Absolutely horrible! My daughters bridesmaid dresses were never ordered! She found out 11 days before her wedding. I have heard many horror stories about this bridal shop.

I always give people the benefit of the doubt, but working with Bliss on my wedding gown was an absolute nightmare for me. My biggest problems: * Horrible time management: My bridal gown fitting began 45 minutes late, because they admittedly did not set aside enough time for the appointment before me. My bridesmaid fitting appointment also took two hours because the associate left halfway through to help other people. * Lack of customer service: For an accessory appointment I was pointed in a general direction and had to flag someone down 15 minutes in when no one offered to help. When Bliss stopped carrying the belt I had picked out, they advised me to blindly«order off Etsy.» It was weeks later that the owner offered to contact the belt company, and then did not follow up with me. * Responsiveness: Multiple e-mails and phone calls went unanswered. * How they run their business: My bridesmaids gowns were ordered over a month after we left the store(nine months prior to my wedding) and came in nearly three months later than the store originally indicated. When I asked why, I couldn’t get an answer. Our final estimated ship date? Three weeks before my wedding. That was the SHIP date. * Constantly getting the wrong information: My wedding gown came in over two months late. When I asked why, one person said it was«based on my wedding date»(which another employee denied), then it was weather delays, then it was Chinese New Year, etc. Eventually I was given the tracking number and told it was being«overnighted»(this was screwed up too, it took five days). When it finally arrived no one at the shop even called to let me know. I had to watch it myself and immediately call for an appointment. * Extremely disorganized: Invoice specifically said not to buy shoes until dress came in. When my dress came in, I was asked if the example shoes were my wedding shoes. I explained that the invoice said not to purchase. Staff argued otherwise and then could not find my invoice. I checked at home, and that was, in fact, what it said. My advice: look elsewhere.

On the plus size, the shop is very neat and clean. On the negative, I made an appointment a few weeks prior. When I arrived the consultant had absolutely no idea what they had in(their limited) stock, or even the different kinds of dress silhouettes are(mermaid, a-line, etc.) It was a waste of time. To be fair, she said she was new, but said that if she had«known I was coming from out of town» they would have made sure that someone else was there. Erm? What does it matter where I’m coming from? Should someone local get less attention/service? I was very clear on what I was looking for, but the consultant kept encouraging me to look through books of dresses(that were not even in the store) or go through all the dresses they had and take them out and try them on, even though they were not my style. They need to either have a list of all the styles they carry, or have someone there who knows what they have. This would probably be an ok place for someone trying on for the first time, who just wants to play dress up.

My wedding is over and everyone loved my dress(including me!). I wanted to update on the fitting process(the only other time I returned to Bliss). The seamstress was fast and super knowledgable! She did try and encourage a bustle underneath that just didn’t flow with my dress(it was tough b/c there the bottom had many layers of sheer fabric) but after she saw it just wasn’t working, she didn’t try and force it. Unlike some shops… It worked perfectly. She spent so much time tacking the dress and pinning annoying little details down. In the end, it fit perfectly, with just one fitting! She was absolutely amazing. I can’t recommended them enough!

Prior to going to Bliss Bridal, I had a bad experience at another bridal shop. There, the consultant was pushy and tried pressuring me into making a decision about not only my own gown, but outfits and accessories for the whole bridal party. So as you can imagine, I was not looking forward to putting myself through that experience again at another salon. I wanted to try a particular Maggie Sottero style, but when I called all the bridal shops in Westchester, Rockland & Bergen counties, no one had the sample. Then I tried Bliss Bridal in Newburgh. They had it! I made the trip over and was pleasantly surprised the moment I walked in the door. The atmosphere was calm. Dresses were neatly hung around the store and I was encouraged to look through the selection without any pressure from the staff. They had my sample that I requested waiting for me and when I tried it on, knew immediately it was the one! The saleswoman took her time showing me some veils, but never PUSHED me to look at anything. There was never the sense that I had to HURRY and make a decision. I was surprised that they didn’t even try to get me to purchase my bridesmaid dresses through them. It was just an absolutely pleasurable experience. Their measures were spot-on. I needed no length changes and required only the most MINIMAL of alterations during my fitting as a result. I used their recommended seamstress, Lorenza, who is so talented and such a kind woman! I am thoroughly pleased with my experience at Bliss Bridal, and feel it is one of Orange County’s best kept little secrets! I recommend them to any bride looking for a relaxed, pleasant, memorable experience wedding dress shopping.
