Best Chinese food in Newburgh! I think I’ve tried them all and this one wins –hands down. I love their Gen Tso’s chicken with pork fried rice, and egg rolls. They are fast but I recommend calling ahead and picking it up. Friendly staff, and great service.

Tasty! We thought the food here tasted more «real» than other Chinese places. The fried rice had that smokey «actually cooked in a wok» taste. And they made the orange chicken extra spicy for us. It was yummy. It’s not a pretty place but we’ll come again for take out.

Great Chinese in Newburgh. Lived on this during my renovation. Large portions, good flavors and not too greasy. And they serve tofu and brown rice!

green garden isn’t the best chinese food i have ever had. I really should give 3 stars for what they did. But i have to say the food here was not greasy. I have had better chinese in the city. but my fav chinese place is still Chin Chins in Las vegas hands down!!! i wish they delivered to NY.
Last night i was really in the mood for chinese. we got chinese from here because there really aren’t many places in the newburgh area for chinese. I called the order in. i asked for delivery. The girl asked where is it going i told her and she told me they don’t deliver. I was shocked cause i live in prob the nicest neighborhood definitely in delivery range of green garden. This place advertises delivery. I also order from other places that are way further away from my house and they deliver to me. I even told the girl i would pay a extra $ 20 bucks to have it delivered. i got shut down. if you advertise delivery you should deliver and not say where is it going and then back out, I should really give them 3 stars for that. I had to go pick the food up.
when you are ordering from here be specific. I ordered a vegie lo mein and a sweet and sour chicken in a pint. I did not say meal! and it came with rice and was charged as a meal. I ordered a quart of rice because i didn’t think they would make the lo mein and chicken a meal. overall everything came to over $ 30 bucks which i thought was a bit high for chinese. i have ordered 2 meals before from other chinease spots and it costs maybe $ 20 bucks with delivery.
Overall the food was good they had your normal menu. I did not get sick. which is a plus. no mistery meat, I did not have any meat there lol. the girl at the counter spoke english lol. i would recommend this place, Just remember they really do not deliver! if you are looking for delivery try someplace else but green garden does the trick for pick up.

I’ve eaten there before and it’s decent but they advertise delivery (and I honestly think I’ve gotten good delivered from them before) and the woman told me they do not deliver. Frustrating!
But if you’re looking for take out this place is pretty good!

Place used to be good but maybe they’re just to busy to be consistent. Really poor tonight, super greasy… my stomach is aching. Skip it.

Best Chinese take-​out in Newburgh, and we’ve tried many of them! Huge menu, reasonable prices, and food with a lot of flavor. Whether you order any of the combinations or the single menu items, you get quite a bit of food and it’s all good. Best dumplings & dim sum in town, and any of the «…and broccoli» dishes are quite good. Can’t go wrong here, and food is prepared quickly.

You might think that all Chinese take-​out places are created equal; starchy thick, greasy, and overly salty. This was one of the first Chinese take-​out joints that changed my take on what sweet & sour chicken and egg drop soup should taste like. Chinese food, as we know it in America is the Western bastard of an ancient culinary master. But at least, and thankfully, Newburgh’s Green Garden does so with respect and good taste.
Affordable, fast, friendly and satisfyingly good Chinese food without the unnecessary additives and disregard that mar many of its kind.
