Today I walked in about 4:35pm to take advantage of the happy hour from 2−6pm. When I entered there was maybe 4 people visible besides the young Caucasian guy behind the bar. I stood there for about 5min. He never greeted me, made eye contact or anything customer service driven was obvious to me. I often come here and there’s a different young guy that runs the bar and cook with great customer service. Has he ever forgot something? Yes, but he was always apologetic and ready to get whatever was missed immediately. Today was a disappointing experience, please bring back the other guy and keep the manager’s dog out of the kitchen.

So bad on many levels. We sat at the bar, almost left when we walked in because there was only 2 people in the entire place. Granted it was 4 oclock, but on a Saturday? Drinks were fine, bartender seemed cool and suggested the Pot Roast, said he had it earlier and it was awesome. Was gonna get a burger but switched. Something happened to it since he had it because it was super dry and tasteless. I tried 5 bites and bailed out. Salad was blah and full of roast juice. Wife had nachos which I ate most of! At the end I had to convince him to wave the PR because it was horrible. After negotiations of drink discounts I had to give him the«come on guy really?» look and he reluctantly agreed to not charge me for the PR. Why was there any doubt? Go here for beer and pool, nothing else! Oh plus we waited slurping on an empty glass for what seemed forever while he chatted with a friend until I asked him to check us out. Crazy

Amazing entertainment venue! A sports bar at heart, this remodeled dive provides your standard entertainment(pool, gambling and televized sports) with a little kicker: non stop events! They have dances, live bands and even comedy shows! A definite must see for Portland folk and Wine Country tourists! 1st St. Pub, this Unilocalers diamond in the rough

This pub is awesome on all levels. Not only was the service fast and friendly, but the food was delicious and the beers were cold and varied. They have local micro brews on tap depending on season, and the bartenders are always friendly. I highly recommend this spot, from a local– you’ve got to try the pub!!!

Unfriendly is an understatement… And for no reason thanks for the bubba burger and old tater tots said no one ever.

Lots of pool tables… I have never had to wait for a table. The jukebox has some good music. I havent eaten there but they do usually have good beer on tap. Ninkasi has been our favorite lately. Service is usually good but we havwnt been there when it has been very busy.

I have been here a few times and it was pretty cool. Seems like the younger crowds hang out here, but I didn’t feel like it mattered much. Service was kinda slow, but friendly enough. The music on the jukebox can be loud at times but if it’s too loud, you’re too old.

It’s in the Berg, but it has beer, an interesting crowd, pool and a dance floor. Something for everyone!

It is what it is. Probably the best bar in Newberg, but that’s not really saying much. The food and drink specials are usually alright. I’ve noticed that some bartenders are better than others in terms of customer service and overall attitude, but the worst ones still aren’t all that bad. The clientele is a weird mix of country bumpkin meth heads and students from George Fox. It’s kind of a crapshoot as to what the crowd will be like on any given night. All in all, it’s an okay place to hop into for a drink or two. But not a place I like to hang out at for too long.

This should or could be one of this small town high-lights, but its not. Young, apathetic bartenders light on customer service skills. We played three rounds of pool and were never asked about getting us another drink besides the first order we made at the bar ourselves. I did notice however, that both girls took a number of smoke breaks during the 1.5 hours we were there. The chicken nacho was made with the bottom of the bag chips and waitress did not provide utensils to eat it with. Music is a loud obnoxious juke box, god forbid some enjoys death metal and wants to play song after song of what sounded like the Exorcist greatest hits. Come on. I sure hope these owners read these reviews, if not, then your better off skipping this joint for say, playing pool in your neighbors basement.

This bar is only steps from my house. It is not usually crowded, there are pool tables, the beer is cold, the service is hit or miss. It is a typical small town bar. Surprisingly I always seem to get cat called by the daytime regulars who are smoking outside while I walk past it to run errands on foot. Not the bars fault, but it speaks to the type of clientele they have :) It’s not worth a special trip, but if you are in the area it is a good little place to grab a drink.

Drinks were cheap, appetizers weren’t bad, service(one gal working) was initally cool then very pleasant(I guess she needed to get to know us), and for a Saturday afternoon, with the Final Four games on of March Madness there were 4 or 5 people in the place, none except us watching the hoops. The casual seating furniture did have a musty smell that shoud be addressed, but otherwise it was fine as dive bars go…

Stopped in here pre Super Bowl. Where the only ones in the bar with two other people having bloody Mary’s. Just had drinks. The bartender was pretty nice. It’s good I can still get carded in late 30’s. That’s ok! I loved this litle place and stumbling on it was the best experience. The bartender was definitely something else. I’m sure this is quite the spot on weekend nights!

After a night of hobnobbing at Departure, a fancy-schmancy afternoon of wine tasting at Rex Hill Winery and a special event at Adelsheim Winery that was supposed to involve hors d’œuvre, we were starving and yes, hungover. We stopped at the first place that looked open and that happened to be the First Street Pub. Even though smoking has not been allowed in bars for some time now, I could smell the ghost of cigarette past. I also had a weird flash-back. Turns out I was at this pub two Halloween’s ago with a date. We had drunkenly stumbled in and ended up in a costume contest. We won beer. As my friend and I cozied up to the bar we were looked up and down by the scruffily dressed regulars. Yeah, we looked out of place but what the hell, we were really in the mood for some honky-tonk grub and this place did not disappoint. The gal behind the bar was super friendly, offered to toast my turkey sandwich, and delivered some really tasty tots that were really hot and crispy. I so love tots. This grub really hit the hangover-be gone button. The banter between the server and the regulars was pretty entertaining and we could tell that this pub was definitely their regular hangout. My friend and I were having a pretty good time and conversation until they asked for the music to be turned up. And oh hell, did it have to be Metallica?(I hate that kind of music) And did it have to be so damn loud that my hungover head was rattling? Thank God we were almost done eating… The sandwich was pretty good sized and I took half of it with me. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough after the music was turned up.

Pool hall with 6 tables. Me and the BF went there on a free night to have a few drinks and shoot pool. Walked in and a guy at the bar goes– hey you wanna get Drunk? Let me buy you a shot! You like tequila? Um, yeah! I like tequila! We had a really fun night and it was CHEAPASHELL. What a great local dive bar. And their jukebox actually had a pretty good selection as well. This is my kind of place.
