This was our first time here. Everything we ordered was excellent which included chile colorado super burrito, pork tamales, chili relleno, and a stuffed chicken torta(very interesting). The array of hot sauces in bottles and squeeze bottles was great.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! Very authentic and such a great atmosphere. You can tell when you go in there that the owners put a lot of work into making the customers happy. Delicious desserts, yummy candy, to die for homemade sauces(at least I think!) and super comfortable booth seats. like seriously why are those so nice? The food is incredible and I can’t wait to go back!

Food is flavorful and portions are huge. My husband had a carne asada burrito and I had the burrito abhagado(spelling). Delicious!

I’m still a fan. However, they raised their prices across the board a few months ago. I think everything is $ 1 – 2 too expensive for what you get. And still glacially slow service. But it is IMO still the best quality food in the area. I still go there but not as often.

Tasty and authentic! I had a cheese quesadilla, and it was quite good — the tortilla was obviously fresh. My husband had a carne asado burrito that he raved about, and we split a sope that was great. After dinner we hit the panaderia side of the shop and picked up a number of goodies that were clearly fresh and tasted delicious. Better still, the service was great(we didn’t realize that they closed at 8:00pm on Sunday and showed up at 7:58pm, and they graciously served us), and the prices were very reasonable. I think we’ve found our go-to mexican restaurant in Newberg!

I love this place! It’s really good, normally super fast, and affordable. The chips and salsa come with every order(even to go orders). I love that it is a sit down place! There are many options and everything is really good. Would recommend!

Fresh homemade Mexican food in a mom and pop environment. Perfect for your days when you’re craving an authentic taco and a delicious pastry. I think their tortillas are homemade which is awesome. I used to go to Sanchez for my homemade taco fix but I think this will be my new go to! Their salsa is the bomb too! Best I’ve had.

I’m grew up on the Eastside of Los Angeles and have had my fair share of Mexican food from mom and from local eateries. The breakfast was tasty, and I appreciated the handmade tortillas. The feel of the place is authentically Mexican. Because there are less Mexican restaurants then down south in my neck of the woods I give this establishment four stars, however if it were located back home I would rate it a three star establishment. By the way their panaderia(bakery) has a decent selection of Mexican bread. I will be back to Gonzalez’s when I return to Newberg, Oregon

Best Mexican food in the area. Very authentic and loved the bakery. Their salsa is the best, I was pleasantly surprised. Since I’m a Cali girl, I know my Mexican food and they have the hook up for Northern Oregon area.

Amazing authentic chips, salsa, steak fajitas, bean and cheese burrito and pastel 3 leches cake from on sight bakery. They also have birthday cakes with Disney items for only 17.99 plus 5.00 if you want the Disney characters and castles.

This is my favorite place for Mexican food. Everything is made from family recipes, and the homemade taste puts this place at the top of the list. Look for the specials, posted behind the counter. After you order, you’ll get a bowl of chips with pico de gallo. When your food arrives, the waitress will bring you three squeeze bottles with incredible homemade salsa. The murals are cheesy, but endearing. The chicken tacos are amazing. From time to time, I order tamales or enchiladas for variety. They are just as good. The menu includes graduate-level Mexican food, like menudo. Feel free to explore, but I stick to my old favorites.

Oh wow, authentic Mexican food and a Mexican bakery in one!!! Equates to one happy girl here. Can they just pick this place up and move it closer to me? Seriously? You lucky Newbergians! This is a fabulous delicious ultra yummy homemade little shop of wholesome food made with love. Tacos are usually a deciding factor of Mexican cuisine for us. I get the chicken, carnitas, and carne asada normally, and big daddy gets the asada, lingua, and fish usually. That way we are sampling all the meats as simple and as clean as it can come(and should only be) just garnished with diced white onion and fresh cilantro. Which is just what they do here! :D Everything was fabulous and fresh. So you know, this restaurant looks kind of like half a restaurant and half a bakery, as that’s what it is… lol. So you order at the counter, but they bring the food out to you where you choose to sit. They have booths and tables. You also order your chips and salsa, I believe they cost 1.50 per basket. And they have lovely refreshing horchata here… oh after a long afternoon in the sun that was gone fast!!! Also, They do not have a full bar here FYI, but they do serve beer. Just an all around great place!!! :D and don’t forget to grab some fresh pastries when you leave. Large selection, and their Churros are to DIEFOR!!! :)

I personally really enjoy this place. I’m kind of a stickler for Mexican food when I go out and this place passes my tests. It’s spacious inside and located right on the main drag of downtown Newberg. It’s on par with other places that I’ve had that I am loyal to. What I really enjoy is their chicken Quezadilla which I’m addicted to. Their tacos are exceptionally good as well and always win me over every time I take a bite. The staff is really nice and friendly. It’s also a Mexican bakery which is pretty fun I think and gives it a charm that«just» Mexican food places don’t offer. Go, you won’t be disappointed.

Let’s get down to it. This place is awesome. They have a huge rack of tasty fresh mexican pastries and breads of all different types. I got a bag of conchas and puercos for a few bucks, and some out of the rack, those filled pocket ones… sweet potato! It smelled great and the food looked fabulous, there was a good crowd in there. It’s a little market too. I’ll definitely be hitting this place again!

Wow the tacos are so delicious. The meat has great lingering flavors with all the spices from the salsas. Must try the following meats: Tripa Carne en salsa verse Pastor The refried beans and the rice have very delicious flavor. A must try when in Newberg.

the reviews drew me in to this place. first, i really don’t like the menu it’s the size of a high school announcement board or something. they had a good selection of mexican food. the burrito i ordered was reasonably priced and well portioned. they put some kind of red sauce on top that reminds me of spaghetti sauce. they also have a bakery section that’s fairly cheap too. i tried 2 things and they were pretty decent. i saw a bunch of people getting 10+ items from their bakery section. overall feel of a mexican cantina.

On your way to the coast next time stop in here for some great homemade Mexican food in this family run, long term Newberg business. I have been going here for at least 15 years, back when they had a different location. They make their own Pan and have great specials, good tacos and all at a decent price. The only reason i don’t give them a fifth star is value, a lot of other great Mexican food places in the PDX area have as good if not better food for a slightly lower price. That being said, if you live in Newberg or are driving through it is an awesome place to stop. When i lived in Newberg i went here at least twice a week. Now every time i go through town with a few bucks and a little extra time. Being family run, the service is a little slow but exceptionally friendly. If you don’t know what something is just ask and the will tell you in kind and informative way and maybe even give you a sample. Good, fresh, food, friendly service, family owned and run, the type of business i love to support.
