Sport Clips Haircuts – Newbury Park

We moved to the area recently and while some old school barber locales were highly recommended in the heart of Thousand Oaks, I wasn’t excited about spending $ 40 – 70 for a haircut every two or three weeks.
My son loves sports so we gave Sports Clips a try and was impressed with the quality of service and how well both our haircuts came out. Dani, our stylist, did a great job and took notes to ensure the next person knew how to cut our hair in case we didn’t get her.

This was my first forray into getting a haircut from a place that wasn’t $ 5 – 7. So I was branching out a little. but I’m glad I did.
This place charges an honest price for a really good haircut. I’m not wealthy enough to afford $ 50 cuts every two weeks, but this place is a nice medium between the two extremes.
They listen to what you want, chat with you a little bit, and they really want the best outcome just like you do. The MVP package with the hot towel is a luxury that you should get, if only once.
I’ve gone here twice and it was an enjoyable experience both time, I’ll definitely be coming back.

I went in during my lunch break and they did a great job and where fast and very nice to work with.

I visited Sports Clips with my 1 ½ yr old. We went on a weekday morning and when we got there one person was cutting hair and there were 2
In the back. I was told someone would be right up to help us and waited over 15 min. A woman finally came up and she said, «We have a policy that kids can’t sit in laps.» I told her he’s had many cuts but always been in my lap, but we could try. She seemed so annoyed and of course he wouldn’t sit so we had to leave. What is the reason for this policy? He sits so still –he just wanted to be in my lap. I’m sure her attitude didn’t help matters either.

I had a great experience with a varsity haircut. The wait was brief, there was a shampoo and face towel included, and the stylist did an excellent job with the haircut. My hair can be kind of difficult with a cow lick in the back and she had an idea how to handle it and made my hair look fantastic when she was done. I am looking forward to coming back for my next haircut.

There is really nothing to not like. They are happy and friendly. The atmosphere is upbeat, and they treat you like they know you. I had a very positive experience I’ll be back.

Great atmosphere and better yet a great haircut at an even better price. I would highly recommend Sport Clips.

Great atmosphere, reasonable prices and good service. I particularly like that you can just walk in and get a good haircut with little if any wait. They keep notes of what you want and the conversation is friendly. Very happy with them.

I have been proved wrong.
I got a haircut at Sport Clips in Florida when I was much younger and I didn’t like the result so I haven’t returned since. I recently decided to give this place another shot and I was blown away. The female stylist I had was great. She interpreted my request perfectly and I left looking better than I could’ve even hoped.
Also the hot towel on the face, neck/​shoulder and face massage were amazing!!! Definitely going to be going back here again.

I’ve been to Oxnard, NP, Thousand Oaks, and Camarillo locations of Sport Clips, and this is by far the best, as they are very accurate to the cut if you give them a picture, and they are very good at remembering precisely how you like your hair cut, never neglecting to take notes, and consistently asking your opinion as they cut. Overall the staff here are very friendly, and they keep you coming back here, at what is arguably the best Sport Clips location in the county!

I love this place! No appointments just walk in. If you happen to find a girl who knows your hair well or handles you well you can ask for them next time. I like the two packages: basic cut or cut, shampoo, massage. I also like the tea tree stuff

Okay, so I’ve been to a couple of these places while I was in the Army. This particular location stands out above them all to me. Yesterday when I stopped in to get my hair cut, I was greeted by the store manager who ended up cutting my hair. The service was great, the hair cutters were nice, and the place was clean all things I really appreciate. Totally recommend this place! This location in particular! I feel people now a days only Unilocal when they are negative. I am here to do the opposite and give a fair review.

I have to say… Worst hair cut experience in my life. Unfortunately I purchased a package of cuts along with the additional extras. I’ve got several left and I never want to go back. I’m absolutely not surprised by the other negative comments here on Unilocal.
I arrived, the manager — a frenzy of supercharged energy with a loud voice — invited me to a chair and started the process. I want to be careful here… How does one comment on another’s personality without sounding smug??? She’s just too much Talk, and simply not enough Listen.
Off we went to the washing stations. She put the hot towel on my face… Good. She washed my hair… Good. Back to the chair, and that’s where everything went wrong. She completely ignored the notes from the system along with my verbal comments and started in. I’m serious here… Not exaggerating at all… Four minutes later she was whisking the apron off from around my neck and ready to send me on my way. I politely asked if she was done, and she said yes… Honestly, I thought she was just getting things straightened up a bit before starting in on the job at hand. She had only taken off about a half inch from a few places. I pointed out a few areas where my hair was still long and heavy. I politely pointed this out… «Yeah, hey… There are a few places where it’s still a little long and heavy, and maybe you could take a bit more off, or thin it?» With a grudging look she obliged… 30 seconds later she was done. Her attitude was not pleasant, nor did there seem to be any desire to please the customer. That was it for me… I wasn’t going to complain or ask for more adjustments. More…
– She completely forgot to trim my sideburns, which I did myself when I got home.
– She clipped my eyebrows without even asking if I wanted that done.
– In general she was fairly cocky and not really very pleasant in conversation.
– My hair was left so long and thick that it was barely noticeable I got a haircut, and I really needed one at that point.
Here’s the kicker… I gave her a $ 5 tip because I felt obligated to –Not her fault mind you, I’m just that kind of guy.
There are plenty of places to get a haircut… I don’t recommend this place.
To the owner if you’re listening… I’m a business owner — 30+ employees, and you need new management. Trust me, this girl is bad for business.
I wonder if I can get my money back for the remainder of the cuts?

This is the only place I will go now! Used to pay more in the valley just to get a okay haircut but here every stylists has been great! Even on busy days they are well staffed and fast! Time is money and here I am saving $$$.

I tried this hair salon today. I was greeted promptly and waited only a short period of time before I was given my hair cut. Gigi was the stylist. She listened to my request and was very professional and meticulous with the haircut. I was very pleased with the outcome, and plan on returning to this salon the next time I need a hair cut.

My husband has always gotten a decent haircut here but we will never go back and here is why; they charge WAY to much for a cut! Then they give you a coupon card to come back and it is VERY misleading. We thought we could choose among the 4 deals listed and we’re not told differently until after his cut. It is definitely not worth the cost!!!

The only reason i came here was because I recently moved and it was across the street. I tried to Google supercuts on my way home from los robles medical center & it tried to send me to the high school. I thought «Screw it I’ll go to that place by home.» Right away I was unimpressed, and I was not greeted for a good 10 minutes. During that time I signed in and observed the place. The prices were a bit more than I’m used to, but I always throw down 20 bucks so it just meant less of a tip. About the time i was greeted a man and his son came in and a minute later they were being helped and i was told it would be another 10 minutes. Nice, I’m already itching to come back for service of such magnitude.

SportClips saved the day! The Saturday before Easter Sunday I tried to cut my baby’s «mullet tail» off myself and he ended up looking like Friar Tuck! In a panic I rushed over to SportClips (this was my baby’s 1^st haircut ever) and they didn’t disappoint. Thank you so much Emily for making him look ship-​shape in time for Easter memories!

Came in in December with the kids (10) and (8 they got a great cut and shampoo and steam towel and massage. Came back with my daughter for a trim last week and asked to have blow out but they don’t style hair. This is more of a guys place they don’t have the tools to style girls long hair. Great place for a hair cut but if you have a girl and you want to have a her hair styled go somewhere else.
I am still a fan any place where the kids don’t fight me when I say it’s time for a hair cut is a good place.

Forget the other lame chains, this place is the only one worth going to on a regular basis. There are several reasons why and I shall state them in list form:
1) Hot, young hair stylists
2) Consistently good haircuts
3) Super clean environment
4) Sports on TVs all over the place
5) Perfect for kids and adults
