The staff at this facility is extremely rude. Especially Mary who is Dr. Rowshans secretary. After deciding to have dr. Rowshan conduct back surgery on me. I tried calling Mary 4 times to schedule the appointment with no call back. Once we finally spoke a week later she promised to call me the next business day to set the appointment. After 2 weeks she finally called to set the appt. Having back surgery is a huge deal to me and apparently it wasn’t to her. Due to the terrible communication I have decided to go somewhere else. Dr. Rowshan was nice but the rest of the staff was very rude and not very helpful.

I have bursitis in my hip and he has been amazing at healing it. I tried the epidural shots, which relieved the pain and was a short term fix, but he suggested PRP treatment and it did the trick. I have had multiple back issues from bulging discs to neck pain and he has found a viable, less invasive cure. He and his staff are knowledgable of cutting edge technology and all have the kindest personality. You feel as if you are in the best care from making the appointment to finding a solution.

Great staff. Doctor Rowshan is very thorough and sincere. He has helped me get past my back and shoulder injuries sustained from the car accident. I love that he takes his time with his patients. Highly recommend!

Kasra Rowshan is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. I even trusted my father to take care of him and my father is the greatest gift I have! My mother and father feel like he went above and beyond to accommodate them. They felt he explained things well, he was kind, and was caring per their direct words. If you are searching for a spinal surgeon, look no further than Dr. Rowshan. As this and the prior ratings have said, Dr. Rowshan is a very skillful and compassionate orthopedic surgeon. My experience involved a fusion of L4/​5 in September of 2015.
Prior to the surgery, he ordered all tests and tried less invasive treatments. My case required surgery. Dr. Rowshan gave me his cell number so that if I had a need while hospitalized, he would handle it very quickly. I actually text him with a need and within minutes, the nurse walked in with a change in med orders. That is service!
His bedside manner is the best I have come across. Access to him is simple and easy. Normally I get next day appointments when I call. Do yourself a favor and call Dr. Rowshan, you will not regret it.

It has been three months since my surgery. I continue to improve. Dr. Rowshan did a fantastic job. His post op care has continued to be above board. I am very satisfied with him and his staff.

Dr Rowshan did end up offering his direct contact information which was appreciated. But it was after writing this negative review. It just shouldn’t be that difficult to get a response from a surgeon, or any doctor that you are seeing as a patient.

Dr. Rowshan is the best! He is definitely the most patient, understanding and supportive doctor I’ve ever been to. If you’re unfortunate enough to suffer from back pain, he’s the guy you want to see. He takes time to explain exactly what’s wrong and how to treat it. He is not surgery-​happy like so many surgeons are and tries conservative treatments first, before suggesting surgery. Seriously, I’ve never felt so much that a doctor cares about my welfare… and my dad is a retired surgeon! ;)

For months, pain was my constant companion. I tried everything hoping my lower back/​tailbone/​leg pain would go away. I couldn’t take enough medication to get relief. My family doctor sent me for an MRI and the news was not good — I would need surgery. He told me that he had been sending his patients to Dr. Rowshan and had gotten positive feedback. One phone call and I had an appointment. Dr. Rowshan went over my MRI results with me; he pointed at the images on the computer screen and showed me what was causing my pain. He clearly explained my three options. I didn’t hesitate when he suggested surgery. I was done with pain and medications and I needed to get my life back. Two weeks later, I was wheeled into the operating room. The following day, my pain was 90% better. One month later and I am so thankful that Dr. Rowshan had the knowledge, training, skill, and technology to improve my quality of life so significantly.

I had a pinched nerve in my neck that was giving me terrible pain in my back and left arm. Unfortunately I wasted almost three years going to various chiropractors, and even an acupuncturist, trying to alleviate the symptoms. After a failed «stop gap» surgery with another surgeon, I sought out Dr. Rowshan. When I went into his office, he had a tech run a nerve test on my left arm and hand. The problem area was pinpointed at C7-​T1. He performed anterior fusion surgery on that level. After the surgery I immediately felt «life» returning to my damaged arm. Nerves take a while to heal, but I’m hoping things will improve.
If I may say two things: get a second opinion on everything. Even as good a surgeon as Dr. Rowshan is, you always want to make sure you are getting the proper surgery for your problem. Also, there is often a very long wait getting into his office.

I have been a patient of Dr Rowshan for almost 3 weeks. I read up about him before my first visit and 5 stars are not enough for this DR. He cares for his patients and takes the time to make sure they understand what is going on. Answers the questions you have and even tho he has other patients he does not make you feel rushed. He has wonderful bedside manner. After MRI and EMG it was revealed I needed surgery. I am very thankful that my cervical spine is in great hands!

Dr. Rowshan operated on my dad in January 2012, even though my dad still has some pain down his legs his back is 100% better.
I have having back surgery next week, I think Dr Rowshan is an awesome Dr, he is nice and caring and very helpful. He never pushed me into surgery it was my idea

I have been a patient of Dr. Rowshan for two years now and I can’t express the Quality Care that I’ve received from him and his nurse Melissa. They both are very caring & compassionate with their patients. Dr Rowshan is treating me for my knee & sciatica and I am doing so much better with minimal medications. My husband just recently start seeing Dr. Rowshan as a result of my medical improvements and he is very happy as well.

After almost a year of physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, lumbar steroid injections and the like for sciatic nerve pain, I scheduled appointments with several Honolulu, Hawaii based orthopedic/​neuro-​surgeons. After consulting with the aforementioned, I was left with the feeling one has when taking a number at the deli counter at the local supermarket. «what do you need sir?» «next!»…
A friend recommended I see Dr. Kasra Rowshan, as his family members (s) had seen him and were very impressed. Being a resident of Hawaii and with Dr. Rowshan being located in Long Beach, CA, It was less than convenient, but very worth the travel.
The previous reviewer could not be more inaccurate in her description. Dr. Rowshan has an incredible bedside manner and listens to what you have to say without interruption. Dr. Rowshan was the first of almost five physicians to review my MRI with me spine level by spine level. In fact Dr. Rowshan reviewed my imaging prior to my visit to California before meeting me in person. He recommended a more non-​invasive surgical procedure which was in stark contrast to what the local nuero-​surgeon recommended (a lumbar fusion). The difference in recovery would have been almost a year. Dr. Rowshan explained there was no instability in my spine and therefore he was certain a fusion was not necessary and/​or needed.
I am still recovering, as my surgery was only two weeks ago, but I could not be more happy with the experience and Dr. Rowshan’s care. Additionally, Melissa, Dr. Rowshan’s RN, was a pleasure to deal with and helped answer many of my concerns prior to scheduling my surgery and after. Dr. Rowshan actually gave me his cell number to call anytime with questions and/​or concerns. Really? No call service to deal with etc.
Dr. Rowshan is a capable, confident, skilled surgeon. I highly recommend him.

He won’t win dr of the year– that’s for sure. My surgery was infected, he basically refused to treat it, had to get my Internest to drain it several times. At post op visit he never even viewed the incision/​surgery site. Overall, the whole experience was a disaster. Even refused to acknowledge infection when it was in the blood work. Nurse would lie and say she had called in prescriptions when she hadn’t. The pharmacy even told me that she admitted to them that she forgot after she lied 3 times in 1 day and said she called it in and spoke to them. Unbelievable. Going to UCLA tomorrow to see a «good» Dr that hopefully has better patient skills. Oh– surgery did nothing, I have my same problems but now worse with all the scar tissue.
