Booked a table for NYE here and it was fun, great music, open bar till 2am for the night, and danced all night ! Some issues that made us rethink ever getting another table here . 1. We paid the bottle girl extra to take care of us all night and she only came to our table once the whole night. Never came back to ask us if we need anything. 2. All of us booked the table together and the reason why we liked the VIP deal over other clubs was because it stated we would get 2 bottles of champaign and 1 bottle of vodka. Well we only got one of Each. When I nicely confronted the girl she basically said I was a liar and I had no proof ! I was pretty upset that I was treated that way, but I didn’t let it ruin the night. 3. The deal also said we would get hor doeuvres(snacks) and they came to our table once with BBQ chicken and that was it . Overall I will come back to VIP room just for a regular night out with friends but I will never buy a table or VIP package through them again, the scammed us for our money and they were rude and didn’t care about the service they said we would receive.

It is a massive scam. They try to scam you at every stage. When you get in line, a bouncer comes up and says you pay $ 30 and I can get you in quick. Then you spend 30 minutes in «fast line» to get in. Once you get in, the register says its $ 40 per person to get it. Obviously, we didn’t pay!!’ They create a huge line to make you think it’s a popular club. AVOID; avoid; avoid;

I came here for an event and didn’t even get passed the coat check line before I gave up on the place. I decided to skip the long coat check line and hold my light jacket for the rest of the night. Instead of telling me that coat check was mandatory the bouncer at the entrance just nodded at me and shined his light at me again and again until I guessed what the problem was. When I got back to the end of the long coat check line another bouncer asked me why I was wasting my time on the line when I could just walk right in. The bouncers have zero communication skills with the customers and obviously with each other. Never coming back here again.

Super long lines and people who kept asking me for money despite our promoter having done his job, terrible service, and bad music. I know music decently well but only recognized like 2 of every 5 songs. Even with bottle service and plenty of strong drinks, place overall was still very meh. Pretty big dance floor.

Pretty ladies get stamped/free entry. If not its $ 20. There’s s $ 7 mandatory coat check. Music was cool. Vip tables small. Went on a Saturday night. It was cool.

The legality of their mandatory coat check can be called into question. There is no forewarning of said coat check until after one pays the cover charge to get in, which according to the law there must be. When I called this into question before entering I was called a bitch and pushed by the owner and a security guard. I didn’t even have the desire to go in in the first place, but the owner yelled in my face and said I don’t know who the fuck you think you are but this is my club and you are not coming in. As a young woman, having a man touch me, for no reason, as I was just using my words is beyond me. I was called a bitch by a middle aged man for having a valid point, I’m a 22 year old woman, and he was acting juvenile and disrespectful. I never had the desire to step foot in your shitty club anyway trust me, I think I’ll be okay.

Before planning out my review for VIP room, I thought to myself, maybe I really do need some anger management when I described this place to all my friends. However, after seeing the rest of the reviews for this club, I realized I’m not delusional after all. Look this is located in the heart of the meatpacking district, so over here it is all about $ and politics of who you know, it is super hard to get into this place. I am blessed to have encountered a promoter max for my best friend’s birthday, he really hooked it up for the party of 4 [3 girls one guy] after 12 pm where prices usually surge. We did not have to wait in line for more then 5 minutes because Max squeezed us in through his list without even needing a stamp, wonderful. However nobody told us that no stamp=cover charge. Anyway, there was an obnoxious rude condescending arrogant bouncer who checked ID’s and stamped by the ironic name of Angel. The lines were disorganized so he screamed at me to get out the way when I was frickin follow instructions for ID check, how can you get mad for standing in your way when I am giving you my ID to check and do your job. Even worse, my boyfriend got harassed because he didn’t know that no stamp = cover charge, how can you yell at my innocent boyfriend if he is not aware of your policy, of course he does not know he just cut the whole line with Max, you do not have to get nasty over 40 dollars it is not like he refused to pay, he simply did not know! After all my friends and I got harassed despite having a wonderful promoter, we decided to head to the dancefloor which looked like a zoo. I kid you not, every single person pushed me, shoved me, spilled their drink on me, they did not say excuse me. Yes I almost knocked out 20 people, including men and women I did not even care at this point. What happen to respect and manners?!, what a bunch of savages. We went over to say hello to a popular promoter named Mao who was very generous and friendly at first with drinks [my boyfriend was non existent to him but he had drink tickets anyway]. This promoter barely watches over his table, and he was way too touchy and feely with the birthday girl after meeting her in the first half hour [he forcibly moved her hands to his crotch, and he kissed her all over when she never even flirted or hit on him, he just assumed she was his property because he was doing us this favor of hooking it up with drinks]. um hello it’s called doing your job, no girl is obligated to do anything for you aside from spreading the good word about your kind generosity. I also did not appreciate the girls dancing on top of the furniture, the tables, the ledges, they almost fell on top of me and one thot had her ass literally sitting on the top of my head when she was twerkin, you call this a classy establishment?! The place itself is beautiful with cool lighting effects all across, but the tables were right by the entrance do you know how uncomfortable that is for people to get in and out, they need to rearrange table service ! The sound system was bad, sure the music was great with top 40 hits to house and rap, all that new good stuff, but the sound was going in and out so they had some technical difficulties, is this really what people pay for? My suggestion is to come here as early as possible so you can get decent seating if you sit with a promoter, but ladies beware of your surroundings and who you socialize with, and be aware of the mandatory coat check of 7 dollars and make sure you get stamped! Do not come here if you seek a friendly crowd, it is ratchet!

If I could do 0 stars I would. This place is 110% horrible don’t waste your time unless your spending a bunch of money on bottles to get in, even if you are you will probably still get horrible service. I went with a friend for someone’s birthday party, we get there and the line is extremely long. As we wait people were cutting and the bouncer continued to let people in without waiting. So I was over the whole situation and wanted to see what the table minimum was so we didn’t have to wait. I tried asking and some raggedy bitch with a black bubble Montclair jacket was outside ignoring people, when I approached her to ask my question she told me not to touch her and was so rude. And I also feel like she ignored be because I’m BLACK, and I wasn’t worth her time. I honestly hate shit like that. If you want to waste your time then absolutely go to VIP room.

This club DOESNOT even deserve THAT one star. I have been to some of the best clubs this city has to offer, and VIPROOM is just not one of them. This club REEKS of ATTITUDE, and most of it is from the bouncers and staffs. Apparently waiting in line for two hours for a birthday party invite wasn’t enough, the bouncer wouldn’t stamp any of my friends because they didn’t know the birthday boy. Out of all the people they had to single out, they chose to make my friends pay because of the color of their skin. Additionally, the bureaucracy of this club boils down to how many girls you can bring into the club. There’s a separate line that allows for any douchebaggery to enter as long as they have a a ratio of 4 girls to 1 guy. The racism and boorishness of this club is evident even before you step inside. So the question is, why do would you even spend your Friday or Saturday nights here when there are better clubs out there?

Meat packing. Do I need to say anything else? $ 16 for my wine, plus a $ 3 convenience fee. Was that VAT? Am I supposed to tip on top of that? Yeah I think I am. So $ 21 for a glass of wine, when I’m pretty sure the bottle cost $ 12. I did get to hear Talib Kweli perform for about ten minutes… was it worth waiting 3 hours? Probably not. Was it funny to hear him bash the financial world when a finance company was hosting the event & paying him? YES. Talib Kweli FTW.

If I had not been with my best friend who is an absolute joy and a pleasure to be with(and dance with) — I would say this is an average club. I really believe that they need to up their sanitation standards. The floor, couches and platforms were soaking wet with God knows what — lol. The music was to our liking as most of the other clubs were only playing house. Lots of hip hop and top 40. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Nothing compared to Vegas clubs but can provide you a more than decent time in NYC with the right people.

First of all, what is this place??! My friend and I were club hopping in meatpacking, and we saw a line for the next place around the corner and got on line. The bouncer 1. Was inappropriate with me– and asked my friend if I was his girlfriend.(I’m not), but my friend said yes because he didn’t want him to hassle me. 2. The bouncer asks us for the door fee, but on the way in another guy asks us for $ 40 and $ 20. 40 for guys, 20 for girls. We told him we had paid already and we started arguing with him and the bouncer, who came inside like a deer in the headlights and handed my friend the money. We then got in for $ 40, because the bouncer was just trying to make some profit. Another security guard then yells at us to do coat check-$ 7. Mandatory coat check!!! This place is all money. Inside, it’s packed. Crowded actually, and there are girls standing on tables dancing. Everyone looks to be about 16, and now I understand where their money comes from. The infamous sign ‘Fuck Water, Drink Champagne’ was there, with crowds of teenagers pushing each other to get a photo. When I went to the bathroom, I tried taking a piece of candy, and the girl told me that ‘you have to pay for that’. The music was all Top 40, and everyone was dancing on tables and chair tops. They seem to draw a large teen crowd, but this is completely ridiculous. Bad staff, bad look for some of NYC’s best nightlife, and bad prices. Never again.

The music was not that great, DJ was playing whatever he felt like, he did not pay attention to club members and to which songs they go crazy to. He would play whole bunch of hip hop even though it didn’t seem to move a lot of people, when he switched to some dance, techno or even 90s pop people would go crazy, so why not continue with that type of music? Very annoying. The only thing I liked was the fact that it was not overcrowded, so we were able to freely dance and move around. I must say I’ve heard of VIP room and always wanted to check it out, but was highly disappointed. At least I got in for free, which is a plus.

My experience tonight was absolutely horrible from the bouncer to the guest list woman down to the hostess. Everyone had an absolute attitude when I asked them a question. I came out for a great time with the girls(bachelorette weekend). I had arrangements to be on a guest list with no cover charge and complimentary bottle service. After explaining that, the bouncer took one look at me and literally gave me the dirtiest look and told me and my group to go to the back of the line. Although annoyed, I patiently waited in line while the bouncer stamped everyone’s hand and let them go in. The stamp = no cover. So after waiting in the front of the line while the bouncer let everyone behind me in, @ 12 midnight he finally gave the ok for our ID’s to be scanned. I realized that we didn’t get stamped and once we got to the next bouncer inside. We were told to show our stamps and if we didn’t, then we would have to pay a $ 20 cover. I was super upset and went back to the bouncer to ask why we didn’t get a stamp. He basically explained that because we were getting comp tables we needed to at least pay cover. What!!! He was like if not we should buy a bottle. Like is he for real?! He was absolutely disgusting. Once inside my connect told me to reach out to a promoter who would get us set up with our table… He explained he couldn’t do anything about the bouncer or the coat check. But he said we would have a good time. So after forking up $ 120 for the 6 girls I was with, we were told we needed to check our jackets which were another $ 7 a piece. I’m like you gotta be freaking kidding me. So after paying, I was still trying to not let all these disgusting attitudes throw me off. I went back to trying to reach the promoter, only this time he completely stopped answering my text messages. I could tell he read my messages bc he had an iPhone too. The thing was he wasn’t answering. I went back to the guest list woman at the door and tapped her on her shoulder to ask her if I could speak to her. She looked at me with the nastiest attitude and responded«I’m working». I was like I know, it’s reference to your list. I explained I never got shown to my table and she said I need to contact my friend to figure that out. I then went to ask a hostess whether they could direct me to the promoter and she had no clue what I was talking about. At this point, I was so over the whole experience. I was annoyed and couldn’t even bring myself to even have a good time. We stayed for a little bc I didn’t want to ruin everyone’s night but we ended up leaving and will never come back again. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Even after you pay cover they are incredibly rude. My first and last time ever stepping foot into that venue.

ATTENTIONGIRLS! THEPROMOTERSAREROBBERS! I have been to the VIP Room with some promoter called Mike. The first thing I have to say is: He was very touchy. My friend told me that this is normal. Okay. So I went outside to smoke a cigarette, and mike followed me and asked me for one. I gave one to him and asked where I can get a new package. He said he can get one for me. So I gave him 20 $ — he went off and never came back. When I asked the personnel on the front door — nobody knew Mike. So I thought: maybe he actually not even is a real promoter. But he brought us to the club and got bottles from the personnel. So PLEASE girls… Do never ever trust the promoters. They touch you and it seems that they steel money. Luckily I am a journalist and have a picture of him — so this is my perfect story. So it was not my money — and I just tried certain cases at this club. My summary: never ever again.

Start off by saying me and my girlfriends came right after dinner at 10:30 and were first in line. We waited until about 11:15ish. It wasn’t bad but I feel like there was all hype for no reason. +1 star for the light décor in the main room and the fact that bored females could sit on the ledges without being shooed off by the bouncers –1 for the SLEEZY and unprofessional promoter whose name I wish I remembered, who tried to make it seem like me and my well dressed friends couldn’t get in on our own cos the place is EXTRA exclusive, who harassed other people and me and my friends at the door –1 for the DJ who played the outfield– your love, Aretha Franklin, black eyed peas, fergie, and the most random crap ever. For a club that promotes itself for being high end and exclusive and disses girls who don’t wear heels– your resident DJ is extra basic. Could do better at a bar. –1 for the crowd. Felt like a state school campus wide sorority and fraternity mixer. –1 for the hype.

I had a decent time once I sat down inside, but getting in is such a uncomfortable experience. Look, the rope for this club is harder than any club I’ve EVER been to. I’m talking Avenue, Lavo, and Provoc all had nicer door people. Not to mention I was here with a promoter, and even he complained that they were being nasty. Idk who hired these people, but telling me «merry christmas» as I entered was utterly embarrassing. They would only be able to get away with it here. On principal, I will never come back here table or no table. Life’s too short to let worms insult you. +1 star because our promoter was the kindest and did his best to make it a great experience for us. He’s the best. Also, mandatory coat check, yes even for your cute cashmere sweater and that Chanel blazer. $ 7. Oh you want to take out money to tip? $ 10 dollar fee. Infuriating.

+1 for the bartender +1 for the prices –3 for everything else, including the crappy crowd Came here for a happy hour event with $ 5 crappy beers and $ 7 well drinks. The bartender working the shift was awesome, making people custom drinks left and right. Now these aren’t world class cocktails or super crazy mixes, but they don’t taste terrible, which is all most people should ask for. He also pours with a heavy hand, especially if you chat him up(ladies, hint hint). For a happy hour event, this is a pretty terrible venue. First, the DJ sets. I love happy hour events, just because it’s supposed to be a time to chat and get to know others better. I do not, however, like happy hour events where you have to scream over some crappy remix of Blank Space to be heard. I do have to give props to the DJ for playing my go-to pump up song, Remix to Ignition, though! Second, the crowd here was dead. Granted, it was an all-Asian socializing event, so right off the bat, you know people were going to be in their pre-established cliques already. I worked my game and could only get a handful of decent conversations out of people. For the most part, people were either disinterested, too shy, or too socially inept at having a stimulating conversation. Third, due to the dynamic — where the social scene is dominated by groups of people that already know each other, anyone by themselves is immediately perceived as creepy. This was especially apparent when all of my female friends constantly needed help getting away from some dude that latched on to them. I came here to socialize and drink, not to babysit and protect my friends. Normally, an awesome bartender and cheap drinks should lead to an amazing night. However, given the crowd here, you’d have to really put in effort for it to be worth it. I personally ended up having a decent time, but chances of me going back here? Slim to none.

The former Kiss & Fly is now the VIP Room. A few of us came to support our friend’s first night of promoting. After walking into the dimly light place the first thing caught my eye was the neon sign. It said«Fuck Water, Drink Champagne» in red. What an awesome statement! I came here on a Wednesday during happy hour and was able to scope out the place and enjoy the music from both DJ’s. There was lots of seating which I believe to be odd but I gather people reserve a space for bottle service. On a packed night with that seating arrangement, I cannot make out where anyone would dance. Happy hour on Wednesday’s, drinks are $ 5.00 beer, $ 6.00 wine, and $ 7.00 well drinks. Over all, the service is good. I will return on a regular night to experience the party scene. I will bring $$$ on that night.
