i don’t expect people to treat me like something special… but man, these folks are among the most unfriendly types i’ve ever experienced. given that every 50 feet there’s another store that provides the same types of products, why would i ever return here, to be treated like a total jerk? The answer is: i will not return here to be treated like a total jerk. I’m pretty sure that in business, the customer isn’t supposed to feel like his mere presence is a big unpleasant bother for the people running the store. I’m pretty sure that customers bring the money that keeps the business going, and I’m rather certain that treating the customer like a loser who’s departure is very much looked forward to… is not the best business model… especially for a mom and pop business. I guess some people are not meant to be in business very long.

I walked in here around 9pm on a Sunday night and immediately, I felt carried back to Taiwan. There are so many of these little«bodegas» in Taipei similar to this. A convenience store owned by a family that virtually carries everything under the sun. I wasn’t looking for anything particular, was just curious to see what they had in store. Sometimes, I enjoy loitering around 99 cents stores just to see what kind of junk people are buying. It never ceases to amaze how much junk people like to accumulate. Things I found here: Non-perishable food(they even sell Chinese-style beef and squid jerky) All kinds of hair accesories(not that great of a selection, but if you need rubber ands, bobby pins, they have it) Stationery galore(one whole aisle dedicated to school/office supplies) Some beauty products(eyelash curlers, fake eyelashes, pore-cleansing strips, towlettes, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) Slippers of all kinds Toys Scooters And all sorts of crap that you will never need, but will be lured to buying… Good to know there is a place close to home to buy stuff that you will never need…
