As a photo major at UD I practically lived here and knew almost everyone who worked here by name. It was always my go to for new gear. I found all the employees, particularly Dain, to be knowledgable, patient and passionate about photography. I’d support this store over the big box stores any day! I also love that it’s the only place around where you can find the analog stuff too– holgas, film, dark room stuff, etc. It’s a true gem in a town which is being over run by crappy chain stores and nasty condos.

I need to update my review. I reached out to Cameras Etc Inc. on their facebook and told them the situation. I was told to contact the owner Jim Cycyk today after noon. I just spoke with Jim for almost a half an hour. First off, this guy knows his stuff, not just equipment but he understands business and customer service; which is so important. And said they wouldn’t be around (almost 40 years later) if they treated their customers like crap. He apologized a few times for his employees and said the first guy I talked to, they have had issues with him before. So I’m not sure why they keep giving him chances if he is rude to customers since they are going to lose business. But as I said, after speaking with Jim you can tell he cares about his customers and loves his business. After speaking with him I will give them a 2nd chance.

I always enjoying coming to Cameras Etc in Newark. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Their knowledge is outstanding; and they are patient and customer oriented.
They always try to help rather then sell or move items. I have seen them shift from answering high level photography questions from professional/​semi-​pro to speaking with hobbyists and then the point and click customers.
Prices are reasonable. The only draw back is the parking can be limited around mealtime with close by eateries, but a minor issue compared to the service.

These guys saved my niece’s wedding. Photog cancelled, so we rented camera gear & bought supplies for shoot. Very professional & well knowledgeable. A great all-​round camera store.
