Richard’s Barbershop

I moved up to Newburgh from the city and I’ve been looking for a good local spot for months. I’ve found it. I was wearing my hair really short for the past few months, but now that I am keeping it a little longer, I can’t go to the cheap Latino barbers that just use clippers. These guys know how to use scissors properly. This is a 4^th generation business and it’s obvious why they have been able to stick around that long. And since it’s only $ 16 bucks, I can afford to get a trim more often.

Yes, I drive from two towns away past four other barbers to get to Richard’s. They are that good. I am a very happy regular customer. I prefer Sal or Rick (the owner) and like most customer who have their favorite barber, I will glady sit and wait until it’s my turn. Now a ritual for my son and I to get haircuts together, I actually look forward to that time. We both sit and play checkers while we wait, or I will have some complimentary coffee while junior plays with a «hidden» toy stash under a sitting bench. I hate to sound dramatic, but there is quite a bit of trust given to the barber with your appearance — and Richard’s barbers earned it. I have been going to them for many years upon a recommendation from a military friend, and have not gotten a haircut anywhere else since. Friendly, courteous, and professional. A real service-​oriented barber that’s unfortunately uncommon these days. I am no longer surprised that Rick and his team know every customer who walks through the door by name. They all either have amazing memories or actually have great relationships with many repeat customers. I am one of the later. You will be very happy with these guys.

I moved to the area a few months ago and started getting my hair cut by Rick. I’m picky with barbers, but he does a great job and his prices aren’t bad at all. Would highly recommend this place if you’re not happy with your current barber or are looking for a new one.

I went to Richard’s for about 20 years and even though I’ve moved across the country, I still stop by for a trim when I am in the area. When I started going there, Richard Sr. would cut my hair. Eventually, he stepped back and his son, also Richard (Rick), took over.
That’s the kind of customers that Richard’s makes: lifelong, committed ones. The combination of great haircuts, friendly barbers (he only brings on the best), and a classic, classy barbershop setting make this the perfect place for guys looking to look good.
