Yossi Milo Gallery is probably the premier photography gallery in the nation, not just NYC. I want to answer the two men who are complaining about the pricing, I think collectors would not agree. What you are paying for is Yossi’s incredible ability to find new talent, or discover photographers who have been overlooked. He is an amazing curator. And they are anything but arrogant there. I cannot afford one single piece in this gallery, even if they gave it to me at the artist’s price. And yet, Alissa and her staff treat me like I am a valued customer. I get the scoop, when someone is available, on the process and history of the work. This is the place for collectors to buy photography, and some of the work would not be seen if it weren’t for the relentless search for great work that goes on behind closed doors.

Justin’s review is spot on, except it’s even worse than he says. The prices are truly outrageous. They are apparently under the impression that they are selling Cindy Sherman prints. They want $ 5K-$ 10K for prints from young and virtually unknown photographers who have not even been working for more than a few years. Some of the work is great but the prices are absurd. Sorry but it’s not my job to subsidize the costs of maintaining the gallery in a tony location.

The exhibitions never let me down and the service is absolutely top-notch. I always enjoy coming here with my girlfriend. In a sort of «it’ll never happen but I have to do this to at least tell her i tried it out» kinda way, I asked the gallery to let me put up my own personal photo to propose to her. I was surprised when they called me back the same day and said it would be fine and they would call me back again to work out the details. The next time it was Mr. Yossi Milo himself that called. Everybody was incredibly nice and accommodating. They really went the extra mile for me and I can’t thank them enough.

Overpriced by about 20% on their Loretta Lux works. Also, have a bit of an attitude and really don’t «work» for a $ 10,000 sale. They are opening their«North» gallery to have 2 exhibitions at once.
