Visited a friend in Delaware. Came here around 1am along with everyone else who was hammered. The trip to D P Dough is a little fuzzy in mind. Does anyone actually remember eating a calzone from here?

Food overall was good, large calzone selection. Friendly staff. Food comes out fast and hot for being made to order. Downsides: Dough and red sauce bland and meh; would be nice if they jazzed it up a bit. Overall, would eat here again.

I went back to relive some late-night college memories. Since I hadn’t been drinking, the food was not as good as I remembered. The guy working behind the counter was awesome though. Super nice guy who gave me some dipping sauce even though I didn’t have any cash on me. Owe the guy a dollar next time I’m there.

I don’t think I can write a serious review about this place just because it’s very common to eat here while one is inebriated. Enough said.

Delivery boy rode by on his bike punched my friend in the face at a stop light. Dirty employees. Bacon

A nice concept — a place that specializes in calzones. Its right on the main street which was packed with college kids. I got a calzone with ricotta mozzerella bacon and ham. Lots of ham in there. A decent size, but the dough was bland and thin. Now CLOSED — may be reopening later?

The only reason to get DP Dough is if you’re drunk and it’s after midnight. If you’re wasted and it’s late, DP Dough is quite glorious. Not only is the food great(if you’re drunk), but also everyone else there is in the same state and it’s good times. You will regret getting one of these calzones in the morning, but your hangover headache will be stronger than the pain in your gut.

At first I thought this place was a pizza shop but upon entering found out that they do a huge variety of calzones with funky names. I was intrigued and so like the curious cat I put my head in the grinder to see what would happen. I should have worn a helmet. The idea is solid but the follow through was just plain lazy. Homemade, special dough wrapped around fresh cheese and meat/veg, sounds great. Except that the dough is the kind of bland amateur quick bread you can find in any betty crocker ‘bake in minutes’ cook book. Now I’ve made my own bread, I’ve made THIS bread and I know from experience that it’s better than supermarket sliced but worse than the stuff you get in a breadbasket at Cabbara’s. I was disappointed in the quality because if this place just went back and created a truly unique, slow crafted dough it would be a landmark location. For a place with Dough in the name they spend precious little time thinking about it.

D P Dough pops up near college campuses with awesome calzones. There are vegetarian and meat options, and all calzones have their own cheesy names like«Park Zone» and«Oh! Zone.» Excellent for the price, although the one time I had it delivered not so much for the wait. The fire alarm went off in the girls dorm and it managed to lose electricity, all to the point that an entire three floors of girls were stuck, on a rainy day, lingering around the boys dorm across the street. Literally three hours after placing an order, the food finally arrived. Maybe Newark was just malfunctioning that particular day.
