So, this is in a rest stop on the highway, my expectations weren’t great to begin with. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant on a Saturday around 10am. It was actually pretty tasty, and I didn’t really have many choices(I’m not a fan of Starbucks food selection). The sandwiches are sitting under a heat lamp and warmed in a toaster before being handed to you, which, whatever, fine. The problem I have with this is that I can see everything, and there are flies everywhere, because it’s a rest stop. It’d be nice if they made a pretense of trying to keep them away. Besides the potential of cleanliness problems, the staff don’t coordinate. At all. The girl at the register was too busy chatting to realize the guys in the line had prepared all the food already, and she would tell them to make food they’d already handed to a customer, which probably results in a lot of food wasting and that’s why bacon egg and cheese sandwiches are $ 5… I had to not only tell here what food was mine that was in front of her(and the guys on the line were telling her, she just wasn’t listening), but that the coffee I’d ordered was already made and sitting next to her, it was just a disaster. Maybe she’s new, but it seems like there wasn’t a protocol for who was taking orders, and how things were charged, etc. Would I go back? Maybe. If I was really in the mood for breakfast food and I was stuck in this rest stop, sure. But I’d probably just get a Cinnabon instead.
