I was nervous about going to a new dentist, mostly because I want to limit the amount of people who have knowledge of what an awful state my teeth are in. Lena, the dental hygienist, put all my fears to rest. The cleaning took about 20 minutes; she was quick and gentle. From experience, these two don’t usually go hand in hand, so I appreciated her efficiency. My only suggestion is to raise the volume of the music, as I had nothing but my own thoughts to entertain me, and as it turns out, I’m not that interesting. After the cleaning, she told me that I’d been doing a good job brushing my teeth. Although in my head, I was giving her the «why you always lying» face, (YouTube it) a part of me was also proud and I gave myself an imaginary gold star for impressing a dentist, which has NEVER happened before. I can’t say whether or not the cleaning was thorough enough as I am not a dentist and would need a professional’s second opinion, but my teeth certainly feel clean. Lena even took some time to demonstrate the proper teeth brushing technique. (45 degree angle!) She was very friendly, knowledgable, and open. Everyone I had contact with was really kind and welcoming. I highly recommend this office for all your dental needs!

Purchased a groupon and was a little nervous at first, but I am happy to report that I had a great experience. The office is well located on CPS. The hygienist was very knowledgeable and friendly. My gums are sensitive so I suggest asking for them to put the numbing gel on your gums so it does not hurt so much. Dr. Mayer was very friendly as well. It was a breeze, I will definitely go back.

Love my new dentist. Having just moved to NYC, it is always a pain starting over finding new care. I read the reviews on Unilocal and decided to give it a go. Her staff is knowledgeable and showed me how to change my brushing technique. I also felt like they weren’t fishing around for something to sell me like some dentists I’ve been to in the past. Looking forward to my next cleaning in 6 months.

Purchased a groupon. .Cleaning was ok. But was told I had 3 cavities. After second and third opinion. Zero Cavities. Be careful!

The most painful teeth cleaning ever! The hygienist was not there so Dr. Mayer performed the cleaning herself. That was not the greatest experience that i had. What really pushsed me over the edge with her is that I had a problem with a tooth and needed to get it treated at a specialist’s office (Endodontist) and needed my x-​rays that she took. They wanted to charge me for getting my own x-​rays! When i mentioned that all they have to do is send the email, since it is a digital copy she had the audacity to say that she is not making any money on the groupon deal that i came there with for a cleaning and therefore she must charge me for it if i want to have it and said that it was their «office policy». When i pointed out to her that nowwhere it says that charging for your OWN records is their policy and she cannot just make stuff up as she goes along, she agreed to release my x-​ray free of charge to whatever doctor i was going to see and they needed to call her to get it. What a nuisance.
Truthfully, that is just so retarded. If she was was going to give it to a doctor anyway, what was the problem giving it to me first? What else would i do with it other than give it to the doctor i am seeing later?
Would never come back…

She is a great dentist. After a really traumatic root canal that later turned into a traumatic extraction, I can say that I have a bit of dental PTSD. Wendy made me feel like she would NEVER botch up a root canal and force me to get a tooth extracted. I like that in a dentist. Also, her office is clean, peaceful, and easy to get to. Unfortunately, the prices here are SKY HIGH… I mean, really really expensive. A filling here cost almost 3 times as much as it did in my last dentist’s office, and maybe two times as much as the dentist before that. It sucks if you are on a budget or don’t have insurance, but if you are looking for a good, available, and reliable dentist, this is a good place to start.

Really easy to find near Columbus Square, just ask the doorman at the building. The lady at reception was professional and answered all my questions which is what counts. I barely had to wait any time at all after filling in my form to be seen. The nurse who got me settled in was lovely, friendly and helpful, and Dr. Mayer herself was very good and understanding of my situation (in US for 2 months, no dental) and got me on some antibiotics and painkillers for what turned out to be pericoronitis straight away. The $ 125-​for-​$ 250 voucher from Unilocal and good reviews persuaded me to pick Dr. Mayer and did not steer me wrong! The voucher covered exactly my consultation and xrays, in a stroke of luck. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mayer for friendly, professional dentistry.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Mayer. I initially went there for an exam and teeth whitening and decided to have Botox as well (hey, why not). She is clearly very experienced and I must say that her friendly manner made me totally comfortable. I am thrilled with the results on everything she did. I highly recommend this dentist. Convenient location and a very well-​run office.

Wonderful experience — Dr. Mayer is professional and goes above and beyond to make her patients feel comfortable and taken care of. I found her through a Lifebooker voucher and it was one of the best gambles I’ve ever made. I would recommend this office to everyone!

If I could Dr. Mayer 10 stars, I would. I went in for a cleaning this morning, and she was very gentle. I usually am in a lot of pain because my teeth are sensitive, but I didn’t feel anything with her. Would highly recommend her. Lucia her assistant was great too.

Great Service and View !

Great experience, my teeth feel great and are very clean. Staff and Dr. Mayer were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating with appointment times. Dr. Mayer was honest about my teeth, didn’t try to do any unnecessary procedures. Had a beautiful view of Columbus Circle, and I was in and out so fast I was able to walk around Central Park before dark.

I seriously hate going to the dentist and prior to visiting Dr. Mayer’s office I hadn’t been to one in about 5 years. (yeah, yeah I know)
I went in with a deal from Lifebooker that included a cleaning and an exam. The dental hygienist (Lucia, I think) was amazing. Probably one of the most pleasant cleanings I have had in my life.
Dr. Mayer was really nice. She took the time to actually examine my teeth and gave me honest answers and recommendations without the fear mongering. At no point was anyone trying to convince me that I need unnecessary procedures or that I have a million cavities, which is apparently common among dentists who do various online coupons.
I will definitely be going back for regular visits.

Amazing! Seriously the best dental cleaning I’ve ever had — she was so thorough but extremely gentle. I usually have so much anxiety when I go to the dentist but everyone who works at Mayer Dental is relaxed and personable. Two thumbs up!

Going to the dentist is a very traumatic experience for me and let’s face it these days with all the reviews about dentist up selling you on other products you kind of wonder if these dentist really care about their patients first.
I was referred by a friend to visit Dr. Mayer. I had two visits at this particular office. First day was for a teeth cleaning and the second to fill a cavity.
Lucia, the dental hygenist took her time with the teeth cleaning. I have a small jaw and sensitive teeth. I am so impressed on how gentle she was. Usually, other offices have to use some numbing material to calm me down.
Next day, I revisited Dr. Mayer and the last thing I did not want to hear was you need a root canal or other major work. Filling the cavity was a pleasant experience. I dread getting the needle and the sound of that drill. The reality of it all this was a good experience compared to all the other I have had in the past.
Let me tell you. Dr. Mayer is a professional dentist who understands your needs and gets to the root of the problem. In fact, I had no health insurance and Dr. Mayer provides dental insurance for those who have lost their job or need insurance for a low price.
Look forward to my dental cleaning in six month. Going to the dentist is no longer a painful experience.

I love this dental office! I just went there yesterday for a teeth whitening treatment! I got this great deal on Groupon to get the Zoom whitening for $ 100, which saved me $ 300 bucks BTW. Dr. Mayer was completely professional and made me so comfortable, I left there with a brighter smile and disposition. I would highly recommend her! Also I even plan to change over my general dental care to her office!
One more thing… the view of Central Park from the window as I sat to get my teeth whitened was pretty amazing!
