This is my favorite pub in town. The food is spectacular, the service is outstanding, but most of all; they have the BEST beer selection around. This is a great place to bring family, friends, or a date. I’ve had a little bit of everything on the menu and I have to say that if you don’t try one of their specialty burgers, you’re missing out!

We discovered this place last year and it’s really pretty good. Don’t go during a big sports event unless you like really loud and intoxicated fans crowding the aisles. But on other occasions, the food is good and the people are nice. Give this place a try.

My best friend and I ate here while I was visiting the area. We had pretzel bites with cheese which was so fresh and delicious plus we both loved our burgers. The beer battered fries were different than any I’ve had before and were equally delicious! Customer service was impressive and our wait was less time than originally anticipated.

Decent menu and drinks. Biggest downside is the wait to be seated on a Friday night.

Absolutely best pub in town ! Everyone is always on their game here, I never have to wait for a refill ! Nice little«cheers bar» where everyone knows your name. Staff is amazing, I’ve never had a bad experience here. Food is on point, appetizers are to die for and entrees even better. If you like wings and burgers, they make a burger with both piled high on it! You will not be disappointed. Love!!!

Best food I have had in a long time. Great management staff they are friendly and if(big if) something in your order is wrong they are quick to make things right. I’ve been here many times and have never had a bad meal or bad drink. You must try their Rueben or the OHMY burger… I recommend adding a few jalapeños to spice it up a bit. The bar staff is always friendly and willing to make you anything your liver desires. If you are ever in the quiet town of Newark Ohio… This place is a must!

Salmon was very tasty, mashed potatoes were good, asparagus flavorful, wonderful beer selection. Burger, on a kiser roll… the pickle was the strongest flavor on the burger, so disappointed. House fries were very good, the ranch dipping sauce’s strongest flavor was the mayo, not a fan. We will be back, try lunch next time.

Still LOVE this place! The beer selection is great, and the food is delicious. That’s a win-win! I appreciate restaurants that can excel in both. Most importantly for this update, I want to let Red Oak know, SMART decision about the EtchASketch for the kids. This is our second visit in 2 days because my kids begged to come back and play with«those red things!» Please buy more so you can meet the demand during busy times. ;)

I’m giving this place four Ohio stars which means that out of all of the atrocious food that I have had east of Columbus this place doesn’t hate food and isn’t trying to poison me. There’s nothing special about this place. I would’ve given it three stars for forgetability but I had to give it four… Because of the spinach and hot something dip appetizer. Soooooo good. But the chips to dip ratio is way off. I recommend two or even three of their little bowls of dip it’s three dollars extra

Great atmosphere and nice selection of beers. The food is definitely a nice array of upscale tasty bar favorites such as fried pickles, calamari and nachos but their selection of signature burgers and paninis push them above other bars that serve food.

Sent a private message to respond to the owner and still haven’t seen that gift certificate. Not that I would use it at this point anyways. Pretty lousy.

If you ever find yourself in Newark after a Wednesday night soccer game in need of food, you’ve likely stolen my ID. It’s all good, you can have it. In any event, thanks to Unilocal,we ended up at Red Oak. Red Oak is a solid, clean, friendly, suburban«pub» where you can catch a game, play some Keno and enjoy definitely above average American pub food. Nothing immediately jumped off the menu, so I asked our server, Brittany, what was good. She immediately lit up and told me that the peanut butter bacon burger was her favorite. With visions of Elvis, slumped on the floor in his bathroom, dancing in my head, I said«let’s do it.» I’d never had peanut butter on a burger before, but I’m sure I will again. The burger was awesome. The sweet potato fries were quite good as well. The star soccer player and her brother also enjoyed their meals. Service was also fantastic. So, next time I’m in Newark after a late soccer game, I’m sure I’ll be back at Red Oak trying to reclaim my identity(or that of Elvis — either will do).

I went here last week after moving into town. The regulars were somewhat sociable, the drink specials and prices were very reasonable. We had wings, which were great, and pretzel bites. My only compliant on the pretzel bites is that I’m pretty sure they are deep fried, which gave them a different consistency, which I’m not sure I am a fan of. The location is very convenient and the bartender was very nice so I am sure we will be back!

After my last review, I was contacted by Michael and he apologized for my experience. The fact that he cared enough to respond and actually pays attention made me appreciate him reaching out, but he also sent me a gift card so they could try again for my business.(He was much faster in contacting me than I was in updating my review, I’m slacking.) I went back and the food was much better as was the wait. Everyone that I was with enjoyed their food. I did not try the boneless wings again as I am just not a fan of how they prepare them but I did have a burger and it was just as good as the first time. I will definitely go back again and update in the future.

I was contacted by management at Red Oak Pub regarding the cost of adding a side salad to an entrée. The menu states it’s $ 1.99 to substitute a side for a side salad. This is true. However, it’s also a $ 1.99 to ADD a side salad to an entrée. The wait staff have been instructed of this.

A tiny bit more expensive than other places in the area, but completely worth it. Great service, amazing food. The cheddar soup(I can’t remember the name, but it’s a cheddar/beer soup) is to die for. Our waitress was super sweet and joined in our celebration that we were having. Overall, great place!
