After a bad experience @ The Parking Spot and a coupon I received from email, I thought I would give Spot a try again. Well, the surly TSA agents continue to use this lot. But that’s not why I’m giving it two stars.
When I arrived on Friday, I was asked if I had a reservation. I replied in the affirmative. The cashier asked me, «Are you sure you made a reservation?» which seemed downright rude. I offered to show a print-​out of the reservation, but she said, «Naw, that’s all right.»
I attempted to redeem the free day coupon I received. When I went to check-​out today, I presented the coupon along with my Parking Spot Club Exec card to get the free day of parking offered to me. The cashier rang up my purchase and said she couldn’t redeem the coupon because I had a credit card linked to my Parking Spot Club Exec card. She tried to call someone to credit my day, but no one answered. She wrote down Michael the manager’s email address. however the email address turned out to be invalid. She never apologized or was in any way contrite.
So I hope this accurate 2-​star review will result in a reply from the manager so I get the proper credit per the coupon I received.
Edit: I did get a reply 2 days after posting my review. The coupon value was credited back to my credit card.

Others summarize it well. It’s a mixed use lot that departs the lot every 15 minutes. The departures from the lot are VERY punctual. But I found the return from arrivals to be a bit slower. There are less vans and I had to wait about 15 minutes for a pickup.
It’s good if you really need to save particularly on longer trips. But for less than a week long trip I prefer to spend the extra $ 1-​$ 2 a night.

I find Spot to be a reliable service. I’ve been using them for years. The shuttles do not leave immediately from the lot, and they do not circle the terminals as frequently as some of the other companies, but I’m fine with this. The price is decent and the drivers I’ve encountered have all been friendly and helpful.

Horrible. The lot is mixed-​use; airport employees and passengers use this lot. The shuttles are supposed to leave every 15 minutes, which is important for employees to get to work on time but the drivers will linger so that they can get a passenger on their shuttle.
There will be about 25 people waiting in line at anytime between 3a-​4a and the lot KNOWS this is when a majority of the work for starts, yet they will only have one shuttle ready. Once that shuttle leaves and the next one arrives, you would think they would pull off since you’ve already been waiting, but they refuse to leave until 15 minutes have passed.
There’s only one friendly driver and his name is Angel.
There’s another driver who can NOT driver and have almost caused multiple accidents while I was on the shuttle.
Overall, I think this lot is good if the drivers don’t know you work at the airport smh.

Generally very timely pickups when we return from trips. There’s always a bit of anxiety, wondering if we’ve just missed a ride, etc. there IS a more convenient Parking Spot (Haynes) but it’s also more expensive, so if you’re paying for it yourself, this one is the way to go.

Van service is frequent and drivers are usually helpful and pleasant. Lot is gated and close to the airport. Price is reasonable. The one con is that a lot of TSA employees park here so if your flight gets in around a shift change, it can take a while to get a van back to the lot and when you do, it is completely packed.

Easy check in with card. Frequent shuttles. Helpful, friendly staff. Great value.

I would second all of the other commenters who stated that this parking lot basically serves as de-​facto employee parking for TSA agents. I rode a packed shuttle back to the lot with them and many of them were pushy, rude and offensive. They cut me off in the parking lot to get to the exit, and then there was a huge line at the exit to leave the facility.
Meanwhile, on the trip to the airport, the driver was quite reckless. I would not park here again, and instead prefer the Parking Spot location at Haynes or Mclellan where I have had positive experiences before, and they actually pick you up at your car (not here!)

Easy to park, great rates, friendly helpful shuttle drivers. I use this lot often and will definitely use it again in the near future.

Absolutely horrible! Avoid this parking place like the plague! On top of that, the incredibly rude TSA people park in this lot and push you over with your luggage to beat you to a seat. When they have a shift change, you will be waiting at least 2 hours to get on a shuttle. Also, the drivers of the Spots do not come every 15 minutes like they are supposed to. We stopped to get gas on the way home, and we saw a driver sleeping in the shuttle at the gas station!!! No wonder why we didn’t see a shuttle every 15 minutes! They will be getting a letter and a phone call as well. Including a letter to the supervisor of the TSA people. Zero customer service and manners from anyone encountered here!

Not fantastic, lacking service compared to other Parking Spot locations.
Cons:
1. No covered parking (snow, ice, hail, rain, dirt from the freeway).
2. Drivers are mad men/​women, driving like crazy bats out of hell!
3. No water bottles available (don’t advertise that if you aren’t going to have it).
4. Expensive, and even though it looks close to the airport on the map, it is about 15 minutes, after the wait.
5. You have to wait, they won’t just leave right away.
6. They say they are always driving around at the airport, but you have to call and then wait.
Pros:
1. You can get coupons online.
2. Free reservations with a membership card.

Terrible service. I was waiting for the shuttle and the first one drove right past me. I had to wait 15 minutes for a second shuttle and when I called to check on the status, the lady on the phone hung up on me! Will be canceling my future reservations and finding a new lot.

Avoid this place like the plague!!! They will nickle and dime you for every little thing. Absolutely zero customer service here and the employees are just plain rude. The price I thought I would pay upon arrival ended up being completely different when I left even after talking to two supervisors there. I would rather walk to the airport than deal with these incompetent people.

‘Wow’ is all I can say, as in wow I can not believe how utterly poor the service was for this company.
This is the cheapest option that we could find but as the old saying goes «you get what you pay for». While waiting for 30 minutes at Terminal A for a pick-​up; we watched as their bus drove strait passed us. Called the number (twice) and took them another 20 minutes to come back around. Meanwhile the other two companies buses (both called «the parking spot») made passes and pick-​ups 3 times. We finally got to the lot, and subsequently the payment booth; only to find the attendant sleeping on the job. The entire experience was impersonal and unnecessarily time consuming. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks and save yourself the aggravation.

My experiences with Spot have been hit or miss, but lately it’s mostly been a miss. They clearly do not have enough shuttles for the amount of TSA agents that park here every day. Like the other reviews mentioned, sometime you have to wait for several shuttles before a shuttle with enough space comes by. On my last trip the driver wasn’t even helpful bringing in our bags, pretty standard practice for any Parking Spot that we’ve used around the country.
Aside from all that, the Spot is located in a weird location (I believe it’s right past the onramp) for getting to the airport and it seems like they need to make several more loops around before actually getting to the terminal. This can add time to your trip if you are running late.

I’ve been parking here for a while and this location is cheapest among the 3 spots located in Newark. The only thing is most of TSA employees park here too so by the time I get in the shuttle it’s already full and I had to wait for the next shuttle. Same issue going back to the lot. I’m usually in terminal c so by the time I called and the shuttle arrives it’s full of employees and I had to wait for the next one

I use Spot about 10 times per year and have been using it for many years — it is my exclusive place to park because 1) it’s cheap, 2) it’s easy with the Spot card, 3) I can make reservations to guarantee availability, 4) i can park myself under lights near Rt 9 (very visible) and take my keys with me (no valet theft issues), and 4) it’s a fast exit to the Turnpike.
The reservation is especially important during holidays when many lots are full. When I return from my trip I phone them and the bus is usually there within 5 minutes. It’s rare if I wait more than 10 minutes. For the initial departure drop off, you have to plan a few more minutes due to the circular route the bus must take to the terminals, but then i always show up early to enjoy the United Club lounges (not part of Spot). My priority is returning from a trip where I don’t want to hang around, and this place has a short return trip and exit to the Turnpike.
Realize that this is not luxury parking (you can go to McClellan but then you’ll have to leave your keys with them — not for me) but rather a basic park, lock deal. It’s like fast food and you have to set your expectations appropriately.
They used to offer free water upon check out, and that was a very nice (and inexpensive) perk after getting off an airplane. I wish that they would reintroduce that perk.

When I arrived at the pickup spot at terminal C there was no one around. I waited for 15min and no Spot buses showed up. Of course Wally, Hynes, McClenan and every other parking location had at least two and sometimes more buses pass by in the meantime.
I called the location and was told the bus was on the way. In the next 10min a bunch of TSA started to show up — end of shift? Since there is no line I had a fight coming to me — of who gets on the bus first…
And guess what if Terminal C shift is over so is A and B… 10 minutes later I called for bus ETA again — it was at terminal A I was told. Nothing happened in next 15min. It took the bus 15min to get from A to C and by that time the place was swarming with TSA.
I felt like I am about to get probed again — did they make their quota of taking water away today???
Of course when the bus shows up its full with guess who? TSA!
Dont know why driver stopped and opened the door he did not want to take anyone. Screw it I made my way into bus and was not leaving it to wait for a phantom second one…
All the ride back the TSA is blubbering how they need a closer parking and how everyday they have to wait 30+ min to get picked up.
Between the time we got to parking, getting of the bus, getting to the car, driving to the gates — no new buses arrived.
I am sure management knows when the TSA shifts are over. Not only they wait to run the bus to pick the probers, and not make another run for tax and fee payers. They also dont run extra buses. Obviously trying to squeeze every penny of the government contract.
This location sux, if you arrive later in the evening and in winter — prepare to be frozen.
And if you arrive at TSA shift start/​end — good luck making the bus.
About a month ago I was kicked of the bus going from parking to airport because by the time it arrived to gate waiting area it was full of TSA again. The driver didnt want ppl standing. Another driver was sitting further down and when I walked up to him he said I have to wait another 10min — it was 5am and cold. Thankfully the girl that was managing the location at the time screamed at the driver to get going.
Yes its cheap, yes they have good discounts — but plan on adding another 40−60min to your trip before you get on the road, ie a flight to BOS.
