This is the second mess up Sandwich express has made for a take out order. What really got to me is when I called the manager from home and how she lied about the order she messed up. Their food is good but please eat there to fix your ORDER problems. They just do not pay attention when you order. Day dreaming management with excuses instead of apologies. Waste of gas…

Second time here the sandwiches are average but there’s nothing express about the service when the girls in the back are done chatting then they will be more than happy to help you

We decided to grab lunch here because we had a 40 minute wait my son could get his haircut next door. Our order was taken right away. We got our drinks and sat down. The place is run by teenage girls– who were being typical teenage girls in the back. At one point they decided to crank up the music just a bit too loud. They were sharing pictures to each other on their phones and one girl went on about getting her tongue pierced. Our food arrived quickly and was good. The atmosphere was terrible. Even as various girls walked around the shop no one smiled or said hi or asked us how are food was– and we were the only one there. They have uniform t-shirts that they are allowed to pair with whatever they want. The go to looks like messy buns and yoga pants. I will not eat here again.

Placed a to go order. We were told they only had battered fries today. Longer than normal wait…20 minutes. Watched folks that came in after us order, get served and eat before the brown paper bags showed up. The young girl that brought the bags proceeded to repeat our order as she handed us the bags. We got home and found that we were missing my wife’s sandwich. Too far to go back. My wife called and they knew someone didn’t put the sandwich in the bags. They said they would give her a free one. She told the person it wasn’t free as she had already paid for it. Too many young girls not paying attention. Pretty sure we won’t be back to Newberg to collect the«free» sandwich.

I had heard that this was a really good sandwich place, but I have to say I was very disappointed. I got a ham and turkey sandwich but after just the first bite I was wishing I went to jimmy johns or jersey mikes instead.

Good food in a family owned sandwich shop. The people are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and open. My mind off place.

Pretty average(Non-subway) sandwich place. Sandwiches were good for around $ 8 – 9 each(12-inch) but nothing amazing or special.

I had the zesty garlic turkey on brown rye bread and it was one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had! The garlic ranch was so yummy with just the right kick ;) the staff is super friendly too!

Using our Entertainment book, we found this place. Way better then Subway. They got us our sandwiches within a reasonable amount of time even with a big group here. We will be back

If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would and I’ll explain that later. This place has large and tasty sandwiches. They are WIDE! My favorite is the Midnight Special! And the prices are very reasonable. They also have a loyalty program where if you buy 10 sandwiches you get an 11th for free. Kids enjoy the train that goes around the entire shop too. I’d take away a star and a half because of their uninspiring customer service and they often have dirty tables. My family often eats here and it seems like the cashiers would rather be somewhere else at times and the tables are often a mess. We usually ask someone to bring out a towel and it takes a while for them to get them cleaned. Also, this place is nowhere near as fast as Jimmy John’s when it comes to making your food. Sandwich Express takes a WHILE. Other than those gripes it’s a great sandwich shop and has a good amount of seating for larger groups too.

I love the fresh baked sandwich bread and fresh ingredients. Favorite sandwiches are the Rueben, Midnight Special and Zesty Garlic Turkey. The broccoli cheese soup is always amazing.

Always good” A really good sandwich place. Plenty of room. Like the train. The soups are good also. I would suggest eating in, I don’t trust to go ordering. Always friendly and willing to help. Right next to Fred Myers, so you can eat before shopping, so you don’t spend too much.

Well Sandwich Express… That is twice!!! People order big orders behind me… And get their food before me… So I then have to ask for my food!!! You used to better!!! The smell of dirty dish water is repulsive wafting out of the kitchen area !!!

I wanted soooooo badly to give this place 5 stars… Heres the story, I went in on a whim, saw the street sign by the Freddys and thought I would give it a try. Went in, the place wasnt busy and there was a young girl at the cash register, I told her I had never been and asked what she recommended, she started throwing out some sandwiches and some dude with a pony tail filling chips piped in. He was super energetic and as funny as it sounds he seemed pretty excited about the menu and the recipes you guys offer. He said the ever so delicious words«french dip» and I was sold… AND this is where I was blown away, after the sandwich was made(service was quick by the way) the guy that recommended the sandwich to me personally brought it out and said not verbatuim but something like this«so you say youve never had our sandwiches? Well I hope you enjoy and come back soon.» at first it seemed strange to be treated like this, like I was a sandwich CEO or something but quickly realized that I wish that dude worked for me. So why 4 not 5 stars? though the quantities were more than generous I just didnt like the sandwich, It was bland. Im coming back tomorrow to try something different though, Cant help but love this place even though ive only been once and the meal was just soso. Theres something to be said about great customer service and this is it, keep it up guys!

Great tasting sandwiches made on homemade bread. I got the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. It was moist and delicious, but could’ve used some veggies. The wait time is ridiculously long. I called in a lunch order and went to pick it up 30 min later, then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes to get my food.

Great little sandwich shop in Newberg. They bake their own bread, the bread is huge and fluffy. I love their smoked turkey, and sub out regular turkey for the smoked. I can hardly get through a six inch, the portions are huge since the bread is so big. The prices are good and the staff is friendly.

I got the steak and cheese and was a little disappointed. The sourdough bread was really good, but I expected more from the steak. I was honestly hoping for shaved rib-eye but all I got was cooked deli roast beef. Bummer.

This is easily the best sandwich shop in newberg. I highly recommend the zesty garlic turkey… very tasty. I usually eat here ~ 1 a week. Improvements could be made in. 1) a little quicker getting your food and ordering… I almost always end up standing in line for awhile. 2) Just a bit $$ for a full price sandwich BTW. the salads are fantastic and if you have a to go order calling ahead works great.
