I compare all the lounges to the ones in Australia. For a major city like new york it pales in comparison to the Qantas lounge. The double door looks like an entrance to a warehouse & the receptionist were moat unhelpful. They couldn’t even tell me the luggage limit(see Newark American Airway counter review) & told me to ask the ticketing desk. I told them I was sent to them as they«were too busy to check» for me. This is a very basic knowledge on my opinion. They told me to ring American Advantage. Pretty sure they didn’t even bother finding it. I was there for 2 hours & they told me they would let me know *of* they find it. Obviouslyit was too hard to find. The seats were comfy but there were no power points for laptop charging. I found a random usb port on a samsung device to check flight status to check my phone. Food was average with veggie sticks, crackers & dried fruit. There’s a bar around the corner. Toilet was clean enough but there is no shower facility. Sorry long haul travellers that r unfortunate enough to transit here, u need to stink it up for a little longer. On the wall it’s won some award. The standards here must be very low. F.A.I.L

I was going to say this was an average US domestic lounge… but it is actually below average. The food, beverages, etc. are identical to what other AAdmirals Clubs offer. This club, however, is lacking the showers and the facilities are quite dated compared to most AAdmirals Clubs. After a day at the office, I usually like to take a shower before getting on board… and that isn’t possible when I fly out of EWR/Neark on AA.

Better than nothing, but barely. Small, usually crowded but fails to make up for this. The bathrooms are tiny, the bar doesn’t have complimentary cocktails or anything beyond cheap domestic beer and the snacks are the same tomato soup or pretzels. Sure, American is a small carrier at EWR domestic, but I think they should improve this lounge a bit.

I’m in this lounge almost once a week. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Club is very outdated as of July 2015. For example, there are not that many open outlets for charging devices. That being said, it is superior to the gate areas at Newark. Staff is top notch and very friendly. EWR is a better experience than IAH because this club exists.

American Airlines has a limited number of flights out of EWR — so I am thankful that an Admirals Club even exists at this airport. Being able to relax in a comfy chair, enjoying a cool beverage in a quiet space is very much appreciated. Just be sure to walk through the metallic doors with tempered expectations. Due to the awkward way that Terminal A was designed in the glory days of air travel before the TSA the club is situated halfway back thru security. The space is narrow and the décor is a little dated. However, the staff is friendly which is more than can be said of the majority of folks at EWR. The club is kept neat and clean. There are plenty or work stations and they still have the old phone closets which are great for private cell phone conversations. The club in Newark is hugely better than sitting at the gate — dated, narrow, and inconvenient is infinitely better than non-existent.

Clean but needs major updating like most admiral clubs. Same old boring food. They need to looks at what Amex is doing.

This is a nice club, with an espresso machine and snacks. Not sure why it has so many lackluster reviews. It is neither a Flagship Lounge nor is it BA’s Concourse Lounge, so if that is the level of your expectation, you might be disappointed. It’s quiet and nicely maintained and it is on a par with all the Admirals Club lounges I’ve visited(DFW, ORD, LAX, PHX, MIA).

Nice space, quiet, comfortable chairs. That’s it. Very limited drinks, free food is a joke — at 7pm they had chip mix, a few cherry tomatoes and a bunch of celery sticks.

What is the deal with the bad reviews?! This is a beautiful club! I LOVE flying out of Newark because I get to enjoy this lounge and the following aspects of it… — The lovely people at the front desk who treat me so nicely — The lovely bar people — The great lighting — The very nice furniture — The coffee machine! — The fresh baked bread that you can toast for free, with jellies and butters — just like the French! — The Greek Salmon Salad — take it on the plane — cheap and awesome This is a great club. I’m almost giving it 5 stars, but would reserve that for lounges with self-serve high end bars, shower suites, etc :-) Very nicely done. I love it.

American Airlines sucks — worst airlines ever! I paid for first class and they can’t get the freakin bags on the same plane!

Certainly not the best of their clubs but there is no reason to bash it either as with the limited amount of flights AA has out of Newark to have a club at all in the middle section of the A Terminal is an accomplishment. Certainly spacious with small bar and bathrooms at the end. People are friendly and plenty of seats and computer space to be found. Conference rooms available if needed. No showers and snack area is very basic with no coffee machine but bartenders and servers will be happy to get you what you need. As stated not their best but no great knocks.

The American Airlines Admirals Club at EWR is the worst Admirals Club I have ever visited. I was there around 8 am and there was only bread, butter, & jelly. Sure, there are free drinks but I was really disappointed after visiting the Admirals Clubs in DFW&MIA. Staff is friendly but amenities are really lacking. See pictures.

AA operates a variety of top notch clubs all over the US. This is not one of them. During a recent visit I waited ten minutes to order lunch in an empty club.(And the sandwich cost $ 10.) If you are a member it beats waiting in the terminal, but otherwise you are not missing much.

No Food, No Shower, Just an open bar with bunch seats. I guess American Airlines pretty much gave up with EWR, its UA’s hub

This Admirals Club is in some definite need of renovation. The space is cramped, the staff isn’t friendly, the snacks and drinks are not the business and the bar area is tiny. I mean, come on AA, I understand that you had a rough three years but 2010 yielded you profits… pretty nice profits for that matter. So why don’t you try something new? Try rewarding the people who travel with you every month, the people who make these profits possible, by at least upgrading your admirals clubs around the nation.

Here’s ‘the situation’: It’s no secret that New Jersey receives an extraordinary amount of grief from, well… everyone. There’s plenty of blame to go around for the general state of affairs — corruption, crime, pollution, high taxes, guidoss, bad traffic, John Corzine, Snooki, and Newark Airport(EWR). EWR is widely regarded amongst frequent travelers as the absolute worst airport to travel to/from, where it’s notorious for an extraordinarily tarnished history of flight delays, poor maintenance, and inept personnel. The AA Admiral’s Club does nothing to redeem EWR’s contemptible reputation. First, it’s awkwardly placed. Guests must RE-ENTER the security screening zone to enter the uninviting metallic ingress that serves as the doorway. The space itself is on the small side, and is quickly overwhelmed with business suits and bad attitudes during peak hours. And unlike the Delta Sky Lounge and Continental President’s Club, AA has the audacity to charge its ‘esteemed’ members for drinks, in this case $ 5.50 for a poorly pulled Coors Light and $ 6 for a bottom shelf spirit. The final insult to ‘valued’ AA elite fliers is found in the most sullen service this side of the Hudson. The bartender on our visit spent most of their time chatting with co-workers, while thirsty fliers shot daggers with their eyes. Said bartender also consumed their dinner within full view of the customer — a violation of «Front of House Rules 101». In the short, AA Admirals Club is the, «Kim Kardashian of airline clubs, baby»
