Walker Zanger

I like Walker Zanger’s collection — their limestone, marble, porcelain, granite, and quartzite collections are very good. I have not seen such a good collection elsewhere, and placed an order for limestone, porcelain tiles, and granite with them. Their prices are high, and in some cases you can get cheaper limestone elsewhere. I ordered Travertine Palatino, Xilo white, and Bora Bora — I love all of them! They look very good in my apartment.
The reason for 3 stars is their customer service. They are friendly, but while ordering I ran into a few issues. One salesperson in New York did not hold a stone for me despite my asking her to, and I lost it to another customer. In another situation, despite my booking the granite in their NJ warehouse, I walked into their showing the stone to other customers, and I had to literally stop them and tell them that I already booked it. I received fewer tiles than ordered, and my contractor did not realize it till he installed them. WZ refused to accommodate me, and I had to purchase the tiles that I had already paid for only because I did not notify them within 1 – 2 days of delivery. It was not possible for me to count every single tile due to the packaging and sheer number of tiles. I mean, after placing such a large order obviously I would not lie to them about 5 – 7 tiles. Some of their granite stones are not in good order, and I saw a number of cracks. Due to that, I purchased the one on display. They charged me extra for buying the one on display, which was unusual.
They sent the tiles packaged extremely well, which is important because the Travertine was very delicate.
To sum up my experience, their collection is very good and I would purchase from them again in a heartbeat. Their delivery and packaging is very good. But their customer service and follow up leaves much to be desired. They are under-​staffed so they don’t always respond on time.

The service I received last year was terrible. A sales representative placed my order a month after I requested it, ordered the wrong materials, then would not admit to the fault. I am sure there are other more competent salespeople there.
