Popeyes

Avoid. You expect a level of consistency at a chain like Popeyes. This is one of the worst locations I’ve been to. I hope corporate reads Unilocal.
Service: piss poor, owner manager was too busy bitching out his 2 staff members in another language instead of acknowledging his customers. The counter gal was better, but seemed unhappy being there.
Food: biscuit over cooked… 3 piece spicy, 1 thigh was good. Leg and if he thigh may have been from last night. Dry and luke warm. Red beans and rice, a staple for popeyes, was runny.
If Unilocal had a feature to black list a restaurant and alert you if you are there… This location would be first on my list.

Very wonderful staff! Come in weekly and food is good but the staff make it all worthwhile

The chicken is good. But once I ordered a regular side of fries ($ 2.29). I asked to see the size of the regular and large. I ordered the regular paper tray size. I got home and found a small bag of fries. A week later I went back and started to order the same. I asked to see the sizes again. They showed me the small paper tray again. I told them the previous time I only got a bag. They finally said the bag is what you get but they put it in the small paper tray. This should be false advertising or bait and switch because they should be showing the bag not the tray. I won’t be ordering the side fries again. Won’t be back here much again.

These mofos! I just went there and ordered what I always get at every popeyes a #8 which is a po boy sandwich. I get a small piece of chicken and like 7 fries !
This is a cheap establishment, I tried calling to complain and get my money back but no answer. They even tried to charge me for a ranch hahah. If they are having a tough time with the economy they should just close that piece of crap restaurant or let someone who doesnt pinch pennies run it.

The worker emptied the trash and it was leaking. She dragged the bag from the trash to the back leaving a wet trail of grossness. Instead of cleaning it up with a mop, she left the trail and put a wet sign up. Really!!! That’s just unsafe and gross!

We have eaten here 4 – 5 times and every time has been consistent and very good The people who work here are extremely nice and know what they are doing YES it is smaller and in an older building but clean Went to a new Popeye’s in Palmdale twice and both times they didn’t give us what we ordered, the chicken was not up to par and the employees seemed clueless Glad to get back to great Popeye’s chicken at this little place in Newhall!

I’ve been going to this Popeye’s for years, but there seems to be new management. My husband ordered quite a lot (taking a scooter since we live so close) so he asked for a bag.
What seems to be the manager or owner (seems to be South Asian) said «No, this meal does not come with a bag.» My husband responded, «Please, I rode my bike here and it would be difficult to carry this back on a bike without a bag.» The owner shook his head in response.
If he can’t spare 2 cents for a bag, then what else is he cutting back on? Take your business to another Popeyes. This one has gone to shit.

Umm I just paid 10 bucks for almost nothing. And they wouldn’t even get me more. Won’t be coming back. I uploaded a pic of my fish and shrimp platter that’s the size of my finger.

Must be new management. Spicy chicken strips were ready in minutes, hot and excellent flavor. They are keeping it cleaner with the updated décor and are arcing customers faster. We are happy to continue our Popeyes fix and wish they’d open other locations in the SCV as this one is not that convenient to us.

NEVER IN MY LIFE have I been talked to or treated the way this girl here treated me. So I get home and realize they forgot to give me the Cajun fries. The problem with that is I drove 20 min all the way from canyon country (Soledad and Sierra) to come here. So there was no way I was gonna drive all the way back just for the fries. So I called the place and talked to the most HORRID person in customer service I have ever encountered. The girls name was Kristina or Kristian or something. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she gave me a fake name. So I tell her my problem, then she tells me to hold, well apparently they don’t have a mute button cause I heard this girl just go off bad mouthing me to the other employee. SERIOUSLY? So when she gets back on the phone I said, «U realize I could hear everything U just said» she answered me «Yes». Wait a sec… So then I ask if they normally talk about customers like that and she answered me «YES» !!! Hold on… wait a sec… Did this girl seriously just talk to me like that? So she then tells me the manager is not there but she gives me his number. I tell her I’ve never been disrespected or talked to like that in my life. I also told her I wanted a refund for the food. So then she tells me word for word, «well there’s nothing I can do for you so you need to call the manager or I’m gonna hang up» R U KIDDING ME? I’m still in shock the way I was treated. Some people just should not be allowed in any aspect of dealing with people or anything with customer service. This girl clearly being one of them. I will never come here again. I would rather drive to sylmar. But according to this girl they normally treat their customers like that lol. What a fantastic way to start off the new year with UR customers!!!

Heavenly chicken from the gods! So good! I only eat it for a treat because it will give you heart disease! Keep up the good work! Amazing!

Went there recently to get dinner, got home, 12 miles away, missing items and wasn’t charged for some. the ones we paid for were wrong, so went back, order additional stuff and get order fixed, to get home, and this time, the shrimp on the Po’Boy was still FROZEN, called and spoke to manager, who called us lier’s, so made 3^rd trip there, to find out manager is the owner, very rude, called us lier’s and said the shrimp was cold due to the lettuce and pickles, took sandwich of counter quickly, continued to call us lier’s and gave us a refund, and said they don’t serve frozen food. Hmmm, so we must have came home, 12 miles a way, froze the shrimp solid in 20 mins, and took it back. Owner said to go a head and file a compliant, as nothing would happen, well, he was right about that, expect, he lost a weekly customer and got a nice review here.
What a waste of 3 trips to this place, and what a joke the owner is, not to mention how rude he was, over a 5 dollar sandwich that we would have thrown in trash till he kept calling us lier’s on phone, so that was grounds to drive back there, which still did no good. Whatever, will never go back, oh ya, the owner also stated it’s up to the customer’s to open everything they order to check it before leaving. LMAO, ya right, don’t serve FROZEN FOOD, lie and cover it up!!!

you’re kidding. ordered the shrimp to take to a party and I it was dry, much breaded and flavorless. I asked for additional sauces which I did not get. I heard so much about Popeyes and now disappointed and will never going back!!!

This is actually a really nice Popeye’s in Newhall. I’m sure it’s the shady characters that give it a bad name, but the lady at the register was nice, and the shrimp was freshly fried.

I haven’t been here in awhile. Came in today at 3PM, not busy so I got my food in less than a minute. Place doesn’t look ghetto anymore, clean. Got an 8-​pc family meal. I had to ask for napkins & sforks. I didn’t realize you had to ask for those. She was nice about it. 3 stars for decent, not bad, not great. The food is good.

Tried ordering just the chicken tenders for my son but the lady kept saying «You want the meal?» After three attempts she finally got it. She had an accent and I was going to tell her in Spanish but, I did want to sound rude. Then she says, «What else do you want?» I’m thinking to myself like «What did she say?» I felt like she was rushing me. Why was she if I was the only one in the store? She didn’t say hello, smile, or thank you.
The reason I didn’t give this place 1 star is because the shrimp and chicken was good. I ordered mashed potatoes and got fries. Didn’t feel like telling the lady at the counter because she might feel bothered.
The wall under the fountain drink dispenser was really dirty.
I would go back to dine in only if that same lady was not there. Otherwise it’s to go.

Slowest experience ever just for a loaded chicken wrap. And I’m still waiting not to mention it’s dirty.

Love me the Popeyes chicken. This location is very clean. Friendly lady behind the counter provides great service. I’ve been here twice and the service is consistent. Will definitely be back.

As far as it goes, Popeyes is some pretty yummy fast food chicken. Unlike others, I have no particular preference between this and that other major proprietor of mass-​marketed fried chicken goodness, but the tenders are especially tasty when ordered spicy. I also just LOVE the red beans and rice. Service at this location is quick and friendly, with only a limited amount of irritating patronage. Mostly it’s just a bunch of locals looking for some quasi-​Louisiana fried chicken happiness. Pricing for a kids meal is better than at other fast food joints. All in all, a solid choice.

I have not been to Popeye’s in ages. I don’t know how long it has been but I really wanted chicken. It is located inside a plaza, so definitely there is lots of parking spaces. As I walked inside the restaurant, it was pretty roomy. I had a coupon for 5 mixed chicken, with 2 biscuits, 2 sides for 7.99. I ordered mild and spicy chicken. I also ordered popcorn shrimp combo. It came with a side, biscuit and a drink. The price came out to be about 16.00.
As soon as I took the first bite, it was amazing. I love the spices that are on the mild and spicy chicken. It was really delicious.
