This hotel is disgusting. I was given a non-smoking room and it stunk like cigars. The mold was so bad I had a severe allergy attack after about 30 minutes in the room. Even my dog was coughing and sneezing. And don’t sit in the shower – black mold is caked on the underside of a lip in the plastic surround. DONOTSTAYHEREUNLESSYOUAREREALLYDESPARATE!!!

Well I mean people are right with the whole hotel smelling like smoke for some unknown reason. I was put in a room that didn’t smell like smoke though, or they’d covered it up with Febreeze or something. It was a bed to sleep in in NEWBURGH. I mean, for the area, it’s pretty decent.

It’s a motel, What do you expect. Receptionist was helpful and friendly. We stayed here a night on our way to upstate. Second day, heavy knocks on the door chasing us to check out at 11:05am. Again at 11:10am when we opened the door and see her about to knock.

We were put in a smoking room which reeked of smoke. As in, the cleaning staff must take their cigarette breaks in here because the smell was so strong. Not only that, the comforter was riddled with cigarette burns and holes. When we peeled that back(not trusting the cleanliness of the hotel) the fleece blanket underneath ALSO had cigarette holes in it. Beneath that the sheets were stained, and though they smelled musty, they also smelled clean. The carpet around the room had sticky patches so we did not walk around without shoes on. The hotel did have a waffle maker, which was nice, but the set up of the eating area was awkward. There wasn’t any fresh fruit or even fruit cups. The only reason we decided to stay and deal with the state of our room was because other family members were supposed to be meeting us there. We called them to try to get them to change their reservations to another hotel, but we had all purchased through priceline — and were unable to change the reservation that close to the date of stay without losing money. The final nail in the coffin was when we woke up on Saturday morning. As we were exiting the hotel from the side door we had the joyful experience of seeing a bloody hand print on the door with blood smeared down to the ground. It was like something out of a horror movie(as was this whole experience at the Super8). I backed away from the door and my boyfriend opened it as a cleaning person was coming in from outside. She looked at the blood and did not react. He pointed to the door and asked if that was blood and she looked at him blankly and did not answer. We then saw other guests taking pictures of the scene so hopefully someone will post those pictures. I didn’t think to take a picture because all I wanted to do was get as far away from the Super8 in Newburgh as possible.

My best suggestion is to keep driving! First, the breakfast the next morning is lost non existent and plan on eating it standing up or take it back to your room. no newspaper. The room itself is 2 stars which saved by a decent A/C and not bad double beds. My suggestion is to only book 2 beds since they don’t seem to have Queen size beds. On small wastebasket and no tissues. Plugs were pulled out of the walls for some strange reason. Old box tv. Inadequate towels. Everything done on the cheap. His Motel is used by bikers and truckers so need I say more on what you can expect?

Super 8 Newburgh has several positive things going for it and a few overwhelming negatives to consider. Let’s start with the good stuff: 1). Good location for restaurants, shopping and close proximity to freeways. 2). Extremely friendly and helpful staff. 3). Plenty of lighted parking. 4). Free breakfast(Danish, cereal, coffee and juices) 5). Free WiFi Now the bad: 1). We had to stay in a smoking room and to call it a smoking room is an understatement! I’m not hypersensitive to the smell of cigarette having worked in a casino for years, but from the moment the door to the room was opened the smell literally gushed out at you. 2). Incredibly aged rooms. The rooms are rather expensive for a motel of this level and I have to believe that there is plenty of money available to update/upgrade the units a little bit. Would I stay here again if I had to? Probably, but I would pray to God that a non-smoking room was available.

After a late arrival into Stewart/Newburgh airport the Super8 on Route 300 was close and very comfortable. The front desk staff that night and on checkout were VERY helpful & nice. Walked down the street to eat dinner at 8pm-no problems. Only thing I was dissatisfied with was the ridiculous schedule of the airport shuttle. I had to pay a cab both ways.

It’s not fancy but it is cheap price wise. Decent size rooms for an over night stay, beds are OK. Pretty clean but the room did smell a bit like mildew. For an over night stay, I do recommend.

drive by this motel as fast as you can!!! my stay was a nightmare from check in to check out! the staff here is so rude and inept it is beyond belief. the rooms are dirty and in need of repair, only 2 lights worked in room, for every question or request was told i couldnt be helped cause i made my reservation online, i was fast asleep and someone tried to get in my room, seems they sold room twice. the 2 rooms across of me had 8 people in each room and they opened thier doors and partied in hallway till well past midnight, i asked to be called a taxi and was tossed a phone list in my face and told to call myself.
