They carry a bunch of high quality clothing in addition to the selection of shoes. Overall, they have a great selection, strong prices for the quality, and some good sales at times. The salespeople have always treated me with respect over the course of many years. They obviously are doing something right as they’ve expanded over the years and opened a couple more stores. I personally highly recommend them.

Footwear selection is OK, but lately it’s been shrinking — what’s up with that? I have been shopping at JL Coombs other locations for years and frankly find the Newburyport location prices higher than other stores and selection spotty. My last two experiences have been very disappointing. The current staff is not attentive or helpful in the least — they seem to care more about talking to each other or only approach young customers. Guess they don’t understand more «mature» customers have more money.

Groveland, MA
Shoes for literally every occasion, everything from Danskos to flipflops, and cute little strappy numbers, too. AND they have clothes! The staff is wonderfully welcoming and super helpful, without being obtrusive. We needed this store in Newburyport! Now we don’t have to drive to Portsmouth for shoes anymore:)
