AMAZINGMUSIC. but beware of the bartender! Be sure to tip her well every single time, she ignored me for 25 minutes and told me that’s what I get for not tipping well– this was related to me AGAIN by the other bartender who agreed to serve me and blatantly let me know that his colleague would not serve me because she didn’t appreciate her tip. I completely understand that many bartenders don’t earn a fair wage but that was really crossing the line. Especially when we had gone back 4 or 5 times to order drinks. Definitely a reason to not come back here.

— This place is so cool and unique. It’s not some huge major restaurant chain, but it feels much more intimate. Their menu is tailored more toward the gourmet side. Their unlimited mimosas on Sundays for brunch($ 13.00) are SO good. Nice and strong. 8 of us came here for my birthday and we were treated very well, serviced only lacked a bit… when we were looking for refills on either water or the mimosas. I had the Three’s Company Omelette with the home fries. Delicious.

Great brunch, nice servers. The open windows make for a perfect brunch atmosphere and great lighting. The best eggs benedict I’ve had in the city!

Place looks a bit rough around the edges but the bartenders are friendly and make some interesting cocktails. Not a big beer program; I think that there were six taps. Did not try the food. Place was mostly full on a Saturday about 2:00PM. Background music was something current. As I recall the VBar down by the Seaport is much nicer.

I completely missed the part where Vbar is also a restaurant? We were too busy dancing away in that tiny space between the bar and tables. Luckily they let us in even though it looked like max capacity at midnight on a Saturday. People tend to hover by the front so there was plenty more space in the back. Cheaper drinks than we had to start the night. Bartenders were dancing along to the music. A fun environment to let go and enjoy your night. One gin and tonic, and one vodka cranberry later I was still wishing drinks were stronger! A great option if you are bar hopping in East Village! They brought back classic old school hip hop and RnB songs i.e. B.I.G., T-Pain and Snoop. Very few top 40/edm; frankly such a refreshing change in nightlife scene. Definitely not grungy like pubs or far on the classy side, but casual enough for jeans! Can’t wait to introduce this gem to more people.

Really enjoyed my weekend happy hour experience at Vbar! We were lucky enough to get one of the corner booth areas by the windows. The cocktails were reasonably priced and a few bucks cheaper because of happy hour — I think 6 a piece. We had the Mac and Cheese as well as an order of the fries. Yum!

Nice bar. Good vibe, with nice Windows on the corner. It had a good crowd around 6 on a Thursday evening. They don’t have much of a draft beer selection but we found something we liked. We got an order of the hand cut fries, which were good. The service was fine, not particularly friendly and the waitress made a mistake on our beer order, but it was no big deal. Nothing to complain about.

It was my first time going here and I figured I’d come here on a date with a girl. Everything went well and our waiter was really friendly and provided great service. I just thought our waiters became a little impatient with my date and me because they kept asking us if we needed anything. It was just a little overbearing since I felt I had to keep answering them every 10 minutes when I was just trying to eat, drink, and talk with my date. It was also really hard to talk since the music was just way too loud and I kept finding myself constantly asking my date to repeat herself and vice versa because it so hard to hear each other over the music. If this place can improve on these points next time, I’ll definitely change my rating because I think this bar is so cool! Just needs some work

Ambiance was nice(music kind of loud but I was sitting right by the speakers). We got the cocktails, «Black and Bubbly» and«Lexington» and both tasted like prosecco. Our server was super-attentive and friendly. We ordered the hanger steak sandwich and the chicken sandwich which were both great!

I’ve only been here once, but I enjoyed the overall vibe. Their music choice was more lively then I expected and also featured a fair amount of throwback hits, which were perfect for starting my Saturday night. Definitely a casual spot for hanging out with a group of friends or a second date where you’re reconnecting not so much introducing yourself – a tad bit loud. Trendy cocktails but nothing overly creative or hipster.

V bar is at the top of my list of best restaurant/bars in the village. It’s a perfect spot to chill with a few drinks with great ambiance for a date. The food and drinks are really good but what makes V bar special is the staff. V Bella, a bartender there, is especially amazing. I can never decide what to drink, and she never lets me down with her creative cocktail concoctions. I highly encourage all to go to V bar, ask for V Bella, and enjoy the best cocktail of your life. She’s great company too!

Where do I start? Maybe with the phenomenal, interesting drinks. Maybe with my obsession with the aphrodisiac truffle fries. Maybe with the undeniable friendships I’ve cultivated with both staff and other locals. V bar is my alcoholic home away from home. As well as the place I go to for happy hour or a cappuccino with a good book on their comfy corners, perfectly suited for people-watching in the ever-interesting St Marks. First, their cucumber martini — there hasn’t been a single time I’ve come in that I haven’t ordered this drink in the slew. It’s the exact amount of refreshing and tasty. The Lady Blossom is saved for special occasions, not because of a price difference(of which there is none from the cocktail list) but rather the experience of elegance and refinement you have when tasting and observing the beauty of such a drink. Bubbles and rose syrup in a unexpected beautiful champagne flute. Tequila made — As a tequila fanatic, I’m more than pleased by the wide selection they have amongst their eclectic and expansive collections of liquors. This drink is surprisingly welcomed any season, almost any mood. The mixed berry Caipirinha — I’m sorry, I have not seen many other bars serve this exceptional Brazilian drink, and the twist V Bar puts on it is memorable. Lexington, Bitter Lord, and the Black & Bubbly are all the refinement of whisky/bourbon drinks. Even though everyone is weary of a watermelon infused drink, V Bar hits the spot. Do not be afraid. Their selective list of beers is wholly satisfying and their wine list pleasurable. But the most important part of V Bar is the experience you have there. Even in the most drama-filled nights I’ve never come away regretful. This is the most community-filled experience bar I’ve been to in East Village, not to mention the whole of Manhattan. Don’t be misled though — I have met my fill of tourists here and they have nothing but positive things to say as well. In a city that generally scoffs at them, V Bar manages to be inclusive and representative of the weirdness of NYC while showing its pride and class. The bartenders and servers — I don’t know how to explain how absolutely lovely they are. I am guaranteed a fun, distracting, cathartic, and/or blunt night from them. They are my friends and have become my family. There are hardly any bartenders in NYC who enjoy analyzing personal problems with a patron, and V Bar is certainly not one of them. They will not indulge you in your ignorance, they will confront you on the personal issues you try to bring up with them. But if you strike up a relationship with them or become a regular you will gain a family friend unlike any other. Let me start with V Bella– even though not the first bartender I’ve encountered here or anywhere else, she has immediately become my favorite. She is funny, on top of things, beautiful, a guru, and a liquor master. Although currently only working on Thursdays here she is everybody’s favorite. This professional is one of V Bars most valuable assets. Kenzie — I’m so upset that he’s on his year long sabbatical in Hong Kong, but this shows V Bar’s absolutely brilliant discretion in who they hire. Those who have taken up his impressive presence here have done a phenomenal job. Especially our new beloved Ann! Gustavo — this darling is indescribable. A charming boss with a melt-your-and-his-own-heart personality. Always a friend. And incredibly cute if you’re interested. The servers: Shelby, Sahil, Diana. All so lovely and fun. Constant attention to you, your order, and the detail of service. All also beautiful and personable. Always worth the tip for service. Ultimately, I’m bias I’ll admit because I love each and every one of them. But I would argue for good reason. The universal utility of this bar/café in combination with their product, servers, family, and patrons makes one of my favorite bars and most importantly, homes in NYC.

Good location. Service was great. Waitress is friendly and food came out pretty quick. The cocktails were not so good. Their description implied a sweet flavor, but all of them came out with a sour flavor. Would recommend going with the draft or bottle drinks instead.

Vbar is a good and pretty standard bar. The beer selection isn’t huge, but has a few good choices of the slightly more craftish variety like Goose Island. Service is pretty friendly though a little slow. It is very nice in the summer when the doors are opened and you can sit with fresh air, otherwise it gets a bit dark and dreary.

Was intrigued at first by the ambience, and repulsed at last by the food/drinks. Prosecco + whiskey. sounds yummy! So so so off the mark. Warm/flat Prosecco and warm whiskey = tastes like the bottom of a bar mat. Caramelized onions on the burger? yum! Nooo — they were just pan fried until they became black little worms. Fries yay! Mehhhhhh most likely cooked from frozen. Wouldn’t recommend anything other than starting your night off here and then leaving after one drink. Avoid at all costs if its a first/second date. you will be screaming across the 1 square foot table. +1 for decent music +1 for dark ambience/candles inset in brick –1 for server with a pony tail down to her buttocks, which whipped my gf in the eye numerous times(not even joking, she had to block it with her hand when she saw her coming). which was just awkward because you feel bad for the server because she is oblivious to it. –2 mehhh food/drinks

A cozy wine bar in the west village. Great for catching up with friends, getting pre-dinner drinks, introducing your SO to the parents, and everything else you can imagine. If you’re looking for eye candy or hoping to make a new friend, you may want to head down the block since you probably won’t make any new friends here.

It’s super cramped Chairs aren’t comfortable + its loud. They wanna be trendy etc, with the décor/set up/vibe they have many drink specials Probably because you’d have to be drunk to enjoy their food. Definitely NOT a romantic quiet date spot with excellent service. This is where you meet your friends, have 1 martini & then go elsewhere With either more leg room + better chairs Where you can hear each other Better food & drink. I definitely wouldn’t recommended a meal there Oh, & did I say it was super cramped? Yea… it’s cramped in there too !

The place looks inviting enough, a lot of people seem to hang out here, the service is good — so why serve bad tasting drinks and food? We were hungry and looked for a place to eat, dropped in here by chance. Service was good and rather attentive. Drink menu looked interesting, but when they came out, they were quite horrendous(unfortunately I can’t remember their names, but mine had whisky and cinnamon in it, if remembered correctly). We started by sharing a plate of artichokes, which was ok. My friend had a meat burger, and I went with a veggie one. Imagine my surprise when my friend’s burger arrive with a buttery, nice bread, and mine with a completely different one(not a burger bread by my definition, in Sweden I would use it as a breakfast bread — hönökaka). I was exteremely disappointed with my burger, especially in comparison with my friend’s better looking one. I can only imagine that they use another type of bread as some people eat vegetarian food for it being healthy? Boring burger, boring things on the burger, and cold fries. Had I not been so darn hungry(and shocked), I would have sent it back and asked for another bread Really, V Bar, this is all you can do?

Yummy !

V-Bar is a cool spot for day or night. I’ve been here a handful of times and here are my TIPS for enjoying this cool East Village spot: — During the summer(or nice weather) they open the big windows which is grrrreat for people watching — Not only can you drink here at night, but you can also bring your laptop and work during the day(free wifi, ask the bartender for the code). Or alternatively you can get coffee, espresso or iced tea– they also have a selection of pastries — Bartenders are super nice — 2 Bathrooms in the back(unisex) — A few couch like areas near the front
