Back in June, I needed African Fabric to make Kente cloth for a graduation. It was last minute because the fabric store I was originally working with was terrible and didn’t come through. The staff here were so helpful and friendly, they went above and beyond to help me make sure I had the exact measurements and amount of fabric needed. They did not rush me and did not allow me to leave the store until I understood the exact directions for how my seamstress needed to cut the fabric in order to make sure there was enough fabric for the scarves. I highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately this is the only fabric shop that I know of in this area. their fabric selection is not bad, the trimming is limited the customer service non existent!
In the shop there is a faint sign in the upholstery section that says $ 9.98 for two yards $ 7.98 for three or more yards. They tried to charge me $ 9.98 for 12yds I informed them of the sign, and when I questioned their lack of knowledge of it, was told to leave the fabric if I didn’t want it and get out.
I was shocked, and would gladly have left the fabric, had I not promised to purchase it for someone.
I said I would never return to the shop and they basically said good riddance.
There is a huge sign posted $ 15.00 minimum for credit card purchases, their pricing should be so clear.

Man, this place is a goldmine! North Jersey doesn’t have too many fabric shops in the area, which forces you to trek to the city for a decent collection of anything.
I’m so glad I found this place yesterday. The value of the fabric is EXCELLENT. You can’t beat it, and what I love about them is that they have a decent variety of fabrics in solids. There’s this little fabric store in my town which I absolutely adore, but my issue with them is that practically everything in there is printed or fleece. I would only recommend them if I were making aprons and accenting a nursery or playroom. Not here. Upholstery material, trimming cords, zippers, satin cords, tulle, thread, your hardcore essentials.
I’m definitely coming back for my next project!

Great fabric selection, great prices, great service. Not much left to say other than it’s a bit cramped but that only makes browsing all the more interesting as you might stumble upon a print you weren’t even expecting to buy (hey there ice cream cone patterned fabric! you’re coming with me!).
This place is definitely my go to for fabric, thread, zippers, you name it.

Excellent fabric store. A real gem with that «old timey» feeling of being in an old metro fabric store before there were chains.
Great prices and the staff knows their stuff. Cordial too, but the place is busy for a good reason, so be a bit patient.

This is definitely one of the best stocked fabric shop I have been to in this hood. Located conveniently at 10 min walk from Newark Penn station, this place tons of different varieties of fabric which would satisfy everybody’s needs.
I went there to buy something in particular, the staff was very friendly and helped me find what i was looking for.
FYI– There are open from Mon-Sat from 10 – 6.
