Dairy Queen

I felt compelled to write this review today, after experiencing an act of kindness that seriously changed my day around. I work at the Urgent Care next to this Dairy Queen and they are always polite, quick, and have smiles on their faces. If you haven’t been to this location, do yourself a favor and go. Really great job!

I’m not a huge fan of food chain places but every now and then I’ll get some ice blizzards from DQ since it’s near my second home.
This place is very popular with Menchville students as clients and employees, so dont expect over the top service, plus it’s fast food, ha.
Anyway, during the winter this place isn’t awfully busy but summer/​spring it tends to pick up the pace. It’s located in a way nicer area than the other one down warwick by Ft. Eustis so thats a plus. The inside is kinda small and can become very cramped when lots of people are inside like any other fast food joint. However, the ice creams are usually good and filled to the brim… or cone when you order.
Honestly though I think DQ should stick to ice cream products because I onced ordered some quesadillas and those things looked so pathetics and greasy that it turned me off their savory food items.
Also, this location’s drive through is usually quick but since it occupies such a small space, the drive through can interfer with outbound traffic and incoming walkers coming inside the restaurant.
Overall, not horrible but not spectacular-​just a DQ.

There seems to be a never-​ending merry-​go-​round of folks who cycle in and out of service here, but the food quality is always consistent. I hate to admit that it is my guilty pleasure of choice when I leave my gym, but that is a story for another time…
I have had the small burger and chicken finger basket meals and found both to be agreeable, as long as I get onion rings. I didn’t find the country gravy in the chicken tender basket to be that good, but I could have chosen another option.
I would highly recommend that you don’t splurge on the meal and opt for the ice cream. There’s a reason they are the queen.
