Granted, I ordered take out, but the woman at the front desk was the nicest woman! I am assuming it was Cindy, she was so sweet. Food was great! We ordered the crab wontons, dumplings, walnut shrimp(to die for!), fillet mignon, Kung Pao chicken were all awesome. Very balanced in flavors. I really liked the wasabi dash in the walnut shrimp — spicy/sweet thing going on. Fat and happy family!

I would give his a 0 star if I could!!! I lost my phone by accident and one of their servers picked it up for me according to someone who was sitting near me. I asked the manager if he could find the employee who took my phone and he literally started screaming at me. WORSTMANAGEREVER! Then he later proceeded to follow me and grabbed my arm and yelled at me for their employees taking my phone. Never again will I come here. Manager is the worst person I have ever encountered.

Food quality is good and consistent. walnut shrimp, beef dishes and vegetable roll are our favorites. Pickup is easy and food is always hot. Why only three stars… value inconsistency. Went twice in seven days. Last week a vegetable roll was 5.50, but today it was 6.95. Walnut shrimp, which is awesome, is nearly $ 20, which I am not opposed to paying, but when ordered as pickup dish, portion is far smaller than the dine in portion at the same price.

*my first 1 star review* Came here with a reservation for a friend’s birthday, my roll was good but… the Manager started taking chairs away and I could not believe he said«you guys need to leave» and we were pretty shocked, lol I’ve always read these kind of nightmare reviews but being told you need to leave for another party is pretty low, we hadn’t even been there for an hour and booked a birthday reservation, we even heard other tables around us yelling out to the manager«that’s how you handle business?!» So good to see we weren’t the only ones getting screwed over… regardless of our situation it was mediocre over priced food. Not ever coming back. I’ll be sure to spread the message.

We came here for a work dinner and I must say I was very skeptical from the beginning. Chinese, Sushi, Steaks, Burgers, and Shabu all in one place? Not something you usually see but I figured it being in Newport and trying to cater to the white people I figured I would give it a shot with my coworkers who suggested it. Service was ok but the place was pretty empty while we were there. Probably the only good thing on the menu that we had were the Crab Cream Cheese Wontons. Everything else, I am sorry to say was mediocre. At the table we had Sushi, Orange Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Eggs Rolls, Wonton Soup, and some other items. I had portions of a Lobster Roll, Vampire Roll, Sexy Roll, California Roll, and Orange Chicken. The sushi had a very strong fishy smell which should have been a huge warning not to eat it. The Orange Chicken was bland, and very soggy. As I am writing this, I have the symptoms of food poisoning. If you have eaten here and enjoy it, Im glad you do. If you haven’t eaten here, be very cautious. The reviews on here that say best chinese food, sushi, etc in OC… I am sorry but there are way better and cheaper but most are white people on here who love to try«ethnic food». Girlfriend being Chinese, I guess its just I have experienced more than most. I know the owner is very active on Unilocal and hope they are able to take this to review their quality of food to see if they can make improvements.

This place has the best peaking duck I have ever been able to find. The fried rice and the walnut shrimp are so good. If you haven’t tried it your missing out

The food was good but the ambience is incredibly dated and could use some serious work!

This restaurant is an absolute gem in this area. My family and I have been coming here for years and have always been met with top-notch service and delicious food. I would literally dream about eating the tataki salad when I went off to college and this became one of my pit stops every time I came home! Would highly highly recommend!

This place is amazing!!! The venue is gorgeous — they have an outdoor patio and extensive bar perfect for get-together drinks with friends. I had my 25th birthday party here and it was one of the best and most memorable. Cindy made it very easy to plan and coordinate so it was stress-free, and everyone loved it! Food is also delicious. They do a variety of fun takes on Asian fusion as well as your classics. The tataki salad is to die for and there are tons of sushi rolls as well(definitely try the paradise roll). To top it off, service is super friendly, especially Cindy, Nancy, and Michael who always come by to say hi :). I’ve been coming here for ages and it’s hands down one of my favorite and go-to restaurants in the area. Highly recommend, give it a try!

I’ve been looking forward to eating here for a while. The food was delicious and moderately priced. My dinner came late after my mom was halfway done w her meal. The service was slow. I requested water which I never received. They did not check on me during the course of my meal. Upon getting the check I was charged a 20 percent gratuity for a party of 2. Ridiculous. Gratuity is earned for good work it’s certainly not entitled. For an automatic 20 percent why would they ensure good service? Furthermore I prefer to tip in cash to ensure the wait staff gets the full amount. In this case I don’t know what the house keeps and what the waiters get. I eat out a lot and dine at fine restaurants a lot. This is not a standard practice and I will not be coming back.

I was excited to come to our club party event at CP. BUT When I got there I was disappointed with settings arrangement. There was not enough tables and chairs for all of our members, making lots of us have to stand. Furthermore, tables and chairs were dusty. This is unacceptable for a restaurant in this area. The water cost $ 4, which is outrageous. Then when I ordered drinks, the bartender gave me a rude attitude. They were inadequate and under prepared to serve a party over 100 people. It’s unacceptable that people have to stand in a long line to wait for food. As for the food, it is no better than the Chinese food at a typical chinese mom-n-pop fast food takeout. And there is the so called dance floor; it is just a bare concrete floor like a warehouse floor. The bottom line here is that for a restaurant located in a higher end establishment, their service and food are not good.

First off I want to say that the food is the best Chinese food in town. I have eaten here on several occasions and never ever been disappointed. Combo fried rice? 100 stars. I also want to say how much I have enjoyed the nightlife here. They have good music and a killer dance floor that will make you shake a tail feather. With all these good things going for them, it’s no wonder there’s a line to get inside. Good thing they make sure the line moves quick! CP Restaurant and Lounge? 5 stars. No doubt.

I’ve been here for 3 halloween celebrations and the past has had a very eclectic array of music for all dance floor lovers but this year was quite disappointing. When you request hip hop because there are 5 people on the dance floor and no one is feeling EDM and the DJ tells you that he doesn’t have hip hop… problem. Every DJ should have a variety of music. All I wanted to do on Halloween was dance to familiar music. Thanks for ruining halloween DJ! A tradition has been broken. Time to find a new Halloween spot. Just to be clear I have never had the food here. This review is geared toward the Halloween and hip hop lovers of the world.

Working with Cindy was amazing. We had my boyfriends birthday here last Friday and had the best time! She and her staff were very accommodating! Great space and great DJ! Cindy even put my bfs name on the marquee! I totally recommend this place for a group party! They also serve food! Thanks Cindy!

I just wanted to say thank you to Cindy for your extremely kind hospitality and the food served(feedback from our party) was excellent! You accommodated everyone beautifully and I will certainly remember this for any future events and even just casual dining with my own family! We had a party of 24 and the meals were set up buffet style except for my own immediate family of 4 who are vegan. Our vegetable dishes and lo mein noodles were excellent too! Thank you again… I was very impressed with what you and your staff did for us!

Cindy at CP was excellent to work with. We planed our 10 year HS reunion on Saturday night and everything worked out perfectly. They were very flexible with accommodating us and our budget as well. As a professional event producer, I was very happy with their service towards myself as well as their team’s service to our guests. The food was delicious and served fresh outside on their lovely lounge patio. The heaters outside were PERFECT and I really appreciated that it wasn’t cold out there. They even saved our centerpieces for us to pick up the next day :) The only thing I would’ve asked for was maybe some signs at the buffet to label what each item was, since it was served on the lounge and was a little hard for me to see. Other than that– service, food, and planning were all extremely pleasant and delicious!

I was very very skeptical since the décor is from the mid 80’s. Service is very good another weird thing since asians and courteous service are not always associated. BUT the FOOD was great! I really enjoyed all the dishes I have tried that have a red pepper next to it. Yes I like spicy food and this place did not disappoint. I have been here twice and both times I left with a smile, a full belly and a doggy bag, for me.

So my husband made reservations on Open Table and took me here for a Valentine’s Day Dinner. Not sure what happened, but somehow their records was indicating that our reservation had been cancelled;, nonetheless they didn’t hesitate to sit us. Our reservations was for 7:15; which ended up being a good time as it wasn’t too crowded. The service was good off the bat; as our waiter was very accommodating to whatever we wanted. The restaurant had a Prix Menu for Valentine’s Day that was $ 37/person and included a choice of appetizers(paper wrapped chicken was great), a lobster tail in a choice of three difference sauces from garlic ginger to a chili spicy sauce, a choice of filet mignon or a mandarin orange chicken in several different sauces and a choice of white, brown rice or both rice. Also there was a heart shaped chocolate truffle ice cream with a raspberry sorbet center for each of us(Sharing is romantic but it was good to have one of these of your own). Everything was very tasty, meat perfectly cooked and the dessert was Ah-Mazing! I also ordered a Caterpillar Roll for which I’m one that likes my eel on the inside and avocado on the out; which they had no problem accommodating me with that. The drinks were really good too. My husband had been coming down with a bad cold and they made a fresh pot of coffee to make him a hot coffee toddy with enough whiskey to do the job! Lastly the restaurant had a DJ to come in from 10 pm to 2 am. We had another stop to make; so we didn’t get to stay for the live music and dancing. Note: the Ambiance is a pretty cute dark neon lighting kind of feel with a HD moving screen of an aquarium with exotic fish along one wall of the dining area that we were located in with Valentine’s Day balloons and the floors are a gallery polished cement. There is an area that is a little more formal. To say the least this would be a place that I would return. Dinner was a Delight!!!

Wow. Just wow. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Hidden in plain sight is this pearl of Asian cuisine in Newport Beach. You might not even notice it amidst all the flashy roadside signage in the area, especially on such a busy part of PCH, but this is not something to be missed. You owe it to yourself to check it out. I was admittedly a bit intimidated by the sign boasting«Mandarin, Sushi, Burgers, AND Seafood», but they pull it off well. The best Chinese food I have ever had, hands down. Blew me away. I was not expecting such high-quality food for the price. I had the Kung Pao chicken with brown rice, and my date had the walnut shrimp. Both were amazing. Kung Pao was just the right amount of spicy, and had a lot of flavor. The walnut shrimp had this sort of sweet Dijon mustard sauce all over it, and I had to sneak a few bites when my date went to the restroom. We had planned to take some home, but it was so good there was nothing left! We also tried a Rainbow roll at the suggestion of our bartender, whose name escapes me. It was fantastic. The fish was super fresh and the presentation was beautiful. The bartender was very fun and pleasant, and the manager who might have also been the owner came around to say Hi and ask us how everything was. Very relaxed atmosphere. There were like thirty big screen TVs in this place! The Angels game was on, but they said they show football and other sports whenever they’re playing. I’ve definitely found my new favorite spot to watch the refs make terrible calls this season at Cowboys games. Great ambiance, excellent food, low prices, and strong drinks. Please PLEASE take note, restaurant owners. This is exactly how it’s done.

Best egg rolls ever! Do you hip Unilocal Kids even eat egg rolls? Probably not the healthiest food to put in your body, what with the grease bath they have to endure. But these are home made and so dang delish I have to splurge now and then regardless of the zap to my cholesterol. The hot mustard served with is also home made and one of the best as well. And now that I am the reigning Unilocal Duke and a regular, I take back some of the disparaging comments made about the staff in my original review. The owners son is actually a cool cat, just a little quiet. Funny that I made the comment in my review regarding«know any good jokes» about one of the waiters, as one of them actually did tell me one recently. He is a very friendly and funny gent, and although he is Chinese he refers to me as his twin brother!!! See, much hilarity here once you get to know this crew.
