Surprisingly GOOD Italian. High quality and simple interior. You wont go wrong and better than restaurants 5 times more expensive. Great panini too. A Surprise and nice.

This is probably my favorite coffee place ! My first stop in the morning. Also great cookies. Had a salad there few times — always fresh and tasty. Great place for a quick lunch. I really like the service there. Nice to see the same faces.

Food is ok, but service is below average. The waiters were so busy having conversation by themselves even though it’s an quiet afternoon and waiters clearly outnumbered customers, never bother offer me full menu or tap water or any kind of friendly check in.

Very very small space and pricey but it’s upper east side where all the riches are so the rent must be so high. I came here after work out near by today(Sunday)…the place was so crowded so I have to take out, I hate crowded place. The sandwich I had was OK with shrimp and vegetable wrapped by prosciutto… cost $ 13.50. The tiramisu tho, it’s one of the best I ever have but it costs $ 10.00 :’(. Overall it was a good treat for myself. I will come back for tiramisu.

I ate my lunch Panini here after I went to an exhibition at the MET. Panini was good, but very UES price. Customers are dressed very casually, but some of them carry really nice bags. So I believe they live in the neighborhood. The only place I can afford eating with real UES residents. Ha ha…

Try to grab a spot by the one window unless if you like cavernous décor. Mimosa was so so but the panninis are consistently delicious. Good Italian beer selection as well according to him. Ended our brunch with the tri gelato and it did not disappoint.

This is a complete shithole. It’s extremely tiny and uncomfortable, be prepared for someone rubbing against you every fe seconds. The chairs will make you hate your body. On top of that I paid $ 128 for 4 panninis l, a salad and sodas. Holy shot, I can’t believe people actually like this place!

Service was wonderful don’t get me wrong… But the cakes I bought were terrible. Beyond not good. I walked in before a visit to The Met and knew I’d be in to spend a pretty penny so that wasn’t the issue. What completely shocked me was the cost of one of the cakes on display. It was an apple cake, something I had to go. It was very small, and seemed to taste as if it came right from a package! What really got me was that it was 7.50 $. The same cost as one of their bigger, and better looking tarts(it was rung up as one as well, even though it wasn’t what I ordered). I checked with the cashier on the price and she assured me it was correct. I was floored. I was given two slices of the pound cake(also tasted like something I’d expect from a package) for 4 $. But this terrible cake? Twice as much? I paid. And left to never return. My sister and I ended up throwing everything away it tasted so bad. Disappointing really.

such a cute place after a walk in Central Park~ good dating location as well. the signature award winning sandwich is rather salty, I like the Milanese(I think it’s called this) a lot better~ but just personal preference.

VQ is my favorite coffee shop on the upper east side. I love to come here for their cappuccino and panini during the afternoon. The restaurant is small(it has a back room) and it gets filled up quickly during lunchtime. They are famous for their cappuccino but their other espresso drinks are good also. If you liked panini, definitely try one of their paninis here. The bread’s toasted just right, so it’s crispy and flaky, the meats sandwiched between the 2 slices of bread(depending on what you order) make the panini so heavenly delicious. They also have pasta and deserts on the menu which I am sure are good as well, but get their paninis!!! Forget about Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, next time, bring a friend to visit VQ and have a lunch & coffee break there. The owner and servers there are very nice. I even got free cookies one time when I went there with my sister :).

via quadronno, I always will down to go to this place. This place is very cozy, and intimate, perhaps a bit squizzy. their food is not extravagant either. I could taste every single component in their salad and sandwich. The combination is amazing and very moderate. Nothing taste too much just the way it has to be. The best thing they have is tiramisu. It is one of the best in the world. I highly recommend #1, 2 on dessert menu. Its the best. I never liked tiramisu, but after i tried tiramisu here on my last year of college, it changed my view of the whole concept of dessert. So as tiramisu. TRYTHEIRTIRAMISUONCEINYOURLIFETIME. when it comes to price, its not so cheap. If two ppl goes their, you should expect $ 50 at the least. each menu is not too cheap and amount is tiny. But it totally worth

Cute place, a solid 4 stars. I came here with my mother on a cold day after a walk in Central Park for a late lunch. It was perfect for the part! This establishment is located in the bottom half of a older brownstone building, so it’s a bit narrow, but charming nonetheless. As other reviewers noted, they are known for their excellent Tirimesu(which looked divine!), however I did not try. Their menu monstly consists of sandwiches and soups containing thoughtful flavors and high quality ingredients. I wouldn’t advise coming here if you’re looking for ‘more bang for your buck’ as the amount of food served isn’t enormous, however I enjoyed it very much and would return. Something I appreciated personally — they give individual tea pots to whomever orders tea. Very cute!

My favorite café to visit before or after a day at the Met. The paninis are delicious and the meats are high quality. The insalata di capri is one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I’m not a coffee drinker but the friends I’ve gone with have spoken highly of their drinks. Service is great although I prefer to sit in the back or in the front windows as the area by the bar can feel a little hectic.

Since when do you impose to your customers to pay twice 20% of tips? Food is okay. Service is terrible.

Got take-out lunch from here Pros: — Holy moly the tiramisu here is amazing — literally melts in your mouth — yes its $ 10.50 for a piece(come here with a date so you guys can split the goodie and the bill) — The tentazione is packed with prosciutto and shrimp — really small sandwich for the price of $ 13.50 but the ingredients are really fresh; I just wished the baguette was ‘slightly’ toasted Cons: — Pricey — Small portion sizes

During my recent trip to NY, I had some free solo time to visit the MET. After about 3.5 hours of walking around, I was ready for a late lunch. I found Via Quadronno via Unilocal and decided to drop by. It’s a lovely little café, and I loved the ambiance! When I entered, I had to get the attention of one of the 3 servers who passed me a couple of times to request a seat for lunch. He pointed me to the seat directly in front of the entrance where another diner was just finishing up. I sat down after a few minutes and was given a menu. The prices seemed a tad high, but acceptable for UES. Although $ 8 for a bottle of Peroni??? I ordered the simple pancetta panini with mustard, and it was delicious! Simple — but delicious. I wouldn’t say amazing. Overall, a lovely place to cozy up with your date, or even have a peaceful meal by yourself.

Our large group, 10 people, one of them an infant, arrived for lunch on Sunday around 12:30PM. We had called to make reservation, but we were no reservations are taken(though we later bumped into someone who said that they do reservations). We ended up waiting considerably bit longer then the hostess told us — about 45 minutes, though she came outside a few times to give us updates and offer us other seating options. The ambiance inside was great, with the bustle of a lively café, and the air filled with the aroma of coffee and bread. We sat down in the back, and our server quickly brought us a bread basket filled with slices of bread topped with oil and herbs. We ordered a variety of options from the menu, all decently priced for the Upper West side. The selection of sandwiches was great, and there were a number of good hot entrée options as well. My wife and I ordered the risotto and the Orchidea sandwich to share($ 22 and $ 13.50, respectively). The food came out quickly and pleasantly presented, nothing fancy. The food serving as were on the small side, with the risotto a disappointing 2 cm deep on a appetizer sized plate. What we got tasted good, but there wasn’t much of it. We stole a bite of the lasagna, as well, and would recommend it. There was only one bathroom for the whole restaurant, so go easy on the water and coffee. The wait time lost the restaurant at least one star on this review, especially with our expectation set by staff that we would only have to wait for about 15 minutes total. All in all, I think this would be a nice restaurant for a lunch date. It has all the feel of a romantic nook, with small portions for your meal and coffee and gelato after. Maybe after you fill up a little bit here, you can go down the block and grab a second meal!

Trusty Unilocal app strikes again! Straight win leading me here… Came here with a friend pre concert at Central Park… We wanted to just grab a quick bite so we ordered the granseola al palmiere and crostini do polenta … GETINHEREANDORDERTHEPOLENTA… I love polenta. You can have it multiple ways for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I like that about polenta… Anyway, I had it with melted Swiss cheese all over it and it was extremely rich but light tasting at the same time. The perfect mix of cheese and polenta in one bite… We really enjoyed that dish. The other was the granseola al palmiere which was lump crab meat over asparagus and tomatoes on the side… The crab meat was fresh and there was a good sized portion and the asparagus was nice and sautéed. This is a cold dish. I thought our ordering combo was good. The hot and cold dishes really hit the spot and I would def come here again and I highly recommend it. I plan on revisiting for the tiramisu and cappuccino

My sweetie met me on the UES for a quick dinner break while I’m in an all day seminar. Their list of sandwiches definitely enticed me and service was speedy in getting them to our tiny table. The braesola, Camembert and sliced lemon was to die for… but at $ 14.50, I would have liked them to be a little larger. The quality was definitely there, though, and I would return to try more of their menu. The vibe they put out was og legit.

This is one of the few restaurants that I like on the Upper East Side. Most people knock this place cause of the prices and/or cause of the size of the sandwiches. Yes, the prices are a little high(avg of $ 12 for the specialty sandwiches) and yes, the sandwiches are smaller(about 1⁄3 smaller than regular NY deli sandwiches), but these aren’t ordinary deli sandwiches. You’re paying for the quality of the meats, cheeses and bread, partly the location, partly the labor(they’re all served warm) and for the ability to have a sandwich comparable to what you would get in Italy. My favorite is the Miraggio(mortadella with provolone and parsley) along with the black olive tapenade. I would not come here and get any of the pastas or entrees — I think a lot of the negative reviews are people who ordered those items. Stick with their specialty — the warm Italian-style sandwiches, as well as their Italian cookies and cappuccino… you can’t go wrong.
