) doesn’t have the best layout so it’s mad crowded during peak lunch time, and(3) don’t love any of the vendors THAT much. One of the biggest selling points for this place is that there’s opening seating. Meeting a friend and don’t want to worry about overstaying your welcome or worry about bringing in something else to eat? Meet here — and fight for a seat. With that said: — This place has the best selection of Dough doughnuts in Midtown Central. And probably the freshest. I’ve seen it at Croque on Lexington. Other than that, there’s a Dough in another food court off of 8th Ave. — Ovenly has excellent cake. To bring home. — I have tried the pizza at another food fair, but not here because they ran out of dough at dinner time. It was good. — Delaney’s Chicken was excellent, but can’t take too much travel time — eat it fresh! Some places I tried and would never go back: — That Thai place. During lunch they pre-prep a lot of stuff and do some finishing touches, to speed along things. I had a green curry once and the chicken tasted stale. — The HK place. Not authentic to me — I rather get Chinese elsewhere for a cheaper price.

I come here every so often for lunch when I have time to run out and grab something. They have a lot of different cuisines, which I like. But variety also makes it soooo hard to choose. I try to sample a different vendor every time I go, but it’s hard once you find a place you know is good. A go to spot is Delaney’s Chicken. They have amazing fried chicken. Their chicken sandwich is just heavenly — chicken is tender and juicy, skin is crisp and the hot sauce adds a nice kick. Don’t be intimidated by the line. It actually goes by very quickly. I really want to try their fried chicken & waffles, maybe during my next lunch break! There’s a good pizza joint near Delaney’s as well. I can’t remember what it’s called, but it’s very good. They do make to order so it does take a while, but well worth the wait. Avoid La Palapa. I think there’s a B&M restaurant with this name somewhere in the city. I think I went here for brunch and it was good. BUT their stand in Urbanspace is not a good representation of what the restaurant has to offer. I got the 3 tacos for $ 15 deal and it was a rip off. The chicken was all mush and the pork had no flavor. The only one I liked is the avocado, bean & corn salsa one. The tortillas taste bland and are extremely dry. Would not recommend this.

So if you’re even remotely in the area you need to go here… It’s not just a place to get food but a culinary experience. There are so many amazing options here that’ll satisfy any craving you have. The prices are a dollar or two more than the standard in the city, but it’s worth it to know you’re getting amazing food every time. If you see me here, wave me down and we’ll split a donut from Dough… I can never finish one on my own(that’s a lie… I could eat like 10 but I shouldn’t… GIVEMEANEXCUSETOEATONEPLEASE!). So yeah, go and thank me later.

I came here for a late lunch and got a salad from AsiaDog while my coworkers got chicken sandwiches from another vendor. I would totally come here more often if this was closer to my workplace! Tons of options, long wooden tables, high ceilings, and a general aura of hipster foodies’s fusion(that’s a semi-good thing) theme running throughout the food offerings. I feel like it’s smorgasburg stuffed into a midtown location. Verdict: worth it, but likely overcrowded during lunch rush hour.

Read about this place online and since I’m kind of a food court junkie I had to try it out. Several great options to choose from. Everything from coffe to pizza to hummus and lobster. True food court style. Modern, hip and great food! Prosecco in a plastic cup, couldn’t be better!

Good concept, but poor delivery. It’s a tight space with long lines that makes me feel like I’m at a crowded food festival or cafeteria. Most booths are overpriced and you don’t get good value for your money. Very little seating, grab a seat if you can find one. I would not recommend this for larger groups because of the lack of seating. I’ve tried three of the booths so far… Red Hook Lobster bar — get the lobster mac and cheese, it was good and very filling. Chowder is also good. La Palapa tacos — terrible tacos, not enough filling, ingredients did not taste good and very sloppy. Dough donuts — very doughy indeed, these donuts are large enough to be a meal. While I liked the taste of my donut, it just didn’t need to be that big or doughy, it’s almost a choking hazard and should be eaten with plenty of liquid on hand. It’s an alright place if you can’t decide what you want to eat for lunch and don’t mind the raucous atmosphere, but if you’re looking for a quality lunch, I would look elsewhere.

I absolutely LOVE this spot. It has such a vast variety of foods to choose from and in such a great location. During the weekends we discovered they have a smaller crowd(which is a good thing) and booths set up of smaller shops to sell/sample their products. Inside there’s anything you can imagine(almost). It’s such a great corner to take your coworkers, friends, family, acquaintances to to try out! Enjoy, seating can get crammed — it’s hustle and bustle, baby! Bar Suzettes — I ordered the fish and chips(picture attached). It came out to $ 14.15, which is a bit expensive in my opinion for two pieces of fish and sea salted fries. It was super oily! I felt bad paying so much to eat so unhealthy afterwards. :(The tartar sauce is lemony, tastes really good. The fish pieces however fell apart as I ate it. It was very difficult to get pieces of fish without losing it in tartar sauce. The fries are also drenched in oil so I’ll probably throw most out after picking at its unhealthy-ness. Asia Dog — I love the MASH chicken dogs! It comes with crush potato chips on top and spicy ketchup/mustard inside. Yum :) it’s 2 for $ 10. Not a fulfilling meal however, more like a snack. Delancy — Their line is always SO long and I was curious why. One day I finally tried it after craving a chicken sandwich. Worst decision ever. The chicken had fat and oil gushing out of it as I ate. The meat was super tender and pinkish/purple aka uncooked. It was a nasty sandwich and I regretted it dearly :( Hong Kong — Tried out their Jasmine tea with Boba — it’s a bit more expensive than the going rate in the are but yum :) $ 4 – 5 Amali Mou — I tried their Greek coffee. SUPERSTRONG! The whisk it right in front of you so it’s pretty potent. It was too much for me needless to say(I’m not accustomed to coffee) so I sipped until I could and gave it away. I was told by that person that their coffee had a strong authentic taste as Europe’s. Roberta’s — Pizza is yum!!! It’s about $ 10 for a small and feeds one person. I tried telling them that I only wanted a slice but they insisted I buy a whole pie. Good idea as it’s very thin crusted, full of yummy sauce, and tastes delicious. I’m a lite eater and finished it all. I recommend the Rossa with added Mozzarella! No.7 Veggie — I tried one of their classic sandwiches(made of broccoli, mushrooms, mash, etc). It wasn’t so bad for being my first vegan dish. The portions are small so I was still hungry afterwards. Great choice for the vegetarians/vegans! I think if it were more fulfilling I’d be happier. Mayhem & Stout — The Banh Mi is a great choice for those looking to get a bang for their buck! I get it with pulled chicken. It’s about a 8−10″ sandwich, very fulfilling and yummy. The Asian flavors on it are yum :) Mimi’s Hummus — I was trying to be adventurous one day and try something new. I tried the Iraqian vegetarian Pita here. It was yucky(sorry) in my opinion lol. I threw most of it away and left unsatisfied :(Its great for those who love being super healthy. Felt like the type of dish where you would sit there crying as a child while your mom forced you to eat Brussels sprouts… :( Toby’s — We got a machiatto from here and it was worthy(usually a hit or miss with machiattos). I presume their coffee’s in general are good seeing that they always have a line going. They also have a lot of breakfast pastries to munch on. I plan to try a few times more…

Oh what a nice addition to the area, which is a wasteland of lunch options. In here, it feels like little slices of downtown and Brooklyn for our eating and drinking pleasure. The huge space has take away stalls for dozens of restos, coffee shops and bars, including Roberta’s, ovenly, Toby’s Estate, Delaney Chicken, which always has the longest line, mimi’s hummus from the Bk(I hope they soon serve their mushroom hummus in urban space– that stuff is dreamy) and Red Hook Lobster Pound. I tried one of the bowls from Two Tablespoons, the first time I popped in. The best I can describe it is: it’s one of those vegetarian places where they use fresh, bright stuff and know exactly what will mix together to taste great. Loved it. I was a bit disappointed by the weakness of the Toby’s Estate coffee, but that was mitigated by the adorableness of the cold brew coffee«shots» that are bottled and on ice at the counter. I can’t wait until spring… I was a bit let down by No. 7 Veggie, on my second trip there. Something called Total Vegetarian Chaos & Destruction veggie burger has a lot to live up to, admittedly, but it was so bland it felt like I was eating a pile of cardboard of different textures. So sad. And honestly, the guy handing out the lunches was pretty rude. He gave me the wrong thing and was super surly about fixing it. Rude. The space is chaos! especially between 12−2pm when it’s the mad lunchtime rush. If going then, i seriously recommend taking things to go. The food stalls are on their game so it won’t take too long but you totally don’t want to fight for picnic table space at peak hours. There are maybe a dozen picnic tables in the open room in the back surrounded by resto stalls, but yes people will knock into you constantly if you’re sat on the outside edge of the table area. I have heard that after 2pm it calms down quite a bit, so bring your group for a late lunch. There are a few bars inside and some of the restos serve drinks in the pm, with tempting happy hour specials. That is next on the agenda!

Food market with vegan options, coffee, and alcohol… well you know I’m there. Michael and I were in search of Veggie No 7 and happily found them here, along with Asia Dog and Toby’s Estate Coffee. It’s a large open space with communal seating, definitely a great spot for a date night or to bring a group of friends for eats/drinks. As far as food I’m a fan of the seitan/mushroom burger from Veggie No 7 with guac and sautéed onions, which in my honest opinion, is one of the better vegan burgers I’ve tried. Unfortunately not all the sides from Veggie7 were vegan! The veggie dogs from Asia dog were scrumptious and 2 dogs for $ 10 is a great way to sample diff hotdogs between two hungry Unilocalers. Although no vegan pastries were to be found, there was a food vendor with caramel popcorn(vegan of course) that will help you with your cravings. Overall I’m very happy to find this food market so close to work, especially since I can pick up a cheat meal here :-)

This is probably my favorite food hall/food court that I’ve visited, and it brings some really good food options to midtown. The set-up is convenient — lots of seating in the center. I went around 1:15pm on a weekday and didn’t have any issues; however it was more difficult to find a table around 6:30 with everyone lounging around enjoying their beers. The fried chicken sandwich from Delaney Chicken was really good — crispy, juicy, simple. Bee sting pizza from Roberta’s is a classic. No 7 veggie burger«total vegetarian chaos» was delicious, very flavorful. The broccoli taco was interesting, but I didn’t love it — very tangy. HK street cart’s wings were pretty bomb, similar to bonchon. Mayhem & Stout’s «dragon» sandwich is huge and satisfying. One of my favorites was Bar suzette’s fish and chips, which were surprisingly so good! Super crispy batter, tender fish, excellent chips. They have a good mix of vendors and cuisines, making it easy to eat relatively healthy without sacrificing enjoyment. I like the smallish portions because it allows you to try a few things, expect to pay $ 12 – 15 per person. For me, it’s not a high price to pay sample some trendy and delicious food in a cool space.

Great option for lunch in Midtown East. I have heard a lot of people talking about this new food hall located a stone’s throw away from my office. Today, I was feeling somewhat jaded with my normal go-to spots so I decided to check this place out for the first time. It was crowded around 12:30 pm, but it was not overbearing. This place is awesome! Walked through the door and was handed some complimentary popcorn — thanks, Kettle Corn NYC! The food hall is fairly large with vendors located along the walls with seating in the middle. Talk about options — the space is occupied with 20 vendors serving a variety of food and drink items. Some names that caught my eye immediately included Red Hook Lobster Pound, Roberta’s, and Takumi Taco. Bushwick is not very close to where I live in the UES, the line was manageable, and I was jonesing for some pizza — looks like I am ordering from Roberta’s. I went with the«Famous Original,» which was $ 10 for a 12 inch pie — fairly reasonable in my opinion. It tasted, as one would expect, unbelievably super awesome. Urbanspace is a welcomed addition to the area. I definitely recommend trying it sometime.

UrbanSpace Vanderbilt is a God send especially if you happened to be staying at The Roosevelt Hotel. Once inside, UrbanSpace has a co-op food court mini-mall style, with businesses adjoining each other. They have everything here from Tacos to pizza, but what intrigued my attention was Toby’s Estate coffeehouse. Their cappuccino was fantastic and since The Roosevelt Hotel does not provide coffee maker in every room, this was the better option and it’s literally one block away. Dough is another business that specializes in donuts and I recommend getting their passion fruit donuts. It was fantastic and their donuts were mammoth! In case you were wondering what businesses are currently inside the UrbanSpace Vanderbilt, they are as follows: 1. Toby’s Estate(coffee house soooo good) 2. Maiden Lane 3. Two Tablespoons 4. Sips & Bites 5. Mayhem & Stout 6. Dough(they serve ginormous donuts with unique glazed flavors) 7. A. B. Biagi 8. Sigmund’s 9. Red Hook Lobster Pound 10. Mimi’s Hummus 11. Takumi Taco 12. Ovenly 13. AsiaDog 14. Bar Suzette 15. La Palapa 16. Hong Kong Street Cart 17. Delaney Chicken 18. Amali Mou 19. Bangkok B.A.R. 20. Roberta’s 21. No. 7 Veggie Think of UrbanSpace Vanderbilt like Food Trucks in California, except they’re all indoors, and perfect during the winter time especially with all the snow! :p Their hours of operations are: Mon — Fri: 6:30AM — 9PM and Sat –Sun: 9AM — 5PM. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p
