As much as I prefer to be inside and in front of some type of screen(computer, tablet, phone, etc.), I took a break from work today and walked to City Without Walls. I’d been meaning to check it out for the longest time. I’m really glad I did. I saw ‘Precision and Pattern’ during my visit. The exhibit was quite interesting. I won’t go into the specifics on that here(you should check out the gallery’s website for details or just visit). I will tell you that the gallery space presents the art work very well — with high ceilings, white walls, concrete flooring, and a sparse, industrial-esque feel. It’s basically one open gallery space for the art pieces. There is also a smaller media room partitioned off with a black curtain towards the back right. This is where I watched a film. It’s very PS1-ish(I say this as a compliment). I recommend stopping by if you can. Admission is free and the gallery is open to the public. When you approach the entrance, you have to buzz in to be let in. The woman who let me in was friendly and nice. The guestbook and exhibit handout booklets are at the front desk by the entrance. Prices for the pieces are available here, as well. It’s a welcoming gallery. I note this because there are galleries out there that aren’t so inclusive and nice(just saying). So this was refreshing and I was relaxed and able to take in the art and experience. Check it out for yourself.
