Pilot. Big eater. Staying at Double Tree. Ordered veggie calzone — no eggplant, add pepperoni. House salad, no onion, extra vinegar. BEST calzone I’ve ever had! Salad was equally amazing. Comes with bread and butter. I ate ¾ calzone before I gave up. Fills a medium pizza box! Total was $ 15.13. Delivery time 45 minutes. DOIT!

I’m a flight attendant that frequents the doubletree newark regularly. I’m really over the horrible service i get there, so i decided to order delivery. My first choice was here at Tony’s. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs because, how the meatballs are made is usually a good indicator of the quality of the restaurant. Their salad is adequate, and their marinara is properly spiced. The issue i have is their meatballs. The ratio of breading to meat is awful, if it had something else(like onions and peppers.) it wouldn’t be that way. It just tasted bland. I’m going to try their actual meat sauce the next time to see if there is a difference. I’ll write back. I’m here at this hotel too often and would like a meal i would be happy with here.

Do yourself a favor and pay for the overpriced food at the airport instead of eating here. The pasta here was unbearably bland with cardboard like meatballs and their mushy pizza was no better. I would give this place one star if it wasn’t for the split pea soup and fried Oreos

Ordered tonight from Tony’s, apparently they didn’t understand that my girlfriend was vegan and half the pizza shouldn’t have cheese after I asked twice. Secondly they couldn’t get the concept of putting the sauce on the wings. I mean it’s not rocket science but either way the food wasn’t good at all, so after trying them for the first time it, it will def be the last time. Fat sandwiches are in what I’m guessing was half a calzone??? It was awful especially after having them down at Rutgers. If you are going to copy somebody at least do it right. Wasted cheat meal, absolutely disappointed, thanks for nothing Tony’s.

Not a fan of the Alfredo sauce. Pizza is excellent– best in the area. Love the buffalo chicken. Sort of slow but we’re in Harrison so it’s kind of understandable. The drivers always act like they don’t have to come in. That’s why you get a good tip. Sandwiches are pretty good. Mac and cheese bites, solid.

They’re open a little later than other pizzerias in the area, which is what led me to try them. Not enough cheese, not enough sauce & too much crust. If you like your pizza that way, than this place is for you.

Waited 2 hours for delivery. Every time I called to check the status on my food I was told in a few mins. 2 hours of waiting resulted into horrible soggy cold food. The worst service possible. I would rate it 0 stars.

I do not know how this place has good ratings. Not only did the pizza take an hour and 20 minutes to be delivered, when I opened the pizza box I already had a bad feeling because it didn’t even look good. I had ordered half pepperoni/bacon and the other half with vegetables. The side that had the meat on it the slices were ridiculously small compared to the side with the vegetables. The they seemed to have gotten a cheese pizza and just threw some vegetables on top of the pizza. It was not tasty at all. Not to mention I got sick afterwards. Had to throw the pizza out. I do not recommend this place. Should have taken the time to read the reviews. Next time I know.

I stopped ordering here a long time ago. After I waited almost two hours for my food and the order was still wrong and had to wait for the guy to come back with the rest. I SHOULD have got my order for free after all that hassle! BUTOFCOURSENOT! They don’t care about keeping their customers happy.

If your having a nice day and you feel like having a nice meal, maybe some pizza. Get it anywhere but here. Pizza was truly disgusting.

I don’t live in the area however I stay at the Hilton on a weekly basis. On my way to the hotel, I stopped in to grab a slice of pizza. I asked the if they had fresh slice, because what they had out did not look fresh. The pizza looked a day old. There was a worker there I presume he is a driver, «Alonzo» when I was about to walk out when he mentioned, the pizza pie under the counter may be fresh. I turned around and looked at the chef when he reach under to show me, I opt to stay and asked for a slice. I sat down when I noticed the head chef or manager or the owner, he would not give me his title. He reprimanded the driver«Alonzo» by the way the driver is handy cap, I stood up and defended Alonzo, telling the manager or who ever this person is, that Alonzo was looking out for his customers, trying to keep me from walking away taking my business else where. The manager was upset because the driver told me about the fresh pizza. Please if you are in the area DONOT visit this place and if you do please make sure you have fresh pizza and thank Alonzo. He looked upset that he was looking out for the better of the pizza shop and was told to mind his business. I can only imagine what goes on behind close doors! You will never get a penny of mine and I already made the Hilton aware of this, I also asked to get rid of any menus they have… Good Luck Alonzo and I hope you find a way to get out of there.

After eating what felt like a feast for lunch during New Years Day, I relaxed around the house. Hours later we wanted something to eat, but what?!? Luckily Tony’s was open!!! I called to place an order for a medium pie for delivery around 8:45 pm. They said it would take roughly an hour and 30 minutes to deliver. Umm… pickup? 30 minutes! I understand its New Years, and they are probably super busy. Who doesn’t eat pizza during the holidays – scratch that – every day? I’m about a 5 minute drive, so I thought that the better option was to pickup. I usually order from Tony’s a couple of times a year, and the pizza is always great! Sometimes their delivery – New Years or otherwise, isn’t the greatest, but I can tell you that the food and prices are worth it!

Ordered a medium pizza after arriving at Newark hotel for the night. Terrible terrible experience. You be the judge and decide if you want to give this place your business. —809pm — ordered pizza and told«within the hour» for delivery. —913pm — called to see where the driver was because no pizza yet. Told by guy who picked up that he had«just sent the driver out the door, any time now.» —945 — my hotel desk called for me to complain and inquire because they’d been seeing all this and couldn’t believe it. —955 — spoke to manager. She gave all the excuses about weather and being busy, zero apology. I asked for the full $ 11 returned to my card but she agreed to only have the driver give me $ 5 back as compensation for all this. Wow thanks. She said she had just sent the driver out and it’d be any time now. —10.02pm — driver called and told me to meet him in lobby because he’d be here in «3−4 minutes.» I go down to wait in rain immediately again. —10.15 — driver finally arrived with the predictably cold pizza, oh and the fu — -g Snapple. The Snapple. Yeah. Thanks, Tony’s. .. xoxo!!! This business appears to be a train wreck. Thanks for ruining my night guys. You’re ridiculous.

I was stuck at hotel row, Marriott spring hill Suites, courtyard, and Fairfield Inn. No restaurants available in the immediate are other than some Bistro at the courtyard that got horrible Unilocal reviews. I had no car and considered taking the shuttle back over to the airport just to eat. Glad I discovered Tony’s. OMG. The chipotle chicken salad was awesome and was a meal in itself. Ordered the meat lovers pizza and have to say, it was Yum Yum Yum. They delivered to the hotel within 30 minutes. I had a happy Buddha tummy.

Update: I called and was promised a new pizza delivered by a different driver. 30 mins later a knock at my door and it was the same driver and she complained about me complaining about the pizza. Saying it wasn’t that bad. Then she paused like I’d give her another tip. Pizza was bland and gummy never ordering from them again. I ordered previously the chicken parm and it wasn’t that great either.

Reason for the one star: I’ve lived in the ironbound all my life. Growing up I would always go to Tony’s. Great customer service when I was younger but can’t say the same as of today. Tonight I decided to order some food from there even though the last time I ordered they messed up my order. But let bygones be bygones, right? WRONG! The young lady taking my order was completely rude. I’m trying to tell her my order and she’s rushing me! So I wasn’t surprised that when my order arrived it was wrong with an item left out. The deliver guy was also very rude. The only polite person in that establishment was the owner. Which is a shame! Such a great restaurant gone to crap because of the people who work there. I will NEVER order from there again.
