My team goes here all the time after practice! We all get the classic«$ 5 breakfast» which gives you an incredible amount of food. Food:(4⁄5) Comes with Eggs, a sausage, bacon, 3 pancakes, cheesy potatoes, and a fruit. For the price you pay, this is definitely great. Overall, everything is nicely cooked and has never really disappointed me! Service:(5⁄5) Reliable and quick. Environment:(4.5÷5) Really cute place! There are cute chicken decorations everywhere and it’s a very spacious restaurant.

Love this place! Great food! Ask for«the taco plate»…it’s not on the menu and is delicious! You need to order a drink to get it and it’s a few bucks. Loaded GB taco, rice and beans.

I eat here all the time. My favorite is breakfast food, but even the dinner meals and bar food is great, too. Even had my rehearsal brunch there for a party of 30 and they took great care of us!

This place used to be a favorite of mine! I went there today with my family and was so grossed out! The place is so dirty, run down and down right disgusting. The food is NOT good! It’s not the same or I am older and notice more! There is old food all over the floor and moldy walls. It probably should shut down!!! Gross!

I’m giving it 1 star because the bread rolls were good. Everything else was horrible. They clearly buy the cheapest products they can find throw it on a plate and call it good. I’m pretty sure it’s a step below prison food.

This was our first experince and I must say it was not a good one. The food was average, service was good, but I was really put out when told they me they don’t take credit cards. Even fast food joints take credit cards. I had to use their fly by night ATM machine and of course there’s a svc charge. Shame on them. I will never come back, what a disappointment!

We ate here 6 months ago(chicken fried steak) while visiting friends, and back again when out in So Cal. Wasnt disappointed. their chicken friend steak is the best we have had and we have traveled over 10,000 miles cross country in the last 6 months. Price is good, cocktails reasonably priced!

Nice little hole in the wall joint. It’s not run down, just not flashy like modern Newport… It’s nice to see some good old off path places every once in a while. Great for a locals spot I you’re not trying to impress yourself(or the girl your with this week)

Always so good and fresh!!! Huge portions and very decent prices!!! We usually always get the fish tacos because they are the best, but tonight we got the ahi salad and it is sooo goood!!!

Good food at a good price. The place does not look the cleanest but I’ve seen much worst. The place was busy at lunch time with hungry customers. Full bar with a lunchtime busy bartender.

This place is really run down and a little questionable in it’s cleanliness, but WHOCARES when you’re drinking the strongest drinks in town? Not me. They have a cheesy, greasy quesadilla, delicious prime rib, decent wings, and a delicious French dip sandwich.

The food was decent but the entire place is so filthy that I had trouble eating. Mold in the corners of the windows, dirt on the floor, wallpaper falling off the walls and ceiling(yes, on the ceiling), the bathroom was so dirty that I wanted to wash again. I honestly don’t know how anyone can get beyond the filth. The stairs from the parking lot were littered with cigarette butts, the ground outside the front door was dirty and greasy. Really surprised that the Health Dept. hasn’t shut them down.

Sunday afternoon lunch at the chicken coop in Newport Beach. Absolutely ridiculous. «Service Dogs» gone wild! I was told it was a service dog. 2 minutes prior the dog was on the table. Gross!!! The dog needs to go back for some service dog. What service school did he graduate from? Wow service dogs sit at the table now!

Came to breakfast with a girlfriend and it was the first time I’ve heard of this place. It’s a cute little family looking restaurant. I ordered the chili cheese omelet because I wanted to try something different. It came with hash browns and I got the biscuits and gravy. It was very good! I want to come back and try the dinner options soon! It is Cash only, so make sure to bring some!

Have been going to Zoobies since 1991 and the quality and service have remained excellent over the years. Great value and fun place to eat and have drinks.

Pleasure of eating at the coop again a few weeks ago. I love how the owner and his brother are servers and know people by name, I love that it has the atmosphere for which of you are coming from the beach last minute or maybe dress up for a date, all are welcomed, appreciated and enjoyed. Please try the fried clams. Yes, it is called the chicken coop but their variety is perfect as well as skillfully prepared. I enjoyed my dinner so much I left the $ 40 contribution which was denied by my friends but no matter what, I just loved the service, food and company. Thank you Herashio!

We had to try it out due to a recommendation. Started out okay enough with complementary crudités and warm rolls. The potato skins are a meal in themselves, large flat slices with pulled meat(have no idea whether it was beef or pork) and loaded with cheese. We should have stopped there. I ordered the house specialty, «broasted chicken». Thinking that it was a cross between broiled and roasted. What I received were 4 pieces of deeply fried, crispy chicken parts. Half of the meat was inedible due to being too tough. The onion rings were so large there was no way to taste them. My wife ordered the blackened chicken breast which arrive lukewarm and as dry as a dead piece of cactus from Cottonwood Valley in Arizona. It was so bad we just asked for it to be removed from our bill. Service started out good enough, but it started to get busy and I literally had to start asking question to any waiter as they started to walk by 8 feet away do as to get their attention. Oh well. If you want a beer or wine and some tasty potato skins, go for it. And bring cash, no credit or debit cards accepted.

I wouldn’t even call this place mediocre. The staff seemed okay… Not overly friendly or helpful. The food… We barely touched our plates because bottom line it just wasn’t that good. I’m glad we tried it because I’ve been curious but we won’t be going back. Ps– it’s cash only but there is an ATM inside Also– they do have a bar(cash only bar???) oh well.

Great place for a yummy steak and lobster dinner. They seem to have great Mexican food as well. Friendly people who make sure you are taken care of. The food is seasoned and cooked well with a fabulous price! Beer is cold and cheap. Calm and quiet atmosphere. Only thing is no credit cards which is no biggy since they have an ATM. Comes with a potato, green beans, salad and bread! Yum!
