I went here with my boyfriend for lunch to try it out. I was so disappointed at how cold the food was. We arrived at 12 so why is the food so cold. My boyfriend suggested that maybe the food is old, not sure about that but I definitely will not be coming back here. The buffet by the Newburgh mall is much better and my go-to for buffet now.

Just plain gross!!! The food was either too cold, bland or just straight out nasty!!! To even get any of the seafood items offered you need to stalk the ladies bringing it out otherwise it’s gone in a snap. Witnessed two parents allow their children to eat right out of the food pans. Floor was so sticky also the waitress was dipping her hands in dirty mop water with a rag and wiping tables down with it!!! You can’t even enjoy yourself because they watch you until you literally get the fork an inch from the plate to your mouth and swoop in and grab your plate. So many better choices out there

I was with a tour group and decided to eat with them. Indeed, I knew it was a chinese buffet but I felt too lazy to find out if there was any other restaurant around. It was 15 $(tips included). I started with the sushis and they were kinda dry and didn’t have much flavor. However, it wasn’t too bad. So I moved on to the western section. Only the fish and the roasted beef were good. Yes, the fish was well cooked and warm and the beef was tender. I couldn’t find the sauce for the roast beef. However, the rest of the food was really low quality(eg chewey vegetable). The lobsters I brought back to the table had a dark unidentified substance in the carapace and I couldn’t finish it. I had onion rings and right now, I am still wondering if it was really onions in the ring. Fried calamari was really chewy and dry. From that point, I guess I started to be biased and everything was chewy and bad. Yes, I seemed to be the only one in the group to be complaining about the food as everyone was eating and looked comfortable. I had dessert and I don’t remember being impressed. So, yes even tough, it wasn’t good, I managed to try many samples of the food they had and finished with dessert without adverse reaction. This was my first chinese buffet in years and hopefully, the last for minimum of a decade.

Found Several Slugs on the wall– 2÷1÷2015 This is the most disgusting buffet restaurant I have EVER been to. Sunday, after church, on the above date I took my children and mother here where a little into out disgusting dinning experience, my oldest pointed out that there were«small worms» along the edge of the wall at the booth in which we were seated. I then took a closer look, praying and hoping that she was wrong, but unfortunately I found that she was not only correct but they were actually SLUGS. We immediately grabbed our things informed a waitress who stated, «Those slugs were left behind by the people who came to kill the ROACHES.» I was even more disgusted that I then went to the manager, who refused to comp our bill, but reiterated what the waitress said; which was that the slugs were left by the people who were trying to get rid of the roaches!!! Overall, this place is absolutely revolting and should be shut down for health hazards! This restaurant deserves –5 stars, negative 5!!!

I have gone to this restaurant with friends on numerous occasions at their request. Each time I have been equally disappointed. The food was often over cooked and sometimes cold. The meat definitely low quality and the sauces were often over sweet and not very good. When they had fish it was dried out and bland. People would hover and even argue to get some of the crab legs when they made a brief appearance on the buffet table. I am not sure why as they were filled with cold water and taste horrible. The service was also very poor. This is not a place where they encourage you to sit and relax with friends for even an hour. They have a seating area in the back with is very tight which is horrible for a buffet where everyone is getting up and down for more. I really don’t like the back of my chair repeatedly bumped — and it gets uncomfortably loud in that small space with it is full. Don’t let them seat you here unless it is empty. I suggest going somewhere they invest in better quality not quantity.

The first time I went, I wasn’t sure about this buffet. I mean, it is in Newburgh, but I was pleasantly surprised. Someone said this place was dirty? I don’t know about that one. I’ve seen MUCH worse. The sushi is fresh, never questionable. 90% of the food from the buffet is delish, and all-you-can-eat lunch(or dinner) for two adults is around $ 20. This is one of my favorite places to go for Chinese. I’ve been here over a dozen times, and I can go at least once per week and not get sick of it. They do crab legs for dinner every night of the week! Though, I wouldn’t recommend going for them Fri-Sun as the fine citizens of Newburgh flock to it like seagulls in a McDonald’s parking lot full of french fries. Service is decent. They’re quick to remove plates. I only experienced one time with poor service… I waited over 15 min for my drink to be brought over. I was not a happy camper that night. Other than that, it’s good. Go there. It’s tasty. And if you’re still hungry when you leave, you obviously don’t know how to buffet.

Like my previous review stated we come here often. After my last visit This is profiling and the group that was coming in and told to pay in advance were embarassed in front of everyone that was in that waiting area 7.18.2014 I don’t think I will be returning. As we were leaving there were a lot of people waiting to ve seated when I overheard a conversation with some people that had just come in. THEBUFFETWANTEDTHEMTOPAYBEFORETHEYHADBEENSEATED. We were on our way out the door but I didn’t understand why as this had never happened to us. I found out later after talking to some people that they do this to young people that come in. Apparently some people had been running out without paying and they have been doing this for years. . If they want to pick and choose who should pay in advance they need to just have everyone pay in advance and not profile. A new buffet just opened in the Newburgh Mall I can’t wait to try it the parking has been packed since they opened. That may be my new spot.

I have been going here for some time now. I prefer the lunch there. They serve fresh food and is a great value. I have never had a problem with service. If your looking for a 5 star restaurant then go elsewhere. I rate this is the best buffet in the mid Hudson valley. This would explain the reason why there are«complaints» that it’s crowded. I do agree the clientele can be a challenge and the«battle of the crab legs» at dinner time is an pain. It is clean for the most part but when they get overwhelmed with people that act like pigs… no. wait. that would be insulting to pigs… I guess what I am saying is the clientele that’s there when you go WILL affect your experience.

If you must have crab legs then this place may interest you. The rest of the food is luke warm at best with exception of soup, rice, and chicken wings. It was hard to find items that were appetizing. The service was nice and they cleared the plates fairly quickly and checked drinks often. I have had much better buffets but around here your choices are pretty slim. If you are interested in crab legs get ready for a battle. The folks in that line wait a while and are not nice at all. Personally I did not eat any seafood here and did not eat any food located adjacent to seafood. There was a fair amount of cross contamination.

The overwhelming smell of rotten fish should be enough to turn away. However, I digress, we kept going. The server we had took forever to pick up our dirty plates. When we arrived there were still crumbs left over from the previous party. Really, the only thing I enjoyed was the crab legs and fried shrimp. The butter tasted margarine at best. The ice cream had ice chunks in it and literally tasted like ice and milk. The puddings and Jellos were instant. The«cakes» were at best Hostess. The fruit was not ripe. The food just did not look appetizing. The one star is for the crab legs.

Chaotic and crowded, and not terribly clean, but decent food and a very large selection. Lots of seafood, though it was way too competitive to get crab, so I didn’t bother to try. There was also a mongolian BBQ and a nice fresh fruit/dessert bar, much of the fruit was really nice and fresh to. Much like any other Chinese buffet, just with a bit larger selection.

I forgot to write this review after I ate here so this will be a bit vague. It’s basically everything you’d expect from a Chinese buffet. They had sushi, other seafood, different meats you can cut yourself, fruit, salad bar, ect. I really can’t remember specifics. I do remember the big steamed clams. I love those. And I remember that our waiter was great. He answered all of our questions or got the cook if he didn’t have an answer. If we’re in the area we may go back here, it’s not a place I would go out of my way to eat at, though.

So i went here the first time thinking it wasnt that bad. The second time I went here it was super busy and i did not like it at all. I went with a group of four and we were seated really close to the table next to us. I am talking our tables were like 2 feet away from the next table. It felt even more cramped because they were like really really big dudes and they were there to run this buffet into the ground by eating a whole mess of food. Besides the fact. The food was just not good at all. Maybe it was because it was super busy or I dont know. I kept having to ask to refill my drink. The food was just a typical low class buffet. I would not recommend this buffet. I have been to much better all you can eat buffets that have a bigger selection of food that tastes good. Their sushi, I wouldnt even bother eating. I never get sushi at a buffet but their sushi looked like the fish was really old and it was sitting out the whole day. The crab legs took forever and a day to restock and they were very salty. Overall I would not come here. You pay for what you get.

My girlfriend and I are here at least once a week. I only eat the healthy stuff. First is salad then I make my own soup using the wonton broth. I add sliced chicken from the chicken and broccoli and some lo mein noodles. Then I go to the Mongolian bar and throw in some bean sprouts, green beens, carrots and celery and corn. I also get the Mongolian Bar as my entrée. The carved turkey is usually good. Fresh fruit is hit or miss but getting better with the season, I do not eat anything fried and do not eat seafood so for what I get, I am satisfied. The servers are very friendly except for the woman that change the food. They are rude and loud. all they do is scream into the kitchen. They are very discourteous and will bump you out of the way to put the food out. They have no manners at all. Steve K

What kind of meal can you get for $ 12 these days? Some kind of chicken dish at your local TGIFridays? A super-sized meal at a fast food chain? Well, at Newburgh Buffet, you can get SEAFOOD X INFINITY(to the infinitieth power). They have it all: snow crab legs, blue crab, calamari, steamed clams, raw bar and more. In fact, Newburgh Buffet takes the best of Chinese take out, American comfort food and Japanese(ish) deliacies, jumble them all together and supply them in mass quantities for your convenience. Now, to be fair, it would be crazy to expect expertly prepared, fresh-out-of-the-ocean fare from a restaurant with such a low price point. But even so, what you do find is that the food is always hot and the selection always appetizing. Some of my favorites include the coconut shrimp, the snow crab legs, the salt & pepper crab and the stir-fried green beans. If I ever get stranded somewhere without food, Newburgh Buffet, I’ll be thinking of you. Yuhe’s Suggestions: — Come on the weekend! Because there are more people on the weekend, you can always expect fresh food to come out of the kitchen. However, there may be a bit of a wait and you might have to fight some people for the good stuff(crab, shrimp, anything on the half shell). — Skip the sushi. Sushi that’s been sitting in a Chinese Buffet should never be trusted. — Get your hands dirty! It may be tempting to just stick to the«spoonable» dishes but the variety of crab and shellfish is really what separates eating at Newburgh Buffet from eating at any other Chinese take out place.

We came here after apple picking nearby and this was a recommended location. After trying this, I will not be returning. Of many Chinese buffets I have tried this would not rank in my top 30. The buffet area is nicely decorated. The rest of the place is mediocre and feels more of a larger take out restaurant. There is a variety of food but most of it was soaked in oil. The salt and pepper crab wasn’t bad and neither were the sushi rolls. The faux ice cream was a good end to this meal. The food overall tasted like it was from a small Chinese takeout joint rather than a large buffet spot for the amount of money charged for this.

DONOWASTEYOURTIME here! Food had been sitting out. All day, nothing was hot, everything that was supposed to be crispy was like leather, the«meat» smelled like rotten eggs, the crab rangoons smelled like the cheese had turned… Worst Buffet Ever.

Wife and I really like this place, though we do find the dinner pricey compared to lunch with not much of a difference at the buffet. Lunch specials are good(about $ 7 per person) plus drink. Waiters keep the tables clean as you go for food. Once you get desert they bring the bill.
