I live in the area and was looking for a place to do my laundry. Reviews were telling me to go to Laundry Fresh but I really don’t like using those laundry cards, I wanted to use my good ol’ quarters so I had to find somewhere else. I remembered seeing an advertisement painted on the side of a building for a new laundromat and I followed the ad and ended up here, at Showcase. I went inside to see if the machines were coin operated and they were so I was a happy camper. Pros; There is a spacious parking lot. Inside is big and clean. There are a ton of machines. The machines are brand new. The large washers are $ 5, the slightly smaller washers are $ 4, and the small washers are $ 1.75. The dryers are $.25 for 10 minutes. Ladies and gentlemen, you can not beat those prices. There were 4 big TV’s. Two TV’s were on CBS, one was on VH1 Soul, and the other was on Fox. There is free Wifi. There’s plenty of seating. There are enough folding tables for a small army. The snack vending machine had Berry Mike & Ike’s. The drink machine had a variety of Gatorade’s. There are paintings of Newark’s black history through out the place and there’s also a dome that’s painted with a beautiful, if not completely out of place angelic mural. Never have I seen a laundromat with such culture. I held out my pinky as I folded my clothes. Cons; None.
