This review is for the Christiana Hospital location. The best part of coming to this hospital is getting a Cubano from this place. It’s as good if not better than getting one in Miami. Coffee perfection.

Great atmosphere, friendly employees, all kinds of good coffee ranging from the basics to signature flavored lattes that I am told are delicious. Has a very indie-coffee feel despite being a small local chain.

I was in Newark for a wedding weekend and needed a place to hang out for a few hours before checking into my hotel. Brew Ha Ha had great reviews, and I wanted to get some work done, so it seemed perfect! The ambiance was relaxed, the employees were friendly, and I enjoyed my café latte and Philadelphia salad. The wifi worked well, and there was plenty of seating. Since it’s so large, it’s not quite as cozy as some other indie coffee shops, but it’s well worth it for the ease of finding a place to camp out for a couple hours and not feel like you’re robbing them of business. I wish there was one closer to home — I’d be a regular!

Really consistently delicious coffee here! Definitely one of the best places around this area. The food is good as well, a touch pricey, but delicious nonetheless.

I’ve got to say that this is one of my go to coffee shops in town even now that I graduated from UD. When I was an undergrad I used to come here at least 3x a week and every day if it was finals week because it was my favorite place to study at. I’ve had so many different items from their menu from coffee to sandwiches to baked goods and not once have I been disappointed. My favorite coffee has always been their Café Cubano. One word: delicious! I get it every time I’m there. As for sandwiches, I usually get the pike creek which is a chicken salad on either bread or a tortilla wrap. It’s so good and it’s reasonably priced(I believe it’s under 7 bucks and a big portion). I also like the fact that it’s pretty spacious and they have couches! As for the customer service, it is pretty good as most of the baristas are friendly. Great place to go to for some coffee or a bite to eat ^.^

Great coffee~ During the summer, the place isn’t crowded with UD students so it’s a perfect place to lounge. Try the biscotti and their french pressed coffee!

Brew Ha Ha offers a wide selection of coffees, and other drinks. They also serve tea(Republic of Tea’s). I am a tea lover, so I am usually careful when it comes to the teas they serve outside, especially when it’s not a tea house. I only tried their coffees so far, and I was not disappointed. People working there are young but they look like they know what they’re doing, which is a great thing. I lately tried their Thai Iced Coffee and it’s pretty good. They offer free wifi and they have sitting outside which is great in summer.(Offering even seats in the shade or under the sun.) Great place if you want to get some work done, music not too loud and people are not that loud there I think. I guess it depends on the day.

The person in charge was pushy and rude to me from the minute I entered the spot and their coffee is NOT organic.

I’m a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker, so I’ve never tried the coffee here. I will say that this place has a pretty broad selection of Republic of Tea’s teas: If you are interested in reading my reviews of these teas, or writing your own reviews on a site which is like a «yelp of teas», you can visit Republic’s page on a website I run here: Besides the tea, this coffee shop has a lot going for it. It’s conveniently located in downtown Newark, near the university and near many other businesses, easy to walk to. It has outstanding baked goods. It also has an outdoor seating area, although it faces a parking lot so it could be nicer. There are a lot of different tables, but they all have a similar feel to them… there’s not a huge amount of diversity in the seating. In particularly, there’s not much in the way of «cozy» or «hangout» type seating, which I think is a shame. My main complaint about this place is that it’s hard to find an outlet. Their wireless, also, although free and passable, tends to be a tad slower and less reliable than Saxby’s, which is where I prefer to go if I want to get work done. This place has more character though. I just wish they would move it a little farther in the«cozy» direction… right now, it’s straddling the fence. Either put in more sofas, or put in more outlets and get your wireless working a bit faster and more reliably. Ideally, do both! This would easily make this place five stars.

I used to hole up here with my laptop and make this coffee shop my study haven during finals time back in college… During the spring, I’d come here with my sorority peeps and we’d soak some sun on the patio and people-watch for hours. I don’t think any other place on Main Street had ambiance quite like this one! If you haven’t tried this place, definitely go ASAP and order an iced thin mint latte… I guarantee that if you’re a coffee drinker, you will not be disappointed! The food here is also top quality. Try the Trolley Square sandwich with ham and brie cheese… It’s a combo that you probably won’t find at any other café or restaurant in Newark!

This is one of my favorite local Delaware coffee shops. Probably because it’s one of the ONLY coffee shops in Delaware… but let’s not dwell on things we cannot control. I’ve been coming to this Brew HaHa for ten years. I started frequenting it in high school when I thought it was the cool thing college kids did. When I did the Summer College program at UD, I’d occasionally come here to study, thinking«yes, I fit right in with all these hip 20-somethings… even if I haven’t grown any leg hair and I can barely perspire.» This place hasn’t changed a bit in the past 10 years and I love it for that. I mean, I’m sure tables and wall colors have come and go… but the layout, the coffee and pastries, the feel of the café… exactly as I remember it. I love being able to come back to places where time has stood still. Brew HaHa is a great local chain that gives you an option instead of the Starbucks on Kirkwood Highway. There are a few locations around the state(and in PA) and each of the stores has its own personality. If you come to this location, make sure you go up the back steps… it’s like climbing the steps up into the Statue of Liberty… but instead of sitting in a head, you get espresso. With all my experiences with coffee shops, I have deemed this my absolute favorite(and I’m coming from lots of big cities, like SF, NY, Chicago, and StL) next to Caribou Coffee. The baristas are super helpful and are eagerly attentive. If you want a drink that they don’t have posted on the menu, they will make it for you! I usually get steamed milk with a shot of mint flavoring… Amazing! If I still drink coffee, I would try every single latte that they offer(my friend tells me that they are amazing!). It’s a bit more pricier than what you can get at Dunkin Donuts, but it’s along the same line as Starbucks further down Main Street. I will agree with Musin in that it’s overrun with undergrads, but don’t let that distract you from getting amazing coffee(or steamed beverages). As for teas, you should go to Teavana in Christiana Mall for a more solid experience.

The drip coffee is pretty blah and the tea has annoying synthetic teabags that flavor the tea a nice nylon/polyester blend reminiscent of my uncle Charlie’s prom suit(Central Perk has subscribed to this tea as well). The baristas(baristos?) are perky and friendly, the music is quiet or nonexistant and the atmosphere is cute and cozy. When the university is in session, the place tends to be overrun by undergrads blabbing in their imitation Paris Hilton accents so don’t think you’ll get any real work done there.
