Got a groupon so we decided to try it. i got the baked haddock it was the tail piece and about 3 in long and paper thin no butter, salt, pepper, just fish and bread crumb, worst fish I have ever had it should not have ever been served, I sent it back and got a chicken ceaser salad wrap and that was also dry, they forgot the dressing. I got a drink from the bar with lemonade, raz vodka and cranberry juice and they forgot the cranberry juice. the only good thing was the waitress. will never go back and thank god I had a groupon

So glad the Beachoma reopened some years ago now! Real comfortable seating with nice booths and a friendly bar. The clam chowder was up there with the best I have eaten. Chunky with clams and potato and a flavorful clam broth. We also ordered the fish and chips. Excellent also. Very fresh and good portion plus hot, good french fries. We didn’t try the mixed cocktails, but the beer was real cold and priced fair. The fish tacos were delicious, sort of California style. Yeah, and the calamari was also real good. Fresh and a large plate, great with the cold beer. At first, on entering, I thought the music was a little cheesy, yet these acoustic guitar and singers played some old fashioned rock n roll covers. Not too loud and we really enjoyed the music! After the meal, we walked 1 minute to the beach and had a nice beach walk to work off the food and the beach is beautiful. So I say try the Beachcoma and don’t forget to order the bowl! of clam chowder.

2.5 Stars if halves were an option. First time on a late Friday afternoon, had a Groupon so decided to try it. It was pretty quiet upon arrival around 4:15 pm, not quite beach season. We were able to select our own seats in the dining room and greeted by a waiter fairly quickly. We decided on the fried calamari as an appetizer, grilled salmon(with sweet potato fires and string beans) and grilled salmon tacos(with hand cut fries and cole slaw). Our first waiter was OK, seemed a bit rushed and between the appetizer order and entrée order, we were greeted by another waiter who serviced us through the rest of the meal and she was super friendly and attentive. Our calamari arrived in a short amount of time… looked very appetizing but a bit soggy. Big rings and lots of tentacles, which my friend does not prefer. OK by me. Dipping sauce had a little kick and was very good. Our entrees followed in a fair amount of time and looked delish. My friend’s grilled salmon was very greasy, almost like it was flash fried before being grilled, you could see the oil/grease on the fish but char marks were definitely apparent. When she comment to the waiter, the waiter said«I’m pretty sure if was grilled, see the grill marks? I’ll let the cook know», sweet potato fries were hot and good, string beans taste frozen. My friend rated her meal a 2. Salmon tacos were good, hand cut fries were thick, not and excellent, cole slaw was good but mayo tasted heavy. Overall I’d say my meal was a 3. Hand cut fries a 4.5, 2nd waiter a 4.5 so overall a 2.5 rating. Standard«beach» feel to the restaurant. Total bill excluding tax and groupon: $ 46, water for drinks.

big bar type of place, local decorations on walls, very pleasant bar tendress, food was good, fish tacos could haave used a little more seasoning and caprese salad good thought i thought a little over priced… chowder was excellent as was the sundried tomato tuna… good beach spot and it is only about 100 yards to the sea!!!

Canned food, uncomfortable seats, Burger King décor, lousy drinks… but you’ll be comfortable all sandy and sticky from the beach!

Ordered their tomato, basil, and mozzarella pizza + added sausage and black olives. My husband had the fish tacos. They we’re both delicious! Couldn’t finish it and brought the rest home. We also had a Groupon so very economical.

A surprisingly good menu and tasty eclectic food. Fun, in the rough atmosphere. We like to go here for«special» lunches. Good for kids also.

Eh. It was pretty average. We went on a Sunday so the bar was busy. Because of this my family got pretty bad service in the dinning room. The food was ok. I wish fry cooks would learn. After you pull French fries from the fryer. SALT them!!! God I hate that so much, I mean you took the time to make homemade fries at least season them. The onions rings were very good but still lacked any seasoning ie salt… The rest of the food was good to average. Overall nothing to really go back for.

Great local casual place. I live next to the restaurant. It’s sometimes hit and miss. I’ve had some wonderful dinners and some I wasn’t to happy about.

Went here a couple of times while vacationing on the Island! Love the chowda as it was nice and peppy! Had the blackened salmon tacos which were awesome! Love the atmosphere and the owner was cooking muscles table side! When we got there one night it was packed so they set up a special table for us! Great place!

Add a star! I came here again last week and put myself in a food coma. The coconut chicken sandwich is the best. The chowder, chili, and guac are all home made and they hand cut their fries and onion rings. Fantastic bar for the locals where they welcome the visitors as well, Jessica was a hilarious and awesome waitress.

Amazing Bloody Marys & Peach Sangria — perfect stop for lunch after a long bike ride out and around Plum Island. The interior is cute and cozy, very colorful. We would come back for sure. Loved the fish tacos w/grilled fish.

Like many resort towns, Plum Island inflicts its businesses with a limited season and a limited number of year-round residents so most businesses are dealing with transients. Building up a base of frequent, repeat customers becomes more about the weather and traffic than about what’s cooking. The Plum Island Beachcoma might have found a way to buck the tide.

Fun atmosphere, the bartender was friendly and attentive, and the ribs were cooked to perfection(and I’m a rib snob). We’ll be back for sure.

Food is not your average pub fare despite the casual atmosphere which males me happy happy! Asparagus cooked perfectly Caesar wrap not smothered in dressing to make the poor food quality(which their’s is fresh fresh fresh!). Bartender needs a bit more personality but otherwise just great.

The location, food and funky décor are what makes this place. I do love the bar, but the drinks are standard. I asked what was in the«sangria» and the bartender joked that she’d have to kill me – haha — but I think maybe she doesn’t know what is really in sangria? It sure tasted just like rum punch with pineapple juice! Not bad but not sangria. I can vouch for the tender calimari, however. Fried to golden perfection and served with a spicy aioli. Good stuff. A walk to the beach, day or night, summer or winter, is a great after dinner option.

The groupon brought us in, but we will probably be back, even though it is kind of out of the way of… EVERYTHING. It is located on a nice strip of the beach. I imagine it’s beautiful, though we went at night, so it’s hard to comment. Food was great. We had Lobster Salad and Scrod. Everything was prepared wonderfully. Not the best seafood we have ever had, but certainly up there. Wait staff was attentive but not always in our face, perfect scores there.

First visit to this establishment. We were the first ones in for the day for lunch and they place quickly filled up. Had the fried scallops and fries and my daughter had the chicken caesar wrap. I must say the food was off the hook delicious and fresh. The fries were hand cut and fried nice and dark the way we like them. The scallops were delicious,; maybe the best Ive ever tasted. Could have been the cook had just changed the oil. In any case, we have no complaints. I thought the tartar sauce was different too, maybe cinammon? some seasoning but it was very good. The only thing I would have to mention that was negative is the flies in the restaurant. We were constantly having to shue them away. If like good seafood though, you’ll tough it out and enjoy the food.
