I think this place changed owners the last time I came here! My last visit was when we recently moved to this part of town and that was almost three years ago I think. I didn’t go back because it didn’t taste fresh to me and the feeling after words was gross. but this time it was sooooo good !! I got the chicken pesto avocado with cranberry on wheat bread it was delicious ! The owners are soooo friendly as well it is family owned so make sure you give them a try!!!

These owners are so nice! They let me feel the bread to see it was soft enough and cut up fresh tomatoes because they felt the ones they had didn’t look fresh enough. You don’t get that kind of customer service anymore. They made made a perfect sandwich! Their garlic sauce is bomb! I will definitely be back :)

I’m only giving 2 stars because the people are Sooooo Nice, but I have to be honest. That cream of mushroom soup was watery and salty. The beef BBQ ranch sammich was a bust. I could not even finish it. I had to throw away. I walked in I thought the place was closed at first it was nothing in the meat counter it was empty. I thought because it’s Saturday they don’t have everything all out. The owner was so nice and accommodating. I just knew this would be the ultimate food with this ultimate Service. Well the food fell short. Sorry I should have just went to Eriks deli.

It was my first time here and it was not busy, but the service was quite slow. My coworkers who went next door to Cal Eats got their food and finished it before we even got ours! I saw our order being made and watched it sit on the counter getting cold before we finally got it. :(I ordered a gyro. It was really salty. Just ok. They used the microwave a lot to heat things up instead of using a grill or any other cooking surface. Probably will not go again unless it is the only place open.

Delicious and very generous portions. I will definitely come back here again. The owners are very nice and friendly. They have a wide selection of sandwiches and you can custome build your own as well. Must try.

Got my first sandwich from here this evening and it won’t be the last. I got the Ultimate turkey & bacon… It was yummylicious, superbly made, lots of turkey & I did not have to search for the bacon. GREAT SANDWICH!!!

This was a great find! I was introduce to this place by my friend! It’s pretty spacious with lots of tables & chairs. The workers (which in assuming are the owners) were extremely friendly & accommodating. I decided to order Roast beef with BBQ sauce, ranch & Swiss cheese (I wasn’t feeling cheddar cheese) plus everything (mayo, tomato, pickles, lettuce)! Except onion. I should’ve asked for more pickles! I ordered it on Dutch crunch bread. That was $ 7.99. I was worried eating the sandwich was going to be messy, but it wasn’t as messy as I thought! Though, I was given provolone cheese instead of the Swiss like I ordered. Provolone was a good mix though! I wish there was more meat since I feel like there was barely any. When ordering, they give you coupons for next time! I enjoyed my sandwich & I will be back!

Tried out Ultimate Deli for the first time today. I agree with others in saying that the owners are super nice. Excellent customer service and super attentive.
I ordered the vegetarian sandwich on a wheat roll. It was delicious and fresh. The person at the counter had said they have two veggie patty options as well. I didn’t go for it this time, but will definitely try the veg patty next time around.

Pretty delicious sandwiches here. I noticed today that they now serve gyros! Whaaaaat! So exciting! I’m gonna have to come back to try one from here, since today my craving was for pastrami. the roasted turkey with cranberry pesto is pretty yummy, too.

Crap!
I placed an online order 30 mins ahead and received my confirmation. Showed up at the time of pick up and they told me they just received my order. I don’t believe that. I think no one checked the online cue (which is a fax printer). Now I have to wait at least another 10 mins for my order.
Not much else to rate with this restaurant. It’s in a shopping center with ample parking like any other fast food place. Ambiance will only be as good as any other fast food place, so I can only rate on service, sped and accuracy. In this case FAIL.

Very friendly service the owners are so nice and sandwiches are good in size and they pack it with meat which is nice and prices are not bad at all. I would definitely come back here for a great sandwiches it’s way better than Mr. Pickle’s sandwich shop in Castro Valley

No frills sandwiches that are fresh and simple. Staff is extremely friendly and always offer extras once they see you’re a return customer.
Highly recommend for a fresh, healthy sandwich.

I came here with my boyfriend and would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a great sandwich at a reasonable price. The family that owns it are extremely friendly and made sure we left satisfied. I have not come across many businesses lately that care about customer satisfaction as much as they do. Really a great place. Plus they have bomb ass Baklava

Yeah, still 5 stars. The owners are very nice. I recall having a chat with the dude some time ago. He has some interesting stories about the Olympics and Canada. This was a while ago but he even gave us an Its-​It ice cream once.
Suggestion to owners: Not sure if you are allowed to do this but I’d recommend getting some LARGE awnings to block out the sun. Maybe even some umbrellas to keep the heat away from the entrance. All of those store fronts suffer from massive heat due to the unfortunate orientation towards the hot afternoon sun. That’s one reason why take-​out is so popular.

This is my favorite sandwich place is Newark. Granted there aren’t many but even so, it is a great small spot. The owner is very generous with the meat and extra toppings which I usually just pay back in tips.
I typically get the turkey pesto cranberry or the chicken avocado sandwich on dutch crunch.
Don’t forget to try their homemade garlic sauce! It pairs so nicely with any of the sandwiches.
Overall, great sandwiches and great people. Stay away from the quiznos and the subways and support your local businesses!

I am so glad to have finally tried the Ultimate Deli!!! Wow, this place can make a really yummy sandwich that’s for sure. I ordered the salami, cheese and avocado and used my discount Unilocal coupon for checking in. The lady behind the counter was extremely sweet and it was a pleasure ordering with her. The sandwich was by far one of the best deli type sandwiches I have ever had. The dutch crunch roll was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and all of the ingredients were very fresh. The amount of avocado was very generous as well as the amount of very thin sliced salami. I will be coming back here soon to try out a turkey, pastrami and possibly a gyro ( Unilocal pics look too good). THIS PLACE WILL KEEP YOUR BELLY HAPPY, trust me!

You can taste the freshness with every bite, a sandwich that feels homemade. the owner was super friendly. My girlfriend and I came here for our first time, thank goodness for Unilocal or else we would have never known about this place. Definitely my new top sandwich spot in the 510 area. Coming back again.
