Ordered the cheese pizza. Very doughy… wouldn’t have eaten accept under sober circumstances but I was three sheets to the wind and hankering for a slice.

The only World Famous Rays I know are the Rays of the sun. They’re literally world famous because they are *everywhere* man. Talk about a successful franchise. The only place that doesn’t get year-round rays are, like, the Poles(not the Polish, but the actual ice caps) which get about 6 months of Rays and then 6 months of nothing. I used to come to this Ray’s in the Village all the time. As far as I know it is no longer in existence, but if these other reviewers are still going here then maybe I am wrong. The problem is, the pizza just wasn’t very good. It was average NYC pizza at best. For the memories alone, I might give it a 4 instead of a 3, but you can do much better even in this neighborhood(Bleecker St Pizza, Stanton St Pizza, Prince St Pizza). Ray’s is too much of a tourist destination and don’t really focus on the pie. You can sort of tell by the name, no? Well the slices taste the way you’d expect tourist pizza to taste. Mediocre.

Ordered a pie thru GrubHub and it was very disappointing. The dough was limp and bland; the topping even more bland. I will not order from here again

Grossly misrepresented. This is not the best pizza in NY, without a doubt. This place, specifically this location, have turned to a shit hold chain that just isn’t very good. I’d recommend to try some of New York’s other pizza by the slice options.

World Famous Ray’s Pizza — is it really famous? Also, I have to ponder a pizzeria’s decision to claim«famous» over«best.» The obvious choice would be that they are not the best but rely on business from tourists that don’t seem to know any better. Is it an insult to the New York slice? No. It falls somewhere in between. I ordered a sausage and pepperoni slice. Crust had some decent flavor for a bite on its own. Too much cheese for a New York slice. At 3.60 for two toppings falls a little on the expensive side for a mediocre slice. Okay if you’re in the area but definitely don’t go out of your way to get a slice here.

Pizza is pizza. Either it’s average, or it’s shit. And Ray’s is certainly not shit. The regular slices do me nicely.

Regular slices are good. Not a fan of their toppings, especially mushroom.

Oh how I have missed thee. It cradles me late at night after dancing or those late night hungers. There are always tons of pepperoni, it’s fairly cheap, it’s good, very greasy, and one block away from my home.
