went here forMeetup few weeks ago. nice place, good beer and food. its not a real NY bar, but it will do. reminds me of a BWW or Fridays somehow. Still, its a good place. they do have FLIGHTS! Missed happy hour, but was able to get a beer for 6.50. not bad.

Decent place with a large selection of beers. Have been here twice and one time the beer list had a lot of beers I liked and the second time it was just okay. Service was fairly prompt, although had to wait one long time at the bar while the bartender moved about two dozen glasses before taking my order. It’s crowded and loud but there are some big tables you can squeeze in with strangers. It’s okay but there is a sterility to it that doesn’t make it as comfortable as some of my local haunts, but I’d go back. Not really suitable for my beer club though due to lack of space for large groups.

Surprisingly, this was my first time going to a WOB. As expected, they offer an extensive variety of beer. You can scroll and search their beer list on their iPads, or simply describe which type you prefer and the friendly bartenders will offer some suggestions. Whether it’s drafts, bottles or cans, they are properly poured and served in glasses. I recommend ordering the pretzel. It’s massive, soft and tasty. It comes with mustard but I also suggest having it with their beer cheese. Munching on this pairs perfectly with an IPA. I will definitely return to a WOB, especially this particular establishment because the bartenders constantly checked on you in addition to being friendly and helpful.

This is the beer hall of the 21st century. The menu is insane, and the interactive appeal(you can browse a beer«database» on their iPads) is definitely new and exciting. The ambience is casual, and this is definitely a great spot to take a few friends. It can get crowded, but there is a large selection of tables, both high and low, and a few couches if you want to relax or watch the game. I really liked how knowledgeable the servers were(I’ve been twice so far). I notice that many people have complained about poor service, but I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly, polite, and more than willing to chat you up about beer. Definitely try the huge German pretzel. It’s served on a hook and is dripping butter. INDULGENT. The prices are reasonable as well. Definitely check WOB out if you’re in Chelsea. I’ve docked a star because their beer list is not always up-to-date with what they have available, which can be annoying. That being said, my server was able to recommend plenty of comparable beers.

Located in Chelsea, this place has an amazing selection of drafts and bottles. They also have this gigantic pretzel on a hook with cheese dipping sauce that one MUST try. The servers and bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. It doesn’t get too loud or crowded, even on the weekends so it’s great to hang out. They have a cool section with a leather couch and although the wifi doesn’t work, you can always tether your computer to your phone and get work done. If you’re looking for a place to try beers, check it out! You can also order flights!

Honestly wasn’t that blown away. The beer selection was obviously huge, and it’s a good place to meet a friend or watch the game, but the service wasn’t great.(Our server was overly chatty at first, but then ignored us completely later.) Definitely get the shrimp tacos and the Tavern tater tots.

Great beer selection, but the place wreaks of large and corporate, like a wannabe Buffalo Wild Wings. There were more staff than customers, and it was still impossible to get a new round after sitting empty for more than 5 or 10 minutes. The lights inside flash CONSTANTLY, non intentionally. Fix your terrible wiring and dimmers, WOB!

I give this two stars in the hopes that I will go back and have a better experience. My girlfriend and I were excited for a while to go for their brunch, everything SOUNDED good but in reality the execution was just sad. Beginning with the service, plain and simple we were forgotten. 30 mins to get the attention of our waiter to get the check and by that point I was ready to leave as fast as possible. Food wise, the beerunch is a throwaway event. The«Belgian Beer Waffles» care bad, just bad. An eggo waffle consistency with the taste of bottled vanilla. It did not sit well in my mouth. I had ordered the«Chicken and waffles» and the name should be changed to chicken finger and eggos. It was by far the most over cooked chicken finger I have ever tasted and the«jam» was questionable and did not have the look or consistency of a jam. If you can’t do it properly then why bother? I want to go back to try the dinner foods, because the place looked great and the beer selection was amazing. I can’t knock it for that, the look inside was clean and amazing. And i love the iPads at the table that have the beer list and other information. Will give it a second chance.

Love this place! Awesome beer, awesome food, awesome service, and seriously awesome leather couches.(No internet or outlets that I saw but I think they’re getting internet eventually) Had the river horse cask pumpkin ale and pesto chicken sandwich. Bread was perfectly toasted and chicken perfectly cooked. And they come with tater tots. $ 14 was maybe a little pricey but I’ve paid that and gotten way worse quality so I can’t complain. Not ginormous but it’s a good size, definitely could eat half for a meal if you’re not starving. Cassandra was our server and she is knowledgable, attentive and friendly. She brought as many samples as we wanted and even some we didn’t ask for. So happy to have this place added to the upper Chelsea neighborhood.

Was here on a Friday night and was very impressed. Awesome beer selection, great live band, and super friendly/knowledgeable staff. Place was pretty full but not overly crowded. With so many beers it’s hard to choose one, but you just have to go for it!

My work friend picked this place, knowing how much I love places with a good beer selection. She definitely picked right there. The list of beers is pretty overwhelming with a lot of great craft options I’ve never even heard of. Lots of places tout their beer selection only to have a few limited release beers by major brewers. You can build your own flight, which of course I’m all about. You can also pick a beer and a shot, if that’s your thing. The place has a kind of TGI Fridays/Hooters/insert generic fast casual place feel, so it’s not the place for ambiance or to be spotted by hipsters if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s definitely a good spot to get a good beer after work and actually have some elbow room. The food is pretty good too. The steak flatbread wasn’t steak-y enough, but still very tasty for bar food. All in all, great for post-work beers, but it needs a little more character to make it a destination.

Came here for sunday football with friends. It’s not bad. There are plenty of seats, lots of screens and quick service. Q little loud, but what do you expect from a bar? It’s got a wide selection of beer, football on the TVs, bar food. I really enjoyed the flatbread, I prdered one with steak, arugula and balsamic vinegar and it was delicious. My friends got wings and the hangover skillet. I also ordered tots because I was still hungry after eating my flatbread. Carbs5ever am I right? Our server was super nice and attentive even with the packed bar. The food was a little pricey, almost overpriced, but what else do you expect from a sport bar in Manhattan? I liked that the bar stools were big enough to sit on, so half your butt isn’t hanging off while you eat and chat with friends. Overall I had a great time, and in the end that’s all that really matters no?

Came here a couple weeks ago with my sister. We both love craft beer so thought this would be a good place to try a couple. To drink: Considering it is fall, we were both in the mood for a pumpkin flavored beer(guess that makes me basic). We scanned the beer list on the iPad we were given and were disappointed with the limited selection of pumpkin beers on tap and available in bottle. I ordered the Pumpkin Porter(bottle) and my sister ordered a Harpoon UFO. Both drinks were barely cold and we each struggled to finish them because beer does not taste good when it’s not cold. To eat: We ordered a couple appetizers, figuring we’d share them and it would equate to a meal. We ordered the pretzel, the fried shrimp and the mac and cheese. Way too much food for 2 people. The food was super greasy but we picked at it. Atmosphere: LOUD. They had trivia going on and I could barely hear what my sister was saying over the trivia host. We looked around and only about half of the people there were actually playing trivia. I had read before I went to World of Beer that it had only been open for 4 weeks. Since it is very close to where I live, I’m sure I will try it again but maybe just for drinks.

High hopes for this place. It is neat, clean, and new. Lots of beers to choose from both bottle and tap. Food was decent. Just thought we could watch a world series race game. Trouble with the universal remote, TVs wouldn’t switch. And the view from every table is obstructed by pendant lights… bad floor design

It was only fitting that I «Mr. World Of Beer» would come to the grand opening and just like every other WOB this one didn’t let me down. Katelyn was very attentive and informative and met all of my party’s expectations. If you’re a regular WOB’er It definitely has the same WOB culture you’ve known to love from the original WOB Westchase in Tampa, FL

This review is for beers and service only, we didn’t try any food. We were seeing a UCB show across the street and this was really the closest option to the theater. I usually try to avoid chain places but it was convenient and we just wanted a couple beers. They live up to their name they have a million beers, I think they said 500 in bottles and a ton of drafts. If you like beer you won’t be found wanting for the beer of your choice. They also had a pretty cool trio band playing on a raised stage which was pretty cool. The service was excellent and our waitress very friendly and on-the-spot. Overall, it was clean, convenient with a lot of great beers. I honestly can’t complain.

I normally prefer enjoying my beer at a local bar, but one of my friend has been talking about World of Beer and waited for the opening for the longest time. I recently decided to give it a shot after he told me about the loyalty program — my competitive side kicks in(plus I love beer). The place is huge … Once you walk in, you can choose to sit either at the bar, table, booth or even couches. Did I mention that there’s also a stage on the side and TV literally everywhere you turn. There’s been an over flow of staff ever since opening week. Which was nice, until we needed to order more or waiting to get the check. Though it’s comforting to see about five different pos system located at each corner — they’re ready and they mean business. Again, I’ve been here a few times now. business had picked up, there’s still tons of staff and the wait is still long to get anything. However, everyone we encountered are very welcoming and friendly so far. During peak hours, this place gets packed and the music is loud … really loud. Don’t even bother coming in to drink alone when it’s really busy(you will not be able to hear your own thoughts let alone trying to yell out those sweet nothings to that potential soul mate you invited). However, if you prefer drinking solo or bringing a date, drop by earlier in the week, a Sunday or when the game isn’t on. Throughout our visits so far, we’ve had 13 great beers with so many more to try. It feels like walking into beer heaven — the selection is extensive. Food so far that had stood out to me was the Sriracha Lime Shrimp Tacos, Tavern Taters(love their tater tots) and Guinness Brat Sliders. Definitely great new addition to the area and for beer lovers.

I love this place from when I was a student at Northwestern and was one of their first regulars at their location in Evanston, IL. When I found out they were opening here I got so excited. Their ambiance is special for NYC and very homey. You’ll love their selection of beer and their drafts like the strawberry frujli are amazing. They’ll let you have a taster of anything so take advantage of that! Please try it out and make your home in NYC. Even if you don’t like beer you’ll learn to love it here. Their cocktails are also worth it and so is their food! Especially the Mac and cheese but the flatbread too. :)

Magnificent venue with amazing array of craft beers and ales on tap. Fine food, fun vibe. Beautiful design. Long overdue in this, my home neighborhood. The sell FLIGHTS of craft beers! I had a delicious flight of four 4-ounce tastes of superb, little-known IPA’s. And I think the shrimp tacos are excellent, as is the onion soup. Initially I downgraded them because the music was at ear splitting levels but they seem to have toned it down. Check it out!

Fifty beers on tap! A wall of international bottles. I was the 2nd customer today for the grand opening. I went with a Yonkers lager-$ 6. Who knew there was a brewery in Yonkers? A good morning choice. Many pub and updated pub foods are also on tap. Beer battered pickles, shrimp tacos and mac & cheese. Can’t wait to eat at World of Beer. Very knowledgeable & friendly crew. WOB is a great addition to the ‘hood.
