Walked in, and got no «hello» or anything. The first thing said to me was, «Do you have a different shirt?» Was then told that we could not eat there. Work on your customer service skills; there was no reason for your hostile attitude and there was so many ways you could have not been a prick about it.

First I want to say that I really like Izzy’s. It’s a good place to take the kids and they can help themselves. They have a great salad bar and I have always loved the potato rounds. The steak is also cooked to order and they are very good too. I also want to say that I usually only see the negative reviews here. Of course people think that they should have a 5 star meal where ever they go. Get over it people! It’s a serve your place so you have to get off of your butt and serve your self. This is good and hearty place to eat at not bad prices. This is for the owners… you guys are awesome. You always have a smile and are always helpful when we come in. My kids love it and so do I.

By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The food was terrible. It was mostly cold, the meat was terribly dry and was full of bones with very little meat. Just about everything we tried was horrible in some way shape or form. Anthony went to go pay before we were done to get it taken care of. Shortly after we both got up to get ice cream at the same time. We then notice one of the staff clearing our plates. still having food we weren’t done eating on them. After I see that she decided to clear our table and was pissed about how much food that was left, I didn’t want to return to the table. So Anthony said that I can eat in the slots area. We are there for about a minute before the woman who cleared our table came in asking if there was something wrong with our food. We didn’t want to be rude and said no we just weren’t done before you cleared the table. She got an attitude with us and said well you left your table with plates full of food and threw her hands up in the air and made a scene. At this point everyone is looking at us so I lost my appetite for my ice cream and walked out of there crying because she made me feel like shit for her mistake and totally embarassed me. Anthony got upset and said we paid for the food, what gives you the right to talk to us like that? Her response? Well I’m the owner. Thanks for making someone who’s pregnant with a severe stomach condition feel like shit. I can’t believe she’s still in business with that terrible food and her horrendous attitude. I’ll never go there again. The food was terrible compared to any other Izzy’s I’ve been to.

Monday night, not many guests. Salad good… everything else bad. For crying out loud, not even any ice cream. One server, seating guests, filling ice, bussing tables, serving from the grill, busy lady. Was good in past… not so much anymore. Leaving…now she turns on the ice cream machine, figures.

Just gave a LAST try on 2−14−16. More empty vats, others just about empty. Totally out of jojo which is why I came. I told the cashier Id had many bad experiences and they were out of the potatoes AGAIN. She literally didn’t care and just laughed and said«well thats the luck of the draw». Sorry, but this place is HORRIBLE, unprofessional, and laughable now. Avoid if you are wanting anything decent for your money. Previously: Was here a few months ago and the experience was crap, so decided to try again as a treat and to see if things were better. I show up and was going to eat-in, but there were literally no plates available; so I decided to go the take-out route. I go get my foam box and proceed to the buffet where 5 of the vats are totally empty, and others are nearing empty. The stuff in the salad bar is all watery. The pizzas are sitting there with no heat lamps it appears, and are pre-sliced so small it’s comical. I’ve never been embarrassed for a pizza place before, but here we are. I go to pay and the lady is nice but takes forever. Food once home after just a few minutes, which consisted of tiny pizza slices, watery mac & cheese, and bland potatoes simply because the rest of the vats were empty, was greasy and all tasted very«generic» or «boxed». Bottom line after another bad experience: if you want a meal, don’t go here. Sorry. It used to be a good place.

The salad bar is fresh and clean, and the employees are somewhat friendly but our gripe with this Izzy’s is that there is no server need(except to bring you your bill), but every time we’ve gone to the register to pay, they ask«Do you want to leave a tip?» NO, we don’t because the servers have done nothing to help with our meal experience! Stop asking!!!

This place is dirty, the management are rude and not nice at all. I was waiting for change, she had to go back and get some, it took her forever. I asked her what took so long, she told me that she had to get change from the lottery machines, and proceeded to tell me how stupid the people was that came into the restaurant. This person’s name was Jennifer. As I was waiting, I watched her miss treat her employees, degrade them in front of the customer. She treats people awful. I will not be back to watch this again.

Went to Izzy’s for dinner last night. The food was not good. Even the salad bar was terrible. The lettuce was so watery. No clean plates, or glasses. The hot food bar was out of food, and the food that was available was horrible. The service was even worse. Two ladies were working. One was running her tail off, while the other seemed annoyed at the amount of people. When we went to pay the line was 5 people deep and new customers walking in the door. The poor lady who had been running herself ragged all night was trying to get to everyone. When we went to our car, we see the other lady outside on break smoking a cigarette. She clearly did not care about her customers or coworker. We will not be back!

We’ve eaten here many times. It’s the kind of place where you feel that you’re putting up with major wear and tear and often grumpy/slow service to be able to support a local business and find a quick solution for a hungry family. Well… no more. On our last visit – the seemingly ever-annoyed owner told my wife that she had«no control over your children» as my two year old daughter stumbled towards the bathroom 10 feet in front of my wife. When my wife suggested that we didn’t need to come back, if he was so unhappy with kids – he retorted«that would be great!» And stormed off. Wish you knew us for the sake of knowing the absurdity of this statement – you’ll have to trust me when I say that my kids aren’t perfect – but we keep them very close and are quite mindful of their behavior. What’s more to say? Another rundown trashy Newberg restaurant bites the dust. Hopefully to be replaced by people who love the community and the source of their revenue – customers(and their kids.)

This is sad. I’ve been eating here since the restaurant opened in the early 90’s and have seen all the owners come and go. There are new owners now. I don’t know if the waitress we had tonight is married to the owner or what the deal is, but WOW she is cranky! She was so snappy at us before our bottoms hit the seats we laughed at first, but then as time went on we saw that the energy is bad in the restaurant. It was not just her.(The staff from the previous owners who are still working there are not the problem.) It was so bad that it ruined our family’s night. I gave 2 stars only for the sake of the food being fresh.

Owners have horrible customer service, their employees are friendlier and more apriciative than them. The food variety is minimal compared to others izzys and did I mention the awful customer service from the people wearing name tags mentioning they were the owners?

I read the other Unilocal!reviews. I thought, «maybe they are just being picky. Maybe it’s not really that bad. There aren’t that many reviews — maybe they are just getting killed by a small sample size.» Well, the other reviews were spot on. This place is awful. I LOVELOVELOVE pizza. And while I appreciate the finer pies in life, I’m no stranger to Little C’s, Cici’s, and dominos. Heck, I even like Red Baron from the freezer section! But this? I don’t like this. I hate this. The crust literally sticks to your teeth. How is that even possible? The sauce is completely devoid of flavor, the cheese is tough, dry, and gross, and the toppings, while sparse, manage to leave a bad taste in your mouth. If you happen to go for the lunch buffet, the rest of the food is equally terrible. It’s not clean. They even manage to mess up soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Not even that is good! This pizza place will disappoint you in every way. There is NOTHING to like about it. Grab a stale cheeseburger or a day-old taco. Eat some some crumbs from the cracks of your seat, or scrape a piece of gum off the sidewalk for a snack. But for the love of food, do not ever eat this.

Service was a 5 star experience the food was filling. First off I would like to point out that this location closes at 9P.M. and not 10 P.M. We followed the website and assumed that this location would be open until 10 P.M. This was my first time ever dining at an IZZY’s. We drove across town to visit this location. I had no idea that they were about to close because the website says 10 P.M. The hostess and possible shift leader, Gretchen, went above and beyond to accommodate us. She was super kind, friendly, and outgoing and made our service experience memorable. She is a true rising star in the service industry. A true kind heart. As per the food; I liked the baked beans, potato rounds, chicken wings and some of the pizza. My husband liked the artichoke pizza, garlic pizza bread, and salads were fresh. The mac and cheese needs the use of a sharper cheddar. This version was a bit bland for my taste. I would try Izzy’s again. I am gonna put a request out that Unilocal change their hours at least for this location. Get you buffet on.

The food was good for a buffet and the people working were friendly and helpful. When I requested a pizza for the buffet, they happily made it and offered me a few pieces at my table before putting it out for everyone else. All of the food seemed to be fresh, which was appreciated. If you want a good quality family buffet, then this is a solid reasonably priced choice.

My son and I eat here all the time. I like the salad bar and he likes the pizza and ice cream. The service is always good, the food is always fresh and the tables are always clean. Unlike other Izzy’s restaurants, which are old and dark, this one is pretty new with big windows. After a few visits, you get a bit tired of the exact same food, but it’s reliable.

The Food: Do you enjoy quality ingredients, freshness or flavor? Do you eat out for inspiration or to be dazzled by creativity? Well, unfortunately Izzy’s doesn’t. There tagline should read«We know it’s crap but its cheap, hot crap». The service: What service? You serve yourself! Unless the Grimm Reaper counts as your waiter. The staff should be ashamed for allowing this death parlor to serve the public. The bottom line: If you’re trying to commit suicide there are quicker ways than torturing yourself slowly at Izzy’s. Forget the lunch special($ 5.99) and spend your last $ 5.99 on a can of Vortex and a 5 pack of razor blades. I promise it will be less painful.

I have never felt the need to write a review until I at at Izzy’s on 12÷17÷12. There was one hostess, and one waitress. We ordered the pizza bar and full buffet. The good: The salad bar was good, with good selection. Yep that’s about it. The bad: 15 minutes to get pizza out on a buffet??? My wife ordered from the grill, a piece of fish and steak. The restaurant was not busy, but it took about 15 minutes to cook a bite size piece of fish and steak. The fish, my wife spit it out. The steak was actually good, but was two bites at best. When we finally saw a waitress, we told her about the fish, she did offer to get a new piece, but who wants another bad piece of fish. We ordered more steak, the cook had three orders on the grill. 15 minutes later, when both my son and I were done eating, out came the steak nuggets and more fish. My brave wife tried the fish again, mistake. She needed a mint to get the awful taste out of her mouth. Pizza — you used to go to Izzy’s for the pizza. Not any more. It’s okay, probably buffet quality, but it is not good pizza. When we checked out at $ 35+ we told the waitress someone should check the oil they are cooking the fish in. She said, yes we know, we just changed it and we are training a new cook. It’s good to know that the training program requires the new guy to figure out the oil is bad. Who would think the experienced guy would do something about it. We can eat, get full and have a salad at Abby’s pizza less than a mile away and it is good quality pizza for about the same price.

Izzy’s Pizza helps prove the point that most buffets are horrid. The cheese on the pizza here is hard, the sauce has dried under the heat lamps and you could use the crust as a chew toy for your dog. Save your money and time and eat elsewhere.

Cold food, bad service(Our server didn’t even know what wine was, as in he had no clue what we were asking for when we asked for a glass of Chardonnay). Skip this buffet you will thank me.

Eh. I’ve had worse, but I’ve also had much, much better. Prices aren’t bad for what you’re getting — nine dollars at lunch and eleven at dinner — but quality is rather conspicuously absent at this all-you-can-eat buffet. The food may have originally been good, but after sitting under a hot light for five hours, it is about as hard as a rock — and as tasty. The chicken was underdone, the spinach at the salad bar wilty, and the pizzas resembled dessicated cardboard. Aside from the lengthy wait prior to sitting down — and not because it was busy, but because it was there was no one present — service was all right. In short, if you’re looking for a hotplate buffet joint, go to Izzy’s, but if you’re looking for flavor, edibility, and charm, go somewhere else.

I have to start by saying that I am not a fan of buffets. The only«all-you-can-eat» type joint I like is Fresh Choice and sadly they don’t have anything like that in Portland Metro. OK, so the good: the price is definitely good and you get as much food as you can stomach. The bad: waiting for 10+ minutes just to be seated when the place was dead because the waiter was«busy» watching another customer play video poker. The ugly: all of the food seemed to have been sitting out for quite some time and was either soggy, hard as a rock, or so greasy/sticky that I felt dirty afterword. Do yourself a favor, walk across the parking lot and go to Burgerville. You’ll be much happier for it.

Five stars for quantity NOT quality(except for the service, which was high octane) I’m pretty sure this must be the singular BEST place to come in town if you are so hungry that your eyes are popping out of your head…(They just scoop that shit up and put it in the pineapple upside-down cake.) Yum! Choosing this restaurant after a long day of playing volleyball can go down in history as one of the best decisions EVER made by a group. There is plenty of room here for conflicting dietary standards. In the room we sat in, there was a flat panel TV broadcasting sports on repeat that was also easy to tune out. I wasn’t expecting much in terms of service when we walked in, but I was pleasantly surprised! Our waitress was really nice and kept our table clean and HAPPY. The one thing about the all-you-can-eat buffet is that you gotto know when to stop. I mean, those clean plates just keep coming. There is a full salad bar, jello, ambrosia, apple sauce, cantaloupe, pizza, fried chicken, shrimp, hard boiled eggs, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and then a full dessert bar with cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes, you name it… This place has everything under the sun for $ 10.50. Can you beat that? Didn’t think so.

The Izzy’s in Newberg is decent. I believe it has undergone some sort of management/owner changes recently and they have renovated. The buffet is pretty good for a Izzy’s. They have a large salad bar which pretty much anything you can think of… except shredded cheese. I know this is minor, but you would think a pizza place would have some cheese to put on salads. The chicken is great, both the fried and bbq/teriyaki varieties. The smoked salmon tempura is surprisingly pretty good, with strong smoke aromas. The girls who work the tables are great, always friendly with the little kids and attentive to refilling your drinks and taking your plates. Izzy’s buffet is a great place to take the family for a little variety. Keep an eye out for coupons in the local merchant newspapers.
