Wix Lounge

Good coworking place. Nice and polite people work there. Recently changed their policy so it’s harder to get there and you just apply they their website and will get the access to the lounge for 4 month. The place got better with less people/​being less crowded. Big plus for their coffee and tea and self service. Having a waiter and barista would be cool, but I’m just too spoiled.

If I could rent the Pope Mobile and a PA system, I would drive around shouting how happy I am with this place and their Wix products!!! I was hesitant to post a review, but I can’t hold it in anymore… I just heart the Wix brand (insert Flashdance scene of jumping feet in leg warmers. yes, they are that good).
So one dark and cold night (not really, just exaggerating for the cinematic affect) in the dark ages of 2011, I found
and my round eyes got even bigger at the wondrous excitement I felt at being able to design my own website with ease. My daughter was an infant, so I went 24 + hours #teamnosleep and created my first two websites over one weekend: one for my friend a Massage Therapist, and the other for the beautiful Helen Gedlu (Trey Songz ex-​fiancé and Chris Brown dancer). I ended up getting a job offer to become a web designer after someone saw the site I created for my friend, and Helen Gedlu tweeted out my link to her +90K Twitter followers. I declined the job offer because I wanted to remain with my current employer and that was all that became of that tweet. But it showed me the potential that Wix had to offer.
I became a Wix Evangelist (or is it Evangelista?) at work encouraging job seekers to create a site for a positive online presence like I was Steve Martin in that Leap of Faith movie. Yes, you *points finger* you *stands up tall* and YOU need a website to showcase your talents to empower your job search efforts! Weeeelll, not that dramatic but I was pretty gung-​ho about it lol. The icing on the cake is that they keep updating the site to provide more incredibly useful apps to enhance the functionality and look of the sites you create.
Snap back to WixcLounge, when I relocated to NYC, I was so excited about checking out the Wix Lounge. The actual space is beautiful and conducive to HAPPY WORK. There are plenty of stations to charge your laptop, a designated area for Wix Pro’s, another one for Wix Employees, a Conference room centrally located, a cute kitchenette to make coffee, and space that can be used for meeting with clients in person and/​or just plugging away at crafting your websites. It has a beautiful minimal-​clean-​contemporary style accented with pops of bright color.
They hold user meetups here and have regularly scheduled workshops as frequently as every week. You can go to their website and RSVP for it, and after reading this review know what to expect. It’s a membership only workspace with business hours M — F 9 — 5.
I tried to resist writing this review, but it’s like being in the presence of a big red blinking button that says Do Not Touch… so here’s my review, anyone who knows me well knows how much I heart Unilocal and Wix and probably saw this review forthcoming like people falling asleep in a Freddy Krueger movie… it’s just, it’s just because I am pleased as punch with Wix, the Wix Team and Wix Lounge!!!

Wix offers a free coworking space for members with a conference room, wifi, printing and other basic needs. It also offers workshops that add value to their members’ businesses. The staff is very helpful, receptive to feedback, and great at making it feel fun and inviting. I’m grateful

Wix recently turned their space into a membership-​only workspace but since I have a Wix website, I was able to join (for free!) The team is incredibly helpful and friendly, the space is clean and fun to work out of, the members are nice/​working on interesting projects, and there are free workshops and events almost every week. I’ve had a great experience there and would highly recommend applying to become a member if you have a Wix website and need a space to work in NYC!

I am a young female who has come a number of months to the Wix lounge. And because I am, a blonde woman that’s tall. I was constantly harassed by the male staff, all support was looking at me as a sex object. The worst of them all was a short columbian guy with an ego the size of the united states but the brains of a cockroach sexually harassed me on many occasions, His name is Ga., I told him to leave me alone but near coffee area, near the ladies room and cornering me in the elevator was too much I stopped going. Also I was verbally harassed by a female with serious mental issues unhappy as can be who threatened people to not reserve seats, to not be on the phone in a group. I had a group of 10 coworkers that we came for the purpose of working on a project. We were asked to reduce our size to 4 if not be thrown out. Her name is Ar… She and this creature have made it a nightmare of an experience. They walk around like soldiers to see if someone is gone more than 20 minutes. Then you find your stuff gone at the entrance. DO you want to be subjected to such behavior just because its free. For 25 dollars per month you can use any regus work center and they are open also later in one location. The best part these 2 creeps already announce for you to pack your stuff at 440 to get ready to be kicked out because they want to go home disgraceful

The only truly free co working space I have found in the city. It can get tight so go early but I have always found a place to squat. Complimentary espresso is a bonus.

They moved from their previous location at 18^th (or was it 19^th) and the space has been vastly improved from cold cafeteria space to warm living room type of space that feels like the kind of place things are happening at. Check it out and make a website at

It gets crowded here after around noon so get here early!
The guy who runs the place Galo, is ultra cool and nice and wears crazy pants haha. But dont cross him or be warned!!! (ie, dont break the coffee machine and put your mug away!).
Its quiet, its got windows, its chill and they have art shows… perfect for young professionals, students and people starting out just to hang out, chill, work, study, and meet peeps!

Finding a good place to work in the city is almost like finding a unicorn in the wild. Usually there are little to no outlets, spotty WiFi, need to make a minimum purchase if you are at a coffee shop, and nowhere to sit. If you want to pony up and get fancy for a coworking space, you are looking at $ 25 – 35 minimum for the day.
Well, I ended up finding the unicorn, and it is called Wix Lounge!
Wix Lounge offers:
+ Free (and very clean) coworking space, open on Monday-​Friday from 9:00 — 5:00.
+ Plenty of tables and seats, although I suggest coming in before 10:00 to find a
perfect spot. By the time 10:30 rolls around, you are elbow to elbow. It gets very tight in here actually with just enough room for a laptop and your mug.
+ Very fast WiFi! I’ve never had trouble with my internet connection here.
+ A small crate full of power strips to use. Make sure to use and share! If you come in a little later, there are some places at the tables where you are not close to an outlet or a power strip so that is another reason to come in early and find a good spot.
+ Free water and coffee! Do your part and put away your mugs in the dishwasher at the end of the work day.
+ Complementary Wix-​branded pencils and small notepads!
+ Free in-​person assistance for those who want to set up websites on the Wix platform, although you are not in anyway pressured to be using their services to work in the coworking space.
+ They offer a meditation hour once a week on Wednesday. I haven’t taken advantage of this yet but would love to in the future.
+ This space also hosts events after hours, many of them small business related! You can also apply to host your own event here as well.
Thank you Wix for providing this great space for free! I suggest this to anyone who is searching for the «unicorn» coworking space. :-)

I was lucky enough to represent my non-​profit theatre company at a Unilocal event at Wix Lounge. They were amazing to work with from the moment we got in to the moment we left… I’ll absolutely have to come back and try their daytime workspace.
This is a great event space in NYC. The people here are passionate and great to work with. My company is extremely interested in coming back here to host future events now that we know what they are capable of. The ONLY drawback is the relatively difficult to enter building and small elevator… but all of that is easy to overlook when it comes to quality space in Manhattan.
Love this place!

I was invited to join some friends last night for an Eventbrite event that Wix Loung hosted. What an incredible space and incredible concept! Very impressed!

Pretty cool that NY has a free coworking space like this. Take a really small elevator up to the 8^th floor, register yourself, and say hi to the admin to get the wifi password. Half of the floor is for drop-​ins (M-​F from 9−5pm), accommodating ~80 people, the other half is for members. You are sitting pretty close to your neighbors at the tables, but it’s more than enough for your laptop and a drink. Unfortunately the supply of outlets is a little limited, mostly along the walls with a few extension outlets running a little ways inwards. They also have some conference rooms, although I’m not sure on the policy of using them. Speed tests of the wifi for a room ~¾ full were about 13Mbps down /​4Mbps up, nice. Volume is low, as most people are busy hacking away. Only one men’s washroom; you ladies are quite privileged here. ;)
