Don’t waste your time. The attitude of the kitchen staff is what turned us off here. We just wanted a quick bite to eat while passing through town and it was 30 minutes before closing. When the cook saw us enter, he threw an absolute tantrum in the kitchen! So pissed off that he might actually have to make food during the posted open hours of the business! We didn’t even make it to our table — just turned around and left. Not the kind of place I feel comfortable eating in.

If you like dirty and overpriced mediocre food and lackluster service, this is the place for you!

Absolutely huge portion sizes! I got the skillet wand was not disappointed! If you’re in town and looking for large satisfying breakfast I recommend this place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

An odd find. In the parking lot of the Shilo Inn, I was like, really?, but we went in. A little dated, but clean. Very friendly staff, quick with the coffee. We went in after noon for breakfast. WOW. A nice selection, and the food was obviously freshly prepared by someone who knows how to cook, pancakes has a hint of … vanilla, maybe nutmeg … fluffy and good. French toast was a good size, fluffy insides, good egg flavor, just crisp outside. Couldn’t ask for more. Breakfast for 2 — $ 25 And did I mention the sincerely nice staff. A nice spot. It’ll be a regular spot.

Food was ok, not fabulous but not bad. The part that was bad was the service. Frazzled older lady trying to train a new girl. Another older lady who tried to help but did not listen at all. We would like that part to go, her response«ok so you want that first»? No to go please, so she brings it out on a plate before all the other food. Frazzled lady took the wrong food to just about every table in the place. The people behind us got incorrect things on their bill. Probably won’t be back.

Great service, all day breakfast, wonderful location, and delicious skillets. Had the corn beef hash. Really tasty and simple. It was filling and hit the spot. Prices were very reasonable and it reminded me of the good olé days of going out for breakfast after church. It isn’t anything fancy but is definitely filling and fast.

Great, fancy greasy spoon breakfast. Delicious bloody Mary’s. I have never struck out here. The skillets are my favorite.

First went into the lounge, waited 10 min and nobody came over to serve us. We went into the restaurant and got seated right away. The place really smelled bad, but we gave it a shot. Our server acted like she didn’t want to help us, we gave her our order, and after she brought our food she left. No sign of her after that. Another waitress filled our drinks and rang our bill. Really poor service but the food was ok

We go here when we want quick yummy breakfast. Everyone we have come in contact with is always very friendly and always remember my kids :) I only get the country skillet! It is one of the best skillets I have ever had! My family loves everything they have tried. Would be a 5star but we wish it was open later and my skillet comes with biscuits and they are sadly always very dry. But we love this place :)

This was a random stop on the way out for a day with the family. We needed to stop for breakfast on the way from portland to our final destination, but did not really want to stop at the usual«chain» breakfast places. As we’re trying to figure out where to go, we passed J’s and decided it was worth a try, and it was on our way. We were incredibly surprised at everything. The service was fast, the people were unbelievably friendly, food was great and affordable. What a find!!! I just wish it was closer to us in Portland, so we could come here every weekend. It is so rare these days to have all of those pieces in one place. Well done J’s.

I think it’s been a fixture in Newberg for a long time, but the service was nonexistent in the lounge and the place was dead. They’re not always open when their signs say that they are going to be and when/if they are, they close early. I didn’t actually eat any of the food, but that’s only because nobody ever asked me if I wanted anything. So, while I sat in the lounge, I played video crack for about 30 minutes. It’s a great place to go, if you just want to be left alone.

Great breakfast, yummy burgers. The hubs and I usually split the chicken fried steak breakfast and it is perfect. The amount of food is very generous. The happy hour menu is awesome. The chicken strips are insane! My only complaint is they need to do some updating. If they did they would probably be a lot busier. From the outside this place looks a little shabby but dont let that fool you. give them a try!

We go for Sunday breakfast here quite regularly and find that there is always a table ready. They seem competently staffed and I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes past ordering for my food! The décor is a little ‘meh’ but who cares about pastel wall and floor coverings when it’s breakfast time? Cannot speak for the lounge or dinner services, but we will continue to frequent J’s for morning meals.

«Good Breakfast» We meet Kids and Grandkids there for Breakfast. The servers are very patient with small children. Children’s menu and coloring. Lids on children’s cups. The atmosphere is older but clean. The food is good, well portioned, and arrived in a reasonable time, considering there were 12 of us. What was the biggest upside?, is they DON’T add a automatic 15−20% gratuity for 8 or more people

I gave it an extra star as it was a good surprise! I was worried as it looked a little run down. The food was good and hot. I had quiche with soup. They do have drinks and it looked like a good selection of wine and beer. I did not have any. Service was perfect! Got here at lunch and the place started filling up. If you are in the area try it! Prices are good as well.

Not bad, but could use some improvement. We ordered 2 breakfast items, the french toast with eggs and sausage, and the country skillet. The french toast tasted like wonder bread dipped in egg. The sausage and eggs were mediocre. It was a small breakfast for $ 10.39. Only 2 slices of the wonderbread sized french toast.(See picture) The skillet meal was much better, with potatoes, eggs, meat, and gravy. The biscuit was the driest biscuit I have ever encountered though, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The odd thing is that the skillet breakfast was less expensive, and had more food. I might go back if I really wanted a skillet type breakfast, but probably not. The service was good, nice friendly people.

Not bad you know? It’s not the Ritz but… It’s fun for happy hour which when I go. The staff is really friendly. It’s a good deal for what it is and it’s important to remember that. Go, have a beer in the bar and get the Quesadilla! It’s usually pretty quiet which is nice sometimes.

I really like there brunch menu. They can accommodate some gluten free option with gluten free bread. Their chicken sausage is gluten free and you can subitute fries for sweet potatoes. Our told us they can subitute meat for certain idea as well. So if you have any food restrictions they will do there best to accommodate is what I’m saying.

We noticed the quality going down the last couple of years. It used to be a great place to eat and we miss it. My wife and I decided to give it one last try. … The mushroom Swiss burger I had was lame, and the bun was pretty hard. We have decided to stay away from here until we hear of changes. This type of restaurant needs to sell fantastic cheeseburgers.
