I have never had a problem ordering mattresses from Boscovs so we decided to try ordering furniture. We had bought a $ 5 Friends Helping Friends coupon and were assured it would provide 25% savings throughout the store on a particular day and 10% in furniture department. We found a sofa and loveseat that we placed an order for. I think it was a Broyhill. We ordered the fabric for sofas and pillows. They said probably won’t be in till around holidays. We were fine with that. We called after holidays and were told it would be another week or so. We called another week or so later and were told it had shipped and we can expect a call any day. We never got a call. so we cancelled the order. All this while we were paying for it! (I had no idea we were paying). I can’t explain that since my husband pays bills but he was paying it!

It’s a department store! What good is a department store any more nowadays, other than a repository for merchandise that is two or three generations out of date? Plus, you’re not really getting the best values here. Sure, they have store specials that take prices down to within striking distance of Target or Walmart, but the rest of the goods aren’t bargains. On the plus side, I thought service wasn’t bad. The store salespeople are helpful in guiding you towards the items you seek. Checkout, on the other hand, is glacially slow if the line is more than one or two deep.

This is not a review of the store itself just its location, which is a seeming island of retail space in an historic village that has been spoiled by this development and other errant construction. Why? The traffic layout and subsequent congestion are such a shame for the beauty of what once was the beautiful town of Christiana. They have been doing road construction for literally decades at the interchange of I-​95, Route 273 and other roadways around Christiana Mall, not far from the medical center of Christina Hospital, a nationally renowned provider of health care. My hope is that the roadways can be organized logically and provide some semblance of normalcy to a once quaint, rustic town.
