This place is amazing! The food is delicious, and was very appealing. Everything you order comes out to perfection. The service is amazing. I cannot remember the gentlemans name, but a very friendly chef came out and likes to talk to customers. He was very knowledgeable, and makes great recommendations.

I visited this restaurant with mid expectations. I don’t expect any restaurant in Newport News/Hampton to be all that. We sat by the bar area because we did not want to wait for seats. We started off with 2 beers which took forever to arrive. Our server did not bring us water. We ordered the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer because we were told that was one of their most signature dishes. That was good. I ordered the pad Thai which was disgusting! It was slathered in some sort of sauce that did not taste like pad Thai. It was a strong salty taste & my noodles were still hard. My bf ordered a burger which came out extremely rare. They did not ask him how he wanted it cooked, luckily my bf is not picky and he just ate it. I will maybe come back for drinks and an appetizer but never the entrees. Service sucked as well. They didn’t bring us napkins or anything.

Wow! Just wow!!! The food was wonderful! The stuffed tilapia was simply amazing! Some of the best scallops we’ve had! The service(Matthew) was terrific! Seriously, you can’t go wrong with this place!!!

I wanted to like this restaurant chain, but I doubt I will return. I took Mom here for her birthday and there was about 8 of us. We arrived early so it wasnt crowded, but every table was pushed right up against the one next to it, in front of it, and behind it. The place looks like a big warehouse where they shoved as many tables as possible in there and there is ZERO ambiance. The music is too loud, and once people started arriving, the place was not a very nice place to have dinner. The food is ok, and drinks and food are overpriced. I dont mind paying for quality food in a good environment, but their food is ok and the environment is not enjoyable.

Bone fish has great food. My perticular favorite is the mash potatoes and steamed broccoli. It has five star potential, only if they played music perhaps jazz music. Staff keep up the friendly and excellent service!

Not my first time here by far. My friend and I sat at the bar like always and got our drink and bang bang shrimp nice and fast! Wednesday night the shrimp is half price and is easily a meal in itself. Yummy food and great bar service as always!

I’ve been wanting to eat here, ever since they opened a long time ago, My mother shared the same sentiments, so she was excited to come here on Valentine’s Day. I decided to take my family out to dinner after receiving my first paycheck, and wanted to go to a «nicer Red Lobster». I had heard that they didn’t take reservations, but saw they had the res maker online, so made one for 5:30. We got there kind of early and had to wait, so they gave us the buzzer. Wasn’t too surprised that the restaurant was PACKED. Fast forward to the meal, we ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and Thai Coconut Shrimp as apps. I liked the BB Shrimp, though the TC Shrimp was a bit too sweet. I ordered the Tilapia Imperial, while my mom got the Sirloin + Crabcake(I really like the spiced sauce that comes with it, spinach was good as well!) and my dad got the Filet Mignon V-Day special. Was disappointed in how small their portions were for $ 30 /each.but after the apps, it was satiating. My tilapia was okay, though I didn’t care much for the sauce on top, as well as the capers. The rice side dish didn’t taste like much, but the potatoes au gratin were good. Our server was great(unfortunately I can’t remember her name), and the atmosphere was nice… would definitely choose Bonefish over RL in the future.

Kinda pricey but worth it. The red sangria is my go to drink, and who doesn’t love bang bang shrimp?! The corn chowder is delicious too. I usually pick an entrée off of their specials

We just moved from Florida and we’re trying every restaurant within a 10 mile radius to find some good food:) This was a great way to start our week, tried dinner, the bread with olive oil and pesto delicious with a glass of their house red, followed by a sirloin steak very good… only disappointment was their brownie, not very good and super dense… we gave it another try for brunch and it was still delicious, had the kobe burger and it was fabulous with their bloody mary can’t go wrong with either one of these meals:)!!

Never had a bad meal here though I actually stop for happy hour more than dinner. Lamb chops are very good. The staff is what makes the place. One of the better bar restaurants in the area.

I have mixed reviews. There is inconsistencies with their food. The 3 times I’ve been, the same items I’ve gotten as far as appetizers have tasted different. This last visit we had to send the calamari and bang bang shrimp back because they were overcooked. Seafood that is overcooked is not good! The replacements were much better. The bang bang shrimp has really good flavor. The sauce is mayo based, for those who do not like mayo. However, my husband doesn’t but he always eats half of my order! The chef specials are usually good. As a fish, I recommend the Chilean Sea Bass with lemon butter sauce. It will melt in your mouth! Service is always good as well.

Made the mistake of making reservations for Saturday night. Got there on time… no table. A tiny table was offered and refused. Fifteen minutes later, we got a table. I must say that I do admire the manager a great deal. She was working hard alongside her employees to get folks seated. The food was just okay. The bang bang shrimp was drowning in sauce and was just only slightly tepid. I ordered a crab cake and sirloin. The steak was perfect but the crab cake was tiny and salty. The truffle macaroni and cheese wasn’t worth the extra $ 4 but the pear martini was to die for.

I ate at Bonefish Grill last night with a friend. This is not my first visit and will not be my last. Despite the torrential downpour outside and flooding, the place was packed. We had a reservation and were seated quickly but waited a while to place our dinner order. We had Bang Bang shrimp to start, as always. And bread with their delicious pesto dip. Combine that with the mango side car drink and I was nearly full. I did manage to eat half of my fish and chips, but was rather unimpressed with the fries(likely frozen rather than homemade). My friend had the tilapia imperial, which was much smaller than the last time he had it. Overall, it was s good experience. I think the main courses could have used some work. The appetizers and drinks were great. And I totally forgot to use my coupon so I guess I’ll have to try again soon.

Our waiter James was great very informative. I ordered the ceviche… it wasn’t as good from the last time I had it. But all is good. The Oysters on the other hand is not worth getting, $ 2.50 each really that’s $ 30 per dozen and it was way to small. Every other place we get Oysters are between $ 15-$ 17 a dozen and much bigger. But the Blueberry Sangria was fantastic! Coconut Shrimp and Bang Bang Shrimp was also fantastic! We had our pros and cons about this location but over all it was good.

Came here for dinner this evening and was pleasantly surprised. We were seated immediately and our server was with us very quickly. Our bread came with our salads so everyone had something to eat. The food came in a very timely fashion and was all well cooked. Our servers were very nice and attentive to our needs. I would recommend the Shrimp Pad Thai. It isn’t super spicy but it is just enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4th July dinner! They offer a great menu with variety of fish. the service was impeccable, with a team truly dedicated to our needs. Despite being a chain, the Newport News location manages to capture the local feel. + Mussels Josephine with Tomatoes, red onion, garlic, basil & lemon wine sauce + Corn Chowder & Lump Crab soup + Macadamia Nut Brownie with raspberry sauce ++ 15% discount coupon, a feast for $ 63

I’m a fishy guy. Okay, not in that way. I’m pescetarian, so I’m always partial to a seafood spot. This restaurant seems to fit the bill no matter what city I’m in. This particular location has been a staple in my life for years, so I’m happy to say that even when the faces change, the service remains the same: top notch. The management staff make the place operate like a well-oiled machine, and the wait staff must compare notes on how to deliver cordial assistance with a hint of whimsy. It’s nice to wind down with these folks. The food offerings are always good. There has been a dish here and there that hasn’t appealed to my palette, but I would never hold the establishment responsible for my sometimes-finicky leanings. If you haven’t heard it from anyone in the know, Wednesday is the day to come. On that day, they offer their often-imitated Bang Bang Shrimp at a heavy discount, as well as a great happy hour featuring reduced-price wine and well drinks. So, when is a good time to come? When you want a happy hour drink with co-workers, a first date with a classy lady, a Sunday lunch with the folks, or a Friday to show your wife you will never stop courting her. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

I went here for my birthday dinner with my fiancée. In short, I thought it was good, but a bit expensive. Their gimmick is that they use a wood-fired grill to cook all their food, which gives it a nice flavor. To start, we got the wagyu beef and ginger potstickers, which were awesome — the ginger really made them pop. I got a pair of lobster tails with sides of squash and pumpkin ravioli. I thought the lobster was decent considering it probably wasn’t harvested fresh(bummer). The pumpkin raviolis were rich and satisfying, and the squash had a surprisingly sweet flavor(actually too sweet), almost like applesauce. The fiancée got the fontina pork chop with marsala sauce. I got the leftovers from that, and it was delicious. We also got a few unique cocktails which were very good. The décor is modern and nice. Our waitress gave impeccable service, although the kitchen had a couple screw ups, such as serving us our appetizer twice and forgetting one of my sides. In all, it was a nice dinner, but for what we paid, I would have expected better.

Went here at the suggestion of friends and we were not disappointed. Let me start with the server Jean Luc Francois. Very knowledgable of the menu and was excellent at making recommendations. Went over in detail(a little too much) the specials, new items etc. Drinks and salads arrived in sufficient time as well as the delicious bread and pesto dipping oil. Entrees arrived on time prepared as ordered and hot. I had the Filet Mignon cooked to MW and it was perfect. My partner had the Tilapia with the Lemon sauce and it was delicious. But the best part was the crab rice, it was delicious. Prices were a little high for the add ins and sides but it was worth it. We will be returning.

Alrighty here I go. I used to live in Florida and the Bonefish restaurants down there are way better. I waited over an hour to get seated. I expected this so I was willing to wait. When we finally sat down at 8:55/9:00 O’clockish(more than an hour). We ordered immediately. It took about 20 minutes for our bang bang shrimp and mussels to come out. The mussels weren’t cooked correctly and literally only tasted like butter. I got about half the shrimp on my plate compared to the ones I saw walking past me every 5 – 10 minutes had on their plates. So after waiting 20+ minutes the food was half assed. After the apps were in their to-go containers, we sat and waited another 30+ minutes for the main course. It was so late that I just had them pack it up. Our waitress was awesome!!! She had the manager comp both our apps. However we still didn’t get out of there until 10:00pm. Also I have no idea what the issue is with their floors but they are extremely slick. My daughter has fallen in there once and they still have not changed what ever they are washing the floors with. I also heard an elderly man ripping a manager a new one because he tried walking to the bathroom and also lost his footing and slipped.
